Chapter 46
No One’s POV
Grace rushed to the kitchen and poured the water for him from the refrigerator. Meanwhile, he went straight to their room to get fresh and wear decent clothes until it would be time to go to bed. She went to their room as well and waited for him to come out of the washroom. She wanted to ask something.
Zayden came out and looked at her suspiciously. She always keeps the water on the table but today she served him herself. Grace extended her hand forward and gave him the water.
“Thank you.”, he said slowly, trying to decipher her extension. He sat on the bed and patted the seat next to him. She took the place immediately. “Do you want to say something?” He asked and took a sip.
“Yes.”, she answered quickly. “I had saved Gia and Gina’s new numbers when I had visited my parent’s house on mom’s birthday but now their numbers are not there. I clearly remembered that I didn’t delete their number and except me, only one person knows the password of my phone. So, did you delete their numbers?”, She asked.
The water got stuck in his throat as soon as Grace asked this question. He restrained himself from spilling the water on the floor.
“Yes.”
“But…but why?”
“Because they are my enemies, sweetheart.”, he answered. When Grace gave him a confused reaction, he knew he had to tell her the truth. “They are vampires. I am sure you would have observed them not eating any human foods, staying in dark, extremely white skin and cold body temperature. If not, start recalling their weird activities. And werewolves and vampires are enemies, sweetheart.”
Grace opened her mouth to argue but then she thought for a while about the words which Zayden had just said but after a while, she realized whatever he said was true.
Her sisters and her husband either visited her parent’s house in the rainy season or winter season. They used to avoid eating in front of us. Their body temperature used to be cold like a dead body. After a few minutes, she summed up everything and decided to still talk with them, vampire or not, they was her sisters and no one can change that fact.
“I still want to talk with them.”, She said in a low tone. He looked at her as if she had gone insane. She showed him her best puppy face. She was totally dependent on him for contacting her sisters.
“Even after knowing what they are now?”, Zayden asked, to confirm his doubt.
“Please Zayden. They are also my family and…..”
“What if I don’t share their number with you?”, He asked, interrupting in between. Grace faked her sadness and lowered her head. She knew he would always fall for it. From the periphery, she heard him sigh. He picked his phone from the table and dialed Gina’s number.
Grace looked at the screen as soon as he passed his phone to her. The caller Id’s read.
Gina
She smiled at him in gratitude and mouthed a thank you. He acted as if he was deaf when she talked with Gina after that, he dialed Gia’s number.
“Don’t tell me, you are calling me with that dog’s number, Grace.”, There came a sound from the other side of the phone without any greeting.
“Gia”, Grace called her name in a serious tone. ‘She literally should learn how to behave.’, she mentally thought and looked at Zayden. He closed his eyes momentarily, trying to control his growing anger. He opened his eyes and took the phone from Grace’s hand. She thought he was going to cut the call but instead, he kept it on the speaker and scooted close to her. He snaked his arm around her waist and sunk his head in the crook of her neck.
“Do you want to talk with your sister or not, Gia?”, Zayden spoke. “Because one more disrespectful word will end your relationship with your sister forever.”, he threatened.
The other line went silent for a few seconds. Grace didn’t want this call to be the last call with her sister. But she couldn’t even blame Zayden for it.
“Grace, if he tells you not to talk with me then will you listen to him?”, Gia asked her sister.
“Yes, Gia. As long as you will be wrong. I won’t support you and what kinds of words you are using nowadays? Is this what our parents taught us?”, Grace replied sternly.
“Wow! You are speaking exactly the same words which he wants. Is he planning to make you, his puppet?”, Gia asked.
“It’s not like that…leave it. How are you?”, Grace asked excitedly, changing the topic because there was no use of talking on that convection especially at this moment.
“I am great. You tell me. Did you step out of your cage after mom’s birthday?”,
Grace felt Zayden stiff as Gia said the word, CAGE.
“It’s not a cage, Gia. It’s my home now. Are you planning to talk with me in this way?”, Grace asked.
“I am sorry. I was just…leave it. What are you planning to cook tonight?”
“It has not decided yet.”, Grace said. Zayden turned a deaf ear toward their conversation. They kept on talking with each other until Zayden heard something which gained his interest in their conversation again. Meanwhile, Zayden continued to k**s and lick her neck. She didn’t complain, as she had become used to his kissing, licking, and touching.
“Yes, it’s true that I always wanted to have a husband who can cook.”, Grace said and laughed at it. “But nevermind, not all men can cook.”
“Then perhaps, Paul should have been your husband. He would have gladly cooked for you.”, Gia said and laughed. It was stupid of Gia to say so, as Zayden didn’t waste another second to disconnect the call. Grace couldn’t say anything, as she knew Zayden too well now.
“Among all the three sisters, why is she so annoying, sweetheart?”, He asked her without hiding his dislike toward her youngest sister. Grace looked up to meet his dangerously beautiful golden eyes. She knew her smile would calm down his anger if he was feeling any, that’s why she smiled before replying.
“I think, she hates the idea of you marrying me by kidnapping me.”, She replied.
“So, as per her, what kind of person could have been perfect for marrying you?”, He asked.
Grace shrugged. “I don’t know. Since she was the youngest and stupidest among all the sisters, she had a misconception that handsome people are perfect for marriage.”, She joked.
“I wish I too was handsome the perhaps your sister would have approved me as your husband.”, he faked sadness.
“Why are you saying so? Look at yourself in the mirror. You look amazing.”, Grace tried to clear his doubts without thinking much. Zayden quickly hid a smirk that was developing on his lips. He knew he was handsome.
“You are saying this just because I wouldn’t feel bad.”
“No. Zayden. I am telling you the truth. I bet no woman can stop herself from checking you out. You are too handsome to be true and after observing your caring nature, I am two hundred percent sure that every woman will fall in love with you.”
“Every?”, He asked
“Yes. I can bet fortune on that.”, She stated.
“You too?”, He asked with a smirk.
“Y…”, she was about to agree that’s when she realized what she was going to say. “I…”, she trailed not knowing what to say.
“Tell me, sweetheart! Will you fall in love with me too?”, He asked her while coming close to her. He was too close to her to think rationally. She wanted to move back but he had already placed his hand behind it and prevented her from going away from her. “Don’t try to run away from me, sweetheart. Answer me, will you fall in love with me?”, He asked again, but this time a little more seriously. Their noses were touching by now and she closed her eyes to hide away from the embarrassment.
Her mind was floating by now. She couldn’t think straight. So, she said the truth that came into her mind.
“Yes.”, She said breathlessly. Zayden went stiff from her response. He didn’t expect a yes from her. He thought she would either deny or run away. It was definitely bold of her to agree upon the statement. But nonetheless, he was extremely happy about it.
