Chapter 77

Third Person’s POV

After a few days,

Grace walked quickly toward her house. In the morning Zayden had asked her to stay at her parent’s house for a few days and she had agreed to it immediately. The fun of meeting her mother and especially her brother excited her. But as the evening went by, she started feeling word sensation.

Her mother made her realize that she was indeed missing her husband. So without informing him, she booked a cab and came back to her house. She thought of surprising him as she knew he would be happy to see her, as much as she was excited to see him.

‘God, Grace! It’s not even a day and you started missing him already’, She scolded herself. Immediately she hissed in pain. She felt the burning sensation in her hands, legs, and neck. While the pain was bearable in her whole body, she couldn’t understand the reason behind it.

Whatever it was, it was different from the previous time. She wanted to reach home as soon as possible. The guards around Zayden’s house became alert, realizing an unknown car was approaching toward the house until they smelt the smell of their Alpha.

The watchman opened the gates for her and bowed down his head with a gentle greeting. She replied in a similar tone. She walked toward the front door while looking at their room where she thought he would be now. And seeing the light flicked on, she was sure of her assumption.

She gave a small smile to everyone and reached the doorway, only to find it ajar. So, without thinking anything, she opened the door. But before she could take a step, she collided with another person.

“I am so sorry, Eric.”, she apologized for her clumsiness.

“What are you doing here?”, the words slipped from Eric’s mouth as he stared at her in horror, as if she was the last person he wanted to see. Grace narrowed her eyes. Realizing his mistake of sounding so rude, he spoke again. “I mean, didn’t Zayden ask you to stay at your parent’s house, Luna?”, he re-framed the question respectfully.

“Yes, he did. But I came back.”, She replied as she tried to enter her house.

But Eric quickly blocked her way, which made her look at him in confusion.

“What happened, Eric?”, She asked politely.

“You should go back. It’s Zayden’s strict order to not let you in the house. And you should be at your parent’s house until he asks for your return.”

“Why would he give such an order? You are kidding me, right?”, She asked while still trying to get inside but Eric came in front of her every time.

“I am very serious, Luna. And so is Alpha. He will kill me if you see him…especially now.”, He said, mostly to himself.

This confused her.

“If I see him now? What are you saying, Eric? Why can’t I see him now? Where is he? I want to see him.”, She said, panicking. Why was he saying like that? She thought.

“But he doesn’t want to. Please, understand!”, He almost begged.

Now that really made her paranoid. It was almost impossible that her husband wouldn’t want to see her. He loved her more than anything for God’s sake! She reasoned.

Unless…

“He’s with someone! He’s with someone else right now, isn’t it? This is why he made me go home so that he could do anything he wanted without my interference!”, She said loudly as she couldn’t believe her own words.

Without waiting for her reply, she pushed him and ran toward their room to find out why he lied to her all these days!

Eric could only call her name as she ran upstairs like a teenager. Pushing the door wide, Grace looked inside the room and when her eyes landed on her husband, she gasped in shock. What she saw broke her already shattered heart. She couldn’t believe what she was witnessing right now.

The only thing, that ran in her mind were questions…loads of questions.

Why did he lie to her?

Why?

Eric rushed behind her and hesitantly called her name again. “Luna…”

Grace looked at him with teary eyes and asked the only thing that she had in her mind.

“Why?”, She whispered asked as her voice broke at the end.

When Eric didn’t say anything, she looked back inside with eyes that were refusing to look there.

Two days later,

“Sweetheart, which shirt should I wear?”, Zayden asked Grace as he came out of the walk-in closet with two shirts in his hands, and they both were bought by Grace for him.

Grace didn’t raise her head to look at him. She was still mad at him and she knew that he was doing this to get her attention which he was not going to get any. She continued to make the list of groceries that she had to buy from the market, ignoring his question.

Since last morning, he had been trying to make up with her and apologize for what happened two days ago, but she was very stubborn. Even though she did all the chores and fulfilled all her responsibilities, yet she remained angry with him. How can she possibly forgive him that easily!

‘This is all your fault.’, Zayden blamed Dominic.

‘I know and I am trying to make things right but it’s not my fault that our mate is stubborn.’, Dominic replied and took control of Zayden’s body. He dropped shirts on the bed. He approached her side and snatched the pen from her hand so that she would pay attention to him.

“I told you, I am sorry! Now, how long are you going to ignore me?”, He asked desperately.

“I am still angry at you, Dominic.”

“I know! And I am asking for your forgiveness. I won’t say it again. How many times should I repeat the same line? I am an Alpha for god sake.”

“So? I am also a Luna, which is equal to Alpha.”

Dominic liked the way she was arguing but this argument had to end now. He scooted close to her but she immediately scooted away to maintain distance. She knew that she wouldn’t be able to think properly if he stayed close to her. And she had planned to remain upset with him for a long time.

While this is what both Zayden and Dominic hated the most-the distance between them.

“Grace!”, He called her name in a serious tone. And that’s the tone that always scares her before. But now, she narrowed her eyes on him.

“Are you scaring me now?”

“No! But I want to quit this behaviour.”, He said and ran his palm over his face in irritation. He agreed it was his fault, but she was taking it too far now.

So, what do you think Zayden has done because of which Grace is mad at him? Any guesses?
