As they walked out the door, Eugene seemed to be trying to calm Mr. Fay down, but every word he spoke only fueled the fire. Just as they reached the entrance, they ran into Quincy.

"You've got the nerve to show up here? After everything you've done to my daughter, what are you doing here now?" Mr. Fay rolled up his sleeves, clenching his fists tightly. Normally a calm and rational man, Mr. Fay wasn't one to resort to violence. But right now, all he wanted was to land a punch on Quincy's face to vent his rage for Lydia's sake. "Mr. Fay, I'm so sorry. It's my fault I couldn't take better care of Lydia, I-" Quincy began to apologize sincerely, but before he could finish, Eugene cut him off.

Panicked, afraid that the truth might come out, Eugene was desperate to get Quincy out of there. "You two are divorced now. You have no right to be here. Get lost! You've already hurt Lydia enough, and now you want to come here and harass her parents?" "Eugene, even if you want to swoop in and take advantage, have some decency!" Quincy snapped, his voice filled with frustration.

When romantic rivals encountered each other, the tension was palpable. Especially since Eugene had no morals, always stooping to low tactics. He was downright shameless.

But Eugene, rather than being ashamed, wore his smirk like a badge of honor. "Quincy, you're out of the picture. If I were you, I'd back off. Stop bothering Lydia and stop pulling your petty stunts behind her back."

Quincy immediately thought of the online rumors. One look at Mr. Fay's furious expression, and it all clicked into place. Mr. Fay must believe he was behind everything, that he was deliberately targeting Lydia and had been set on making her life miserable. But how could Quincy ever hurt Lydia?

"Mr. Fay, about what's been happening online..." Quincy started, but before he could explain, *bam!* Eugene, panicking even more, swung a fist at Quincy, hitting him square in the face.

Eugene's only thought was to

prevent Quincy from revealing the truth. If Quincy got a word in, all of Eugene' carefully laid plans would unravel. The Fays liked the version of him that he had crafted, but if

they saw his true nature, it would all

fall apart.

If that punch had come from Mr. Fay, Quincy wouldn't have even flinched. But coming from Eugene? There was no way Quincy would just take it quietly.

Quincy grabbed Eugene's fist and

kicked him back, quickly getting the upper hand in the scuffle. Quincy worked out regularly, and in terms of strength, he clearly had the advantage. But Eugene, being the lowlife he was, went straight for the cheap shots, targeting Quincy's weak points.

"You really live up to the term 'scumbag,' but that's too kind of a word for you," Quincy said as he easily countered Eugene's next move.

Just as Quincy was about to return the punch, Eugene suddenly shouted, "So you're this good at fighting? No wonder Lydia always had bruises. I remember seeing a mark on her arm last time, and she had to wear a jacket over her dress to cover it up!"

Lydia did have a bruise on her arm,

but it was from accidentally

bumping into something while going down the stairs. Quincy had absolutely nothing to do with it. In

fact, he had never even so much as

raised a finger against her.

and loving.

But in Eugene's twisted version of events, a few words were all it took to paint Quincy as an abusive husband, and Lydia as the victim of his violence.

Hearing this, Mr. Fay's rage skyrocketed. He had already had his doubts about Quincy, believing him to be no good. Now, with Eugene's well-placed accusations, Mr. Fay quickly believed the story.
