"It's no trouble at all," Tiffany said with a smile, shaking her head. The chance to spend more time with Quincy was something she eagerly welcomed, not something she would find bothersome. Mabel gave a slightly awkward grin. "Quincy, she really does know what I like. We have a lot in common."

Quincy didn't say anything as he turned and headed for the door. They had planned everything out, and if he refused, they would label him as ungrateful. That would mean his mom might refuse her medications and treatments.

He didn't mind bearing the reputation of being unfilial, but he couldn't stand the thought of his mother's health deteriorating over it.

Tiffany quickly followed, happily chatting all the way to the mall, though Quincy remained silent. He was just going through the motions.

In the cosmetics section on the first floor, Tiffany picked up two shades of lipstick and asked him, "Quincy, which color do you think looks better?"

He glanced at them. "Aren't they the same?"

"No, this one is burnt orange, and that one is classic red. They're different."

"But they're both red," he replied with barely concealed impatience.

Tiffany put the lipsticks back and moved on to browse other products. When she glanced up while testing foundation, she noticed Lydia in the distance, accompanied by a man she didn't recognize.

A spark of excitement flashed in Tiffany's eyes. Perfect, she thought. Lydia was already moving on. This was exactly what she needed to show Quincy.

Tiffany quickly tugged at his arm. "This store doesn't have what I want. Let's check out another one."

Quincy sighed, his patience nearly gone. "You're exhausting," he muttered, pulling away from her grasp as he strode toward the exit.

Just before Lydia spotted then,

Tiffany managed to grab band

again.

Quincy shook her off once more. "Can you stop?"

He looked up and immediately spotted Lydia. His eyes turned red, and he rushed over. "Lydia, can we talk?"

But Eugene, standing beside Lydia,

stepped forward with a smirk. "Quincy, you have your date. I have mine Why leave your own date just to pester mine?"

Seeing Eugene only made Quincy's expression darken. "We're still married," he reminded him, a hint of anger in his voice.

"If we're not divorced yet, then he has no right to come between us," Quincy thought.

Eugene seemed unfazed and just grinned. "Not for long. It'll be official soon, won't it? You're going to the county courthouse on Monday, and after the one-month cooling-off period, you'll have the paperwork. I can wait a month."

"Enough from both of you," Lydia interjected, frowning. "I just want some time alone. I'm not an object for you two to fight over."

With that, Lydia turned and walked away. Eugene quickly moved to follow her, but Quincy was faster, reaching out and grabbing her by the wrist.

"Lydia, my mom drugged me that night. What you saw was all because of that. I didn't have a choice," Quincy explained.
