Chapter 17

After Alpha Connor visited Louve at the hospital, he went back to the mansion and did his task as the Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack.

When Alpha Connor left, May and Dolf stayed in the hospital to be with Louve and to check on her if she needed anything. The Alpha commands them to follow what Louve orders them and if there's something wrong, immediately tell him through mind-link. They will stay there until tomorrow morning. In the evening, while Louve watching movie, May prepare the food for her dinner. After the preparation, she approached her with the food tray in her hands and put it in front of Louve.

"Miss Louve, this is your dinner. Do you have anything you want to eat?" May asked her politely.

Louve looked at the different dishes in front of her, there was beef with broccoli, steam fish, chicken soup, and some fresh fruit. It looks delicious and she was satisfied. "Thank you May. This is enough, don't want anything." Louve smiled at her.

"Okay." After she replies she approaches Dolf and gives him also his food and they eat at the other table.

Before Louve going to bed, May talked to her as a friend.

"Miss Louve, I saw your sparkling eyes towards to our Alpha earlier, do you have something to tell me, hmm?" May tease her while smiling.

"Well, let say... I just want to give him back the kindness he had for me. I'm so thankful that he save me." Louve replied to her.

"That's right, Alpha Connor is too worried about you and he didn't leave you until you wake up. I saw the sincerity in his eyes that he really loves you!" May said happily.

Louve was moved and touched by what she heard from May.

"You know, the first day that you are here, he was totally disoriented, he can't decide what to do and we are afraid to talk to him, by the look in his eyes we thought that any moment he killed us all. I'm so happy that you are awake now. How are you? Did you still feel the pain?" May worriedly asked her.

"I am much better now. The pain is still there but I can manage it. Thank you for helping Alpha Connor to take care of me." Louve said while she held May right hand.

"You are welcome. But you don't need to thank me, because this is my duty to take care of our future Luna." May said.

After their girl talk, Louve take her rest and sleep well. While May is take a nap in the couch, while Dolf is standing outside the door.

Meanwhile, in the Alpha office, no matter how much Alpha Connor tries to focus and concentrate on his obligations which he has to accomplish at the moment, he cannot stop thinking about his mate. He cannot stop thinking about her condition. Especially how stubborn and reckless she has been.

He took a deep sigh and rested his back on the couch. He was so deep in his thought that even his adviser has kept rambling about pack stuff, business and royal court obligations while his other executive officers are busy strategizing and brainstorming about a lot of pack stuff but here he is, being drowned in the thought about his mate.

"Initially, I thought that having a mate is only a step or a necessity that I have to do for my long term goals and plans. Never in my dreams that I would feel this way towards her. I have underestimated the pull of a Mate. This kind of feeling is a new territory for me. The feeling of spark and butterflies in the pit of my stomach are feelings that I cannot control and explain." Alpha Connor said to himself.

"Well, I can explain it to you boy. It is because she is someone destined for you. Someone that our divine creator has made as your better half that will complete you. She is someone that we both deserve." Clell said to him.

"What the hell are you talking about? She is not someone who will complete us. She is just a necessity for my plans and goals. I know I may have no choice for the matter in terms of determining who should be my mate is but at least I can set my own path and utilize things that I have." Connor said.

"Yeah, try convincing yourself about that boy. But let me tell you now, you cannot stop something which is destined for you. Destiny is something you cannot play with or predict. It is something that operates beyond our imagination and control." Clell answered him. "Well, watch me control my own destiny! I will not let her ruin my plans, I have laid my future. Now she knows how to fight and has magical power, she will be my instrument, the most important piece in the chessboard for my plans and goals." Connor said as he closed his right big palm.

"Ha, ha, ha. I cannot wait to see you fail in trying to think that way and see how you will swallow all your words. Just remember this, if you do not want to suffer in the future, treasure our mate and do not treat her crap, or else I am warning you! I will not support any of your foolishness when it comes to our mate. Our mate is perfect! And we are so lucky that we are blessed with mate like her." Clell said to him in his mind.

"Have you not seen how breath-taking her beauty is? Even if she is angry or sleeping, her beauty won't stop radiating and flowing. You can see the entire glow around her." Clell will not stop admiring their mate.

He was only teasing his spirit wolf, but in reality, he already fell in love with her...

His spirit wolf has become love-struck and won't stop mumbling about how excited he is for both of them. He is clearly so overjoyed and jumping all over his mind. Dolf and May are in the Hospital guarding his mate while Channon, his Delta, is preoccupied with checking their weapons in the Armory. Andrew seems to be out on Patrol with some other warriors who are assigned to patrol. So right now, he was stuck with his assigned adviser and executive officers.

"Alpha Connor, are you listening? You need to put your mind on track." His adviser asked him as if he is unconvinced with the attention he portrays.

"Yes, I am! So stop hampering me about it." He answered.

And they continued the meeting about the upcoming plans for the Dark Moon Pack. They also tackle the vampire attack in their pack. They suggest the Alpha take care and make a plan for his mate. If his enemy knows that he already found his mate, maybe they will use it against him. So he needs to decide as soon as possible.

After the Executive meeting, Alpha Connor went to his bedroom and drank some wine. He walked to the balcony and stood there while watching the moon in the sky.

While watching the moon that was so bright that night, he thought about his mate and remembered the love of his mother for the Dark Moon Pack.

"This is the pack where my mother grew up and belonged before becoming the Queen of the Kingdom. My father made me take over this pack because there is no other better Alpha that will lead this pack beside the son of a former Alpha of this pack. My mother was the very first female Alpha that led and won over a war against the rogue werewolves during the Dark era of the werewolves.

No wonder my father fell in love with her and offered her marriage.

So it is only right to say that I will be the one who continues the legacy of my Queen mother."

He said while drinking his glass of wine. He decided to agree to his Executive Officer's suggestion about his mate. He makes a good plan to tell his mate about it.

After he finished the glass of wine he decided to go to bed and sleep. He also needs some rest because he didn't sleep well these few days because of what happened.
