“I understand,” the assistant said.

Despite their concern, Mason and the assistant knew nothing could stop Alberto from doing something he wanted.

When Harold Gibson, Alberto’s grandfather, saw the latter’s frail body, he wanted to hit him with his cane in anger.

However, Alberto didn’t even bat an eyelash or make an apology.

Despite the objection of Harold and the other members of the Gibson family, Alberto returned to Apliaria without showing any signs of remorse.

The assistant got in the car and left.

Mason glanced at the servants waiting outside and said sternly, “Mr.

Gibson doesn’t like noise.

Since we now have him here, you can’t slack off like you used to.

Don’t mess around and bother Mr.

Gibson.

Do you understand?”

“Yes, sir!”

After giving the order, Mason went into the mansion.

Passing through the spacious living room and back corridor, he arrived at the patio of Alberto’s quarters behind the main building.

Mason slightly bent down and positioned his left eye at the camera of the smart lock at the door.

After a few seconds, an automated voice announced, “Iris identified.

Access allowed.”

The door automatically opened, and Mason walked into Alberto’s quarters.

“When are you going back, Alberto? How about I go to Apliaria and keep you company? Don’t you know Grandpa is going crazy? Every time he sees me, he frowns and complains about my laziness.

He forced me to work in the company and even sent people to keep an eye on me all day!”

As he entered the room, Mason was greeted by a familiar whining voice.

When he looked up, he saw Alberto sitting on the black leather sofa and talking to a handsome man through a video call on the TV screen not far away.

The man on the screen was Allen Gibson, Alberto’s younger brother.

Upon seeing Mason come in, Allen stopped whining and smiled as he waved at him.

“Mason.”

“Hello, sir,” Mason politely greeted back and showed no surprise at seeing Allen’s expression change in a split second.

He casually walked forward on his cane.

Allen’s frown returned as soon as his gaze shifted to Alberto.

“I’m really at the end of my rope here, Alberto.

Just tell Grandpa to let me come to Apliaria.

I’ve never gone there my whole life!”

In a clear and serious tone, Mason leaned slightly toward Alberto and told him, “Sir, your grandpa called today and told me to remind you not to let Allen come to Apliaria because he still has seven semesters’ worth of classes that he needs to attend.”

Caught off guard, Allen choked on his saliva and hurriedly defended himself.

“That’s not true.

He just doesn’t want me to go.

What he wants is to torture me!”

Closing the document in his hand, Alberto looked at him on the screen.
