When the secretary finally explained the situation to Quincy in full detail, his first reaction wasn't about how badly he was being dragged through the mud.

It was concern for Lydia. "Lydia never did anything wrong to me. She doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. Who's behind all of this?"

Even if Lydia was with someone else now, as long as the man treated her well, Quincy would feel no more than bitter regret. He would never blame Lydia for anything. She was a wonderful person, and it was his failure to be the husband she deserved that had led to their separation.

"I'm not sure," the secretary replied. "A user posted a video online, and suddenly all the major marketing accounts started sharing it. It quickly trended on social media. Then the Fay family retaliated."

Without hesitation, Quincy ordered, "Get a team on it immediately. Issue clarifications and send legal notices to those accounts. If they keep spreading lies, we'll take legal action." With that, he hurried out, determined to find Lydia and check on her.

The secretary got right to work on the clarifications, but Eugene had been keeping a close eye on the online drama. There was no way he was going to let this situation blow over so easily. As soon as he saw Quincy's attempts to clear things up, Eugene began to meddle, deliberately causing more confusion.

At the same time, he paid a visit to Lydia's parents, twisting the knife even further. "Lydia is just too naive. You raised her so well, and she's never been exposed to the darker sides of the world, so she couldn't see Quincy for who he really is. Quincy is heartless. No matter what, they were married, and yet he's acting so cruelly toward her."

"That Quincy! He won't stop until he's dragged my daughter through the mud," Mr. Fay fumed, slamming the table, his eyes blazing with anger.

He couldn't believe how ruthless Quincy had turned out to be. Back when Quincy had visited their home, he had hidden it well, but now his true colors were showing.

And Quincy's company wasn't even publicly listed yet. If this was how he acted now, what would happen when the company finally went public? Would he turn his sights on the Fay family, trying to undermine

them? mine

"I'm going to deal with this," Mr. Fay said as he stood up, heading for the door.

Mrs. Fay rushed after him, concerned. "Where are you going? Don't act impulsively! I don't want you doing anything reckless."

Eugene stepped in quickly. "Mrs. Fay, I'll go with him. You stay here and rest. Don't worry, I'll make sure nothing gets out of hand."

He knew that if Mr. Fay and Quincy

faced off without him there, things could spiral out of control, and someone might slip up and ruin everything. Yet if he stopped them from going entirely, it would only delay the inevitable. After weighing his options, Eugene decided to go along and intervene if needed.

Mrs. Fay, trusting Eugene completely nodded. "Thank you. It's such a relief to have you with him. I'm really worried that if he goes off on his own, his temper might get the better of him. You've been such a help, Eugene."

Eugene smiled widely, his confidence growing. "It's no trouble at all. We'll be family soon enough."

He was thrilled at the thought of his relationship with Lydia progressing quickly after this situation was resolved.

In his mind, all he needed to do was push things a little further, and soon enough, they would be married. The idea of starting a family with Lydia filled him with excitement.
