Jamie finished work early to pick up Charlie from school.

When Ben found out, he insisted on accompanying her. "I'll drive you there. It's Charlie's first day at school, and I'd like to see how he's doing."

Jamie hesitated briefly but agreed. After all, Ben was Charlie's father. It was natural for him to care.

The two arrived at the preschool and parked nearby. Though the car was relatively discreet, its sleek design still attracted attention.

Most of the children couldn't help but admire it.

"Wow, that car is so cool!" one of the kids exclaimed.

Charlie had made a new friend who happened to recognize the brand. The boy pointed at the car and said, "That's a super expensive car. Even my dad doesn't have one!" Charlie glanced at it nonchalantly. "That's my uncle's car."

His new friend immediately accused him of lying. "No way! You're making that up."

Charlie patiently explained, but when the other boy refused to believe him, Charlie started getting frustrated. "I'm telling you the truth! That's my uncle's car. I'm not lying!" The other boy folded his arms and scoffed. "If it's really your uncle's car, then tell him to get out of it. Can you do that?"

""Of course, I-"

"Charlie, what are you talking about?" Jamie's voice interrupted their conversation.

Charlie ran to her, looking upset, and clung to her clothes. He recounted the argument with his friend, his voice tinged with grievance.

After hearing the story, Jamie was unsure of how to handle it. The car did belong to Ben, but explaining that to another child felt unnecessary.

The little boy, however, was quite serious about it. He looked up at Jamie and said, "Are you Charlie's mom? You should teach him not to lie. My mom always teaches me that." Jamie forced a smile. "Charlie isn't lying. That car really did bring us here."

She thought that would be enough, but the boy furrowed his brows in a comically serious way. "Even grown-ups lie sometimes..."

Jamie barely had time to feel exasperated before Charlie piped up indignantly, "My mom does NOT lie!"

The two children began bickering, trading words back and forth. Jamie stood there, dumbfounded.

From a distance, Miss Georgia, the teacher in charge, noticed the commotion and quickly stepped in. "Charlie, no fighting! Let's talk it out."

Jamie also tried to calm Charlie down, but before she could say anything, Ben walked over and scooped Charlie up from her arms. "Charlie, how was your first day at school?" Ben asked gently.

"Uncle Ben..." Charlie buried his little face in Ben's shoulder, clearly upset from being accused and misunderstood by his new friend. His small shoulders trembled with frustration, unable to fully express his grievance.

Ben patted him gently, his presence a quiet reassurance.

Meanwhile, Charlie's friend, who had been arguing fiercely with him moments ago, suddenly went silent.

Once Charlie was calm, they heard the other boy's uncertain voice. "So... you weren't lying?"

Charlie lifted his head to see his friend staring in awe at Ben, who had just stepped out of the car moments ago. The boy had witnessed Charlie calling him "Uncle Ben and realized his mistake

Charlie, ever forgiving, smiled and said, "It's okay. I forgive you. But

On the way back to the car, Jamie couldn't stop herself from showering Charlie with praise.

"Charlie, you're amazing! So mature and forgiving. You're Mommy's little hero!"

"Mom, stop it!" Charlie protested, squirming in embarrassment.
