Jamie hesitated, unsure how to explain. She couldn't exactly say, "They just want to eat on your dime and indulge in a feast, that's all." "Do you have something to say?" Ben raised an eyebrow.

Jamie didn't expect him to see through her so quickly. She took a deep breath. "Yes, actually. They want to go out for a team dinner."

She blurted it all out in one go, then stood there quietly, waiting for his response.

To her surprise, Ben's eyebrows arched a little higher, but his expression didn't shift much. "That's it?"

Then, without hesitation, he approved it.

When Jamie relayed his response, the team was in disbelief.

"What? Ben actually agreed?"

"No way! I thought for sure he'd shut it down. He's such a workaholic, always buried in his work without taking a break. Who would've thought he'd be so easygoing about this?"

The assistant, however, knew better. It wasn't that Ben was particularly agreeable. It was just that he tended to be more accommodating when it came to Jamie.

The dinner was planned at a high-end restaurant, and the team was buzzing with excitement.

Ben casually approached Jamie and asked, "Are you planning to dress up for tonight?"

Jamie blinked, confused. "Why would I need to dress up?"

Ben gave her a quick once-over. Jamie's outfit was perfectly fine, standard professional attire, but he arched a brow. "Wearing that might feel a bit too casual. After all, it's your first team dinner." Something about his tone struck Jamie as odd, but she couldn't argue with his reasoning. First impressions mattered.

"What should I wear, then?" Jamie thought back to her wardrobe and realized she didn't have anything particularly suitable.

Ben, however, had already prepared. He handed her a box, his tone casual, as if this was all preplanned. "Here, wear this. I had it custom-made a few days ago."

Jamie looked at the logo on the box. It was from a renowned boutique that specialized in everyday wear. While the pieces were casual, each one was limited edition and instantly sold out u upon release. Known for its unique designs, the boutique had garnered significant attention in the fashion world, even receiving invites to appear in major fashion magazines. However, the elusive

owner had always declined.

Jamie gawked. "How did you even get this?"

"I have my ways," Ben replied nonchalantly, gesturing toward the lounge. "Go get changed. We'll head out soon."

Jamie nodded, deciding not to fuss over it. If he was offering, she might as well accept. Besides, she really had no idea what else to wear. This gift couldn't have come at a better time.

Ben had reserved a spacious private room at the restaurant. When Jamie arrived with him, everyone else had also made an effort to dress up. Jamie silently thanked Ben for his foresight. She would have felt entirely out of place otherwise. As they entered, the room fell silent for a moment.

"Oh, Ben and Jamie came together! Did Jamie catch a ride with Ben?" someone joked.

"Why don't we chat a bit?" The assistant wiped his forehead nervously, trying to liven up the mood. Turning to Jamie, he asked, "Jamie, I've always been curious. What did you do before joining the company?" As he spoke, he secretly glanced at Ben and sighed deeply.
