Charlie blushed deeply and buried his face again, making Jamie chuckle. She couldn't resist teasing him further.

"As a reward for being such a good boy, how about we cook dinner at home tonight? I'll make something special," Jamie said cheerfully.

To her surprise, Charlie's first response was, "Will Uncle Ben come too?"

Ben turned his gaze to Jamie, his deep, enigmatic eyes sparkling with subtle amusement as he raised an eyebrow. "That depends on your mom."

Two pairs of eyes, eerily similar in their expressions, turned to Jamie simultaneously. Their uncanny resemblance made it almost impossible to refuse.

Jamie sighed in defeat. "Alright, come along then. We can stop by the market and pick up some groceries. The more, the merrier."

The market wasn't far from their place. Jamie carried Charlie out of the car, and as they shopped, Charlie's charm was on full display.

With his sweet words and knack for making people smile, the vendors couldn't get enough of him. Every time Jamie bought something, they would throw in a little extra for free. "He's like a secret weapon for the market," Jamie muttered to herself, amused at how effective Charlie was at winning people over.

Jamie was a familiar face at the market, exchanging greetings with many of the vendors along the way. But today, she wasn't alone, and her companion drew curious stares. "Jamie, is that your husband?" an older vendor asked, eyeing Ben with interest.

Jamie froze for a moment, unsure how to respond.

Before she could speak, Ben took it upon himself to answer. "Yes, I'm Jamie's husband."

Jamie shot him a glare, but before she could protest, he added with a slight pause, "Or rather, her future husband."

The vendor's face lit up with an understanding smile. "Ah, I see! Young love. It's wonderful. Jamie, you've found yourself a great match!"

The vendor didn't give Jamie a chance to explain before handing her a bundle of celery.

"No, really, I can't " Jamie began, trying to refuse, but the vendor insisted, leaving her no choice but to accept the gift.

By the time they returned home, the sun was setting, painting the sky in warm hues. At the door, Jamie struggled to unlock it with her hands full of groceries.

Ben wordlessly took the bags from her, his movements smooth and natural. "I'll handle these. You can get the door."

Jamie didn't think much of it and focused on opening the door. Once inside, she turned to take the groceries back, but Ben had already carried them into the kitchen.

"You're cooking?" she asked

skeptically, eyeing him as though trying to imagine him in the kitchen. His lean but strong frame didn't exactly scream "home chef."

Ben raised an eyebrow, as if reading her mind. "What, don't think I can? Just sit back and watch."

Before she could argue, he ushered her out of the kitchen.

Charlie was sitting on the couch, watching cartoons. He waved Jamie over to join him, giggling as his favorite characters appeared on the screen.

Jamie glanced toward the kitchen, where Ben was already busy. Deciding to trust him, she sat down beside Charlie to watch the show.

Not long after, Charlie started rubbing his stomach. "Mommy, I'm hungry..."

Jamie looked toward the kitchen again, catching a whiff of something delicious. "Dinner's almost ready," she assured him, pulling out a small packet of cookies. "Here, have these to hold you over, but don't eat too much, or you won't have room for dinner."

Charlie obediently nibbled on the cookies, but his eyes lit up when the dishes were finally brought to the table.

Jamie blinked in surprise as she

took in the spread. Every dish looked impeccable-colorful, fragrant, and beautifully plated. It was far better than she had expected, even more impressive than her own cooking.

Ben wiped his hands on a towel, looking casual yet effortlessly composed in just his shirt sleeves. "Well? Didn't I tell you I could cook?"

"This is amazing!" Charlie exclaimed, his eyes wide with admiration. "Uncle Ben, you're the best!"

Charlie's praise echoed Jamie's thoughts exactly, though she chose to keep them to herself.

Meanwhile, a video clip of Ben, widely referred to as President Lucas within the company, had been leaked online.

When he found out who had leaked the video, a bitter realization washed over him.

For the first time, he felt like his entire life had been a joke, a carefully staged performance where he was nothing more than a ridiculous clown.
