Amery watched Asher with a solemn look on her face. After the incident that took place in the cave, she passed out because she was weak and woke up hours later to find herself in a bathtub with Asher carefully massaging and nursing her bruises. Their eyes meet for a brief second and he quickly looks away. He had no idea that she had already woken up.

Her eyes took in her surroundings. She wasn't in the cave. Neither was she in Asher's mansion or her house so where is this place? And why did he bring her here instead of taking her back home? For how long has she been here? "You're at a hotel," Asher spoke up as if reading her mind. "I brought you here because I couldn't take you home in that state and you don't have to worry about your parents. Levi already took care of it." He informed her with a glance. Amery on the other hand was too flustered to make out anything happening right now. Whatever Madeline had bathed her with, still had its after-effect on her. Her eyes were half closed and it felt like she was about to fall asleep for the fourth time. "Why are you here?" She asked in a hoarse voice. She had lost her voice screaming earlier and now all she had left was this tiny squeak and she had no other choice but to make do with it.

"You left remember?" She accused. "You left me all alone. You didn't come back and when you did, y-you pushed me away. You told me that you wanted nothing to do with me and that we couldn't be friends anymore so why-" Her words were cut short with a loud cough.

"Save your strength. You shouldn't be talking about this now." He cautioned whilst rubbing off the dirt on her hair and that of her body as well.

"Your entire body was covered in wolfsbane and that stuff messes with our wolves in ways that I cannot even begin to mention so you'll have to cut down on the questions and focus on getting better first then we can talk later." He added but Amery wouldn't have any of it.

"And whose fault is it that I ended up where I was at the wrong time?" She asked snatching her hands away from his grip. "I want to go home. Please call my parents and tell them to come and pick me up. I won't be seen with any of you."

"And what do you plan on telling them? That you were kidnapped by Levi's psycho girlfriend and that you are not human? Or you'd rather have them take you to a hospital where you would be asked questions about why you are like this, in this state?" "I'd rather be bathed in a pool of wolfsbane before I'd agree to stay here with you." She made to stand up but Asher forced her to sit.

"Listen" He started with a breathless sigh. "I know that you are angry with me and I know that there is nothing I would say at this point that would change your mind about anything and no, I don't blame you because you have every right to be upset but please you can't go back home in this state."

"And why should I trust any word that comes out of your mouth?" She shot back at him. "You shut me out remember? You told me that you hated me and that you didn't want to have anything to do with me so why should I trust you?" "Because I'm the reason why you're still alive right now." He answered almost immediately. "We both know that if it weren't for me, you'd probably be dead by now. I stopped Levi from killing you. You might not trust that Asher that lied to you but you can at least trust this one."

His words touched a muscle and Amery decided to listen to him. She had no choice anyway. She was too weak to go back home even if she wanted to and as much as she was upset, she wouldn't want to be the reason why their world would be in danger. Asher finished up with cleaning her up and helped her out of the bathtub. He carried her naked body Into his arms in bridal style and made his way into the confinement of the bedroom. Placing her gently on the bed, he reached out to her hands to apply some ointment on her injured wrist.

"I'm sorry if it hurts but I'll have to apply this." He informed her beforehand and grazed her wrist with the antiseptic before sealing it up with a bandaid. Amery observed her hand when he was done with it and without uttering a single word, she pulled up the sheets to cover her naked skin as she lay there on the bed as though she was lifeless.

This is the very first time that she would be naked and not feel a thing. Usually, whenever she's close to the boys, she always had a rush of hormones and a high rate of adrenaline pumping through her veins but today, it felt as if those feelings had been contained. She felt nothing. Maybe it had something to do with the wolfsbane. She couldn't tell if it had somehow severed her connection to them permanently or temporarily.

"I'm sorry for what happened to you earlier." Asher began as she made to sit at the edge of the bed, giving her enough space to listen to him. "I never thought that Levi would plan to do something like that to you. I should have been more careful but I let my jealousy get the better of me and I'm sorry for that."

Silence met his confession but still, he didn't stop.

"When I got back and found out that you were in a relationship with Levi, I lost it." He rambled on. "I thought that if I pushed you away then it'll bring you closer to me but I didn't know that it'll result in this. I wanted nothing more than to be with you Amery. Ever since I left, I counted the days till we would be together. I thought that you were waiting for me and I-" He paused and then. "I came back to find out that I had lost you to Levi."

"I know that you might never forgive me but I just want you to know that I am truly sorry." His voice broke down as he spoke. "I can handle you hating me but I can't handle this silence, Amery. I want you to yell and snap at me at least. Just look at me once and tell me that you're disappointed in me but don't shut me out."

The room went silent for a few minutes. The only sound heard was that of their heavy breathing followed by ruffle sounds from the bed as Amery turned to face him. "You and Natasha-"

He shook his head negatively. "Nothing is going on between the two of us. I only pretended to date her because I wanted to make you jealous. I was selfish and was only trying to pursue my interests. Natasha is not my girlfriend. I only have feelings for you Amery and you know that right?"

"I wasn't upset because you dated Natasha. I was upset because you didn't want to listen." She started. "I wanted to tell you from the very beginning that nothing was going on between Levi and I. We were only pretending to date each other because he was trying to protect me from the bullies at school."

"You weren't dating him?" Asher asked In disbelief.

"I'll admit that I did something for him but I never knew that he was-" She paused when the tears welled up in her eyes and settled there. "I didn't think that he'd try to kill me. He promised me that he won't and I blindly believed him like I always did not knowing that he planned to kill me in this manner. I feel so stupid." "Hey." Asher scooted closer and pulled her into an embrace. "It's okay."

"I hate him so much." She whispered bitterly. "And I hate myself more for trusting him. I should have listened when you told me that he was up to no good but I didn't because I believed that he had changed. How foolish of me."

"It's not your fault for believing that someone has good in them. And besides, it's Levi's loss and not yours so don't beat yourself up about it okay?"

She snivelled and nodded once. "Even though he was wrong in trying to kill me, he did help me in a way. When I was kidnapped by Madeline, I had flashes of a woman and a baby in a burning forest trying to escape. I don't know why but I felt a connection between us. It was almost like I've met her before even though I can't remember." She confessed.

Asher was intrigued by the sudden revelation. "A woman in a burning forest? What did she look like?"

"Dirty brown hair, warm eyes and a petite body. She was beautiful and was running away from strange men who tried to kill her"

"Does she have a strange carving engraved on her arm?"

Amery's eyes shot up in an instant. "Yes, she does. How did you know that?"

"Because I've met her." He confessed. "That woman is your mother." He dropped the bomb while Amery looked on as though she didn't hear what he had just said.
