Levi walked back to the campgrounds after wandering through the entire mountains. He didn't know why he was walking around so aimlessly. Maybe he wanted to clear his thoughts or perhaps he was trying to put an end to this guilt that had ridden up to his gut

and settled there but the more he walked, the more he couldn't stop thinking about it.

When he saw Amery in that state, he didn't know what came over him. A mixture of burning anger and hate. He didn't know how to react but one thing was certain, he'd kill Madeline with his bare hands if he ever comes in contact with her. She'd suffer a hundred times of what Amery had gone through and that was a promise that he intended to keep.

As he made his way back to camp, a lot of thoughts wandered through his mind. Should he apologize? Would Amery forgive him if he did? What if she decides to never speak to him again? He had messed up and now because of his foolishness, he might potentially lose her forever. Why did he even do it in the first place? Amery has been nothing but kind to him. She even went out of her way to defend him when no one did and now he has gone and betrayed her trust.

But isn't this what he had always wanted? So why was he feeling bad about it now? Was it because of what she had said? How is it that he was slowly beginning to have a change of heart? Why was he constantly blaming himself for it when it was something that he had always planned to do?

"Levi?" The teacher called out to him the minute he stepped into the campgrounds. He had no idea that he had walked all the way here.

"Amery? Did you find her?" He asked almost out of breath and Levi nodded his head slowly.

"We found her and she's safe." He answered almost immediately. "Asher took her back home because she kept on insisting on being with her parents so they took the bus back." He lied through his teeth to make the story a little more believable to everyone. "But where did you find her and Is she alright? Did she suffer any injuries of any sort?" One of the students chimed in while they all stared back at him curiously. Their faces were etched with worry.

"We found her stranded in the woods." He replied. "She was a bit shaken up but I can assure you that she's fine. Her parents will take it up from here and hopefully, we will see her in school."

The teachers and everyone gathered around blew out a deep breath of relief. They had all been up and running trying to find Amery and now they were happy to find out that she was indeed safe and sound.

"That's good." He patted Levi's shoulders. "I believe we've all had an adventure for two days. I'd advise everyone to take a nice nap because we would be leaving here for home tomorrow." The teacher went further to announce.

"Pack your bags and put your things in order because this trip has sadly come to an end. Dismiss!"

Everyone dispersed into their various cabin leaving Levi outside, alone with his thoughts. Maybe he would just give her time to heal and keep his distance from her since it wouldn't do either of them any good. With that conviction settled in his mind, he made for his cabin but stopped abruptly when he spotted Natasha standing at the entrance, her hands firmly folded across her chest as she waited for him.

He rolled his eyes in sudden irritation. He has had a long night and this isn't what he wanted to face at this particular time. He made for his door but her words stopped him before he could twist the knob open.

"Isn't it strange?" She started. "That Amery went missing and after I threatened you both, she suddenly appeared out of nowhere?"

Levi faced the b***h in front of him. He wondered how Asher got himself tangled up with someone as stupid as this.

"I knew that you both hid her somewhere. That's why you're here right? To kill every single one of us." She rambled, her eyes glaring fiercely at him while her nose flared up in anger.

"I don't know what all three of you are planning and I know that exposing you is not going to be easy because no one would believe me but mark my words." She took a step closer, bridging the gap between them. "I won't stop until I do. I won't stop until everyone sees you three for the monsters you are. I wish you die in your sleep." She showed him her middle finger before storming away towards her cabin.

He knew just how upset he was at the moment and he was glad that he had somehow managed to curb his anger otherwise, she would have gone through worse than whatever she experienced with Asher. She would've been admitted as a mentally unstable person when he was through with her but he can't let his emotions let loose. It wasn't worth it. She wasn't worth it.

Back at the hotel, Amery was still struggling to come to terms with what Asher had just said to her. Is it even possible that the woman she saw in her vision was her mother? And if that's the case, does it mean that the baby she was holding was her? Her brain was calculating and trying to piece the dots together but now that he mentioned it, somehow it made a whole lot of sense.

The woman called her Ondina. Was that her name? How is it even possible that she was still alive? Those men who chased after her wanted to kill her. Does that mean that they didn't get to her and she escaped? Then what about the sacrifice of pacifying a curse? What does that even mean?

"Amery?" Asher tapped her hands and she flinched. She had zoned out on him without even realizing it. Can you blame her? Up until now, she had thought that she was an ordinary orphaned girl but now, she's being sucked into a world that she never wanted for herself.

"Are you alright? You Shouldn't be overthinking this in your condition or you'll fall sick." Asher tried to get through to her but she wouldn't listen.

"Did you say you saw my mother? Did you meet her? Does she know about me?" Her voice choked with too many emotions all at once. "She must have been so sad trying to find me all these years. She might think that I'm dead. I can't believe that she is alive and well." "Amery, I didn't talk to her." Asher primped and she creased her forehead in ardent confusion.

"Listen." He straightened himself to sit properly. "After that issue we had, I found a way to go back to our realm. I wanted to blow off some steam because I was getting sick of this place. During one of the stages of self-discovery, I stumbled on another pack of people. They were kind and welcomed me to stay with them. It was during this time I found her." He broke down the news to Amery who was still reeling from shock.

"That's why I didn't come back after I left. I wanted to find her for you so I stayed and tried to get as much information as I could. I found out where she lived and the people she communicated with but I never spoke to her, not once. I just merely observed as much as I could."

Amery sniveled and that's when Asher noticed that she had been crying. "I thought that she was dead but I'm glad to know that she's okay. I can't believe that you did that for me, Asher."

"I'd do anything for you Amery and you know that." He touched her cheeks affectionately. "You mean the world to me and I'd do anything to make you happy."

She nodded vehemently. "I want to see her. I want to meet her Asher. There are a lot of questions that I need answers to and I'm afraid that she's the only one who could give me those answers. Can you please help me?"

"I will." He answered almost immediately. "But first, you'd have to rest and heal. This stuff would've killed a mere wolf but I'm surprised to see that you're still alive and I need you to be healthy and strong. When you get better, I promise that I'll take you to see your mother okay?"

She threw herself at him and hugged him tightly. "Thank you for doing this for me."

He pulled away afterwards. "Now go to sleep. We'd have to be back home soon so that no one suspects a thing and you need to recharge for the journey ahead."

She laid back on the bed and after pulling the blanket over her body, he kissed her forehead goodnight before exiting the room. On one hand, he was glad that he had won her over but at what cost? His life or his brothers?
