CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 625
Chapter 625
Her face lit up with joy as she quickly answered the call, "Scott!"
But the voice on the other end was speaking in a language she did not understand.
Nina's expression froze. "What are you saying? You're not Scott?"
The voice on the other end was male, and the background noise was chaotic, making it impossible to understand.
Nina began to panic. Why wasn't Scott answering his phone?
"Don't hang up, I need to find someone who can translate..." she said urgently, but before she could find help, the call disconnected.
She tried calling back, but the phone was turned off, leaving Nina even more anxious. The phone was not with Scott, which meant he might be in danger.
Her heart raced with fear and uncertainty.
"Nina," Penelope called out, noticing her distress. "What happened?"
Nina looked at Penelope, not knowing what to do. "Scott is in danger."
"Scott?" Penelope thought quickly. "He's still missing. Was that call about him?"
"The person on the other end was a stranger, speaking a language I couldn't understand. If the phone isn't with Scott, he must be in trouble."
"Nina, don't panic," Penelope tried to calm her. "It's not necessarily as bad as you think. Unless we see his body, we can't assume the worst."
"Right," Nina agreed. "It's not that bad yet. He will come back safely!"
But if he was indeed in danger, what could she do to help?
Nina could not shake the worry. Despite telling herself that Scott would be fine, the guilt gnawed at her.
She could not help but think, "I have to find him!"
Penelope stopped her. "You can't just leave. What about the drama? And you have to think about your baby!"
There were so many responsibilities tying Nina down. She could not just leave. The internal struggle was tearing her apart.
She sank into a chair, holding her head in her hands, feeling utterly powerless.
"I don't know exactly what's going on, but staying here is the best option. Scott wouldn't want you to risk yourself to find him," Penelope comforted her.
Nina understood, but her mind was overwhelmed with guilt and anxiety. Maybe it was her pregnancy making her overthink.
She wrestled with the decision. If she went to find him, she might just be a burden. She did not want anyone else to sacrifice for her. She needed to stay calm.
Nina went to the restroom, splashed water on her face, and tried to clear her mind. When she came out, several people were watching her, worried.
"I'm fine now. Let's focus on filming. That's what we need to do," Nina said.
Seeing she had calmed down, Penelope breathed a sigh of relief but still worried about Nina's state of mind.
During a break, someone came across a news story online about a woman found dead with her organs removed.
"Everyone, be careful going home tonight. Don't walk alone or go to isolated places. Another horrific crime has happened!" "That's terrifying! How can we live like this?"
"Just stay alert. The killer hasn't been caught yet!"
The city was on edge with fear.
No one dared venture into quiet, isolated places at night.
