CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 1730
Without hesitation, Wilfred scooped Karina up and carried her back into the room, gently placing her on the bed.
He quickly grabbed a towel, soaked it in cold water, and carefully laid it across her burning forehead, trying to bring her fever down.
As he looked at her pale and vulnerable face, his emotions swirled into a complicated mess.
Sitting at her bedside, Wilfred silently watched over her, his thoughts wandering.
He recalled Karina's usual demeanor at the hospital-her diligent work ethic, the unwavering focus she showed while treating patients. Although she sometimes seemed shrouded in mystery, her commitment to her job was unmistakably genuine.
He also thought of the times they had worked side by side in the operating room, where her calm and professional composure made her an exceptional partner. That confident woman seemed worlds apart from the fragile figure lying before him now. "Is she really as calculated as she seems?" he wondered. "Or is there something deeper-some hidden reason behind her actions?"
Karina stirred faintly in her feverish haze, her lips trembling as she mumbled, "I'm sorry, Dr. Wilfred... I didn't mean to..."
Wilfred's expression softened, his voice gentle as he asked, "Why did you do it? What's really going on, Karina?"
But she remained half-conscious, only muttering incoherent apologies.
As the hours dragged on, Wilfred continued tending to her. Gradually, her temperature began to drop, and her breathing evened out. Seeing her fever finally subside, he exhaled a small sigh of relief, the tension in his shoulders easing. Exhausted, he rubbed his temples and, unable to fight off the fatigue, drifted into a light sleep on the chair beside her bed.

The next morning, soft sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. Wilfred stirred awake, his internal clock pulling him back to consciousness.
He turned to check on Karina, who was still sleeping soundly. Though her face was still pale, the tight lines of pain had eased, and she no longer looked as fragile as she had the night before.
Moving carefully to avoid waking
her, Wilfred straightened his slightly wrinkled clothes and left a note on the bedside table, letting her know he was heading to the medical exchange alone. With that, he quietly exited the room.
The click of the door closing pulled Karina from her restless sleep. She blinked groggily, her mind clouded as she struggled to remember where she was.
When the memories of the previous night came flooding back, guilt and regret surged through her. Her gaze fell on the note Wilfred had left behind, and seeing his words only deepened her remorse. Determined to face the day, Karina forced herself out of bed. She quickly freshened up and hurried out of the hotel, intent on following Wilfred to the exchange.
As the cab pulled up to the hospital
entrance, Karina immediately
noticed a large group of people
gathering, their anger unmistakable. Some of them held signs with bold accusations like "Medical

Her chest tightened with unease. She quickly stepped out of the cab, her steps quickening as she approached the scene.
At that moment, Wilfred stood not
far away. He was just beginning to grasp the intensity of the situation Realizing it was a protest against the hospital, he moved forward, determined to address the crowd and calm things down.
"Dr. Wilfred, watch out!"
Before he could take action, the angry group surged toward him like a wave, their faces contorted with frustration and hostility.
Karina's heart lurched with panic. Ignoring her own frail state, she dashed forward without hesitation, shoving Wilfred out of harm's way and positioning herself protectively in front of him.
