Death Wolf Chapter 52

Daniel stands outside the Royal castle, his armour on and an army of hunters surrounding the place. Dark circles evident under his eyes as he stares at the huge gates, wondering what all things they must be doing to his little fiore.

Yes, he regrets letting her go. He curses himself for letting Volkan take her thinking he will protect her and his child.

When he instead failed, bringing her here at the door of death.

To be bloody experimented on and killed mercilessly.

No! He can’t let that happen ! He has to save her!

It’s no longer about her being the prophesied one, it’s about his fiore.

The girl he started falling for deeply.

He failed earlier, too shocked and heartbroken by the truth that the girl he started having feelings for, betrayed him by carrying a child of his very sworn enemy.

He felt betrayed on knowing she concealed the truth from him.

But this time, he won’t let anyone hurt her.

Her absence had made him realise what his little fiore meant for him, it made him understand that maybe she was right to hide her unborn child’s father’s identity.

If he would have known earlier that she was Volkan’s mate, he would have never accepted her in his pack…never!

His little fiore was innocent, she was forced by Volkan…but she herself never betrayed him….she didn’t deserved what elders would be doing to her right now….and she no way deserves to die.

“I wonder how the prophesied one looks like? Man! I am too excited to see our hero!”

Ray says from behind with a victorious smile already lingering on his lips. To only have Daniel sigh.

If only these fools knew ,it was the same girl they hated with their everything.

The girl they tried to humiliate and degrade time and again.

“Bro! Aren’t you excited? I bet the man will be like a hulk with protruding muscl-“

“Shut up Ray. And focus. This is not a fuc”ing game! We have to hurry if we want her alive.”

Everyone stills looking at Daniel in shock. When Ray asks in disbelief.

“Her? The prophesied one is a girl?’

Ray asks, and Daniel barely nods.

“How do you-“

Before he could complete. The elders appear at the balcony of the castle. Shifting everyone’s attention to it.

“What do you want? “

One of the elders speak, to only have the hunters to almost shout in chaos. To only have Daniel to raise his hand, asking everyone to shut it.

Once silence sustains. Daniel speaks up in a voice, clear and authoritative.

“We are here to get the girl.”

The elders look at each other. To only have one of them almost chuckle.

“You stupid hunters! You think we will ask and we will hand over the cursed creature to you? Never! Never you fools!”

The hunters start shouting ,on hearing the elder disrespect them like that. To suddenly have all elders part ways as Andrew enters.

Showing his hand, he asks everyone to silence down. His eyes set at the army of hunters ready to attack them any second.

“Sir Daniel! I apologise for the tone. But the girl is safe here. We will in no way let any harm come to her.”

Daniel clenches his fist, stepping forward. His eyes set in stone.

“Elder Andrew. No matter what you say, I can’t believe till I see with my own eyes. Plus there is no reason for you to keep a girl alive which is prophesied to end your kinds existence entirely.”

Deadly silence extends as Elder and Daniel,stare at each other. To only have Andrew to sigh.

“We don’t need a bloodbath at such a crucial time Daniel. You must be knowing that the summoning is approaching.”

“Retreat. We promise to keep the girl safe.”

Daniel rolls his eyes. Looking at the elders in disbelief.

“You say and I believe? I want to see her alive and well or I swear elders the bloodbath you talk about will be inevitable. And it will be not only here….but in the entire world.”

The elders look at each other in shock. Not expecting this. But it seems hunters were delaying the attack intentionally to gather there forces.

They had thoroughly planned this.

“Yes. All the clans in the world are ready to attack if anything happens to the girl.”

The hunters encourage Daniel from behind. Who speaks with head held high.

I am sorry for being late Thora, but I had to make sure that we win this to save you.

He thinks, clenching his fist. Seeing the elders, afraid and anxious. When Andrew shows his hand.

To only make everyone lower their voices.

“Fine. One of you can enter and see the girl.”

Daniel steps forward and the doors open for him. As he is escorted inside.

He looks around at the lavish place, remembering the way in which he is led. Red carpets laid under his feet. As the guards walk in front.

After crossing through countless rooms and corridors, he is led to a basement. It was quite cold there and that’s when his eyes stop at a figure standing outside the door.

His back leaning against the walk as he was struggling to breathe. Eyes closed and hands clenched.

“Volkan?”

Daniel says,to only have Volkan to let go of his clenched fists. Looking up, he is almost surprised to see him there. As he covers up instantly, putting on his emotionless front.

“Daniel”

He says straightening up. To only stare at him.

“What are you doing here?”

Daniel doesn’t answer, instead he counter asks him. With hatred surging in his voice.

“What you couldn’t do you piece of sh**! I gave her to you thinking you will take care of her, protect her. But look at you, shame on you Volkan.”

Volkan couldn’t retort, self hatred slowly piercing his heart. He just lowers his head as the doors are opened and what Daniel sees made his legs to go weak.

“F….fiore?”

Tears sting his eyes as he sees her tied there. With new bruises and scars all over her body.

The thin fragile body in front of him, nothing like the girl he left.

And he steps forward, to be only stopped by guards.

“You can’t go any further.”

The guards say, but Daniel’s eyes were too fixed on that innocent face that was pale and lifeless. His hands shaking as he tried to touch her, to be only restrained by guards.

“What the fuc*! Volkan! What the hell did you do to her? I swear…I swear I will kill you!”

“Fiore….fiore wake up! Thora! Can you hear me Thora!!!”

He screams, making more guards to enter. Stopping him. While Volkan just stands there with head lowered.

“Thora! My fiore! Please wake up!!?”

“Please!!! I am so sorry… please!”

Daniel falls down on his knees, unable to see her state like that.His hands trembling as he places his hands on the floor for balance.

Tears falling down, as the guards move back. And he regrets letting her go with Volkan.

If he truly loved her…he should have trusted her.

Even if the child was Volkan’s, he should have taken care of them.

Fuc*!!!

He curses, slamming his hands on the floor.Hiz body literally shaking as he hears a voice that made him freeze.

“D….dan?”

He lifts up his face to look at his face and what he saw, made tears well in his eyes.

“Fiore?”

He says to see those orbs back to their innocent brown, staring back at him. A wide smiles comes on his lips as he gets up , holding the bed to approach her.

While Volkan couldn’t help stare at her in disbelief. It…it was impossible….after the injection…it was impossible for her to wake up….how can she be awake?

He gulps moving forward to see his mate’s brown eyes fixed on Daniel.

“Th…thora?’

He stutters. The girl looks at him for a second, to ignore him and set her eyes back on Daniel.

And that’s when Volkan feels his heart break.

She…she hated him. She didn’t even wanted to look at him.

You should be happy Volkan…you managed to make her hate you….she finally even hates even looking at you.

He clenches his fist, his foot step stopping. As he let’s Daniel to approach her. The guards come forward to stop Dan when Volkan uses his Alpha tone. Stopping them.

“Let him”

The guards bow. Stopping. As those innocent orbs of Thora look at Dan with tears in their eyes.

“Y…o..u ca..me?”

She asks and Dan nods, caressing her face with his knuckles.

“I had to my fiore…I am..so..sorry…I am so sorry…for not stopping you then. I was such a fool….I…am so sorry….”

She smiles sadly, trying to use her hands to only find them tied.

“Sh…it … it’s fine…..I for..give…you…..”

She suddenly clenches her fist. Closing her eyes. Creases appearing on her forehead.

“Fiore!”

“Thora!!”

Volkan’s heart bleeds seeing her like it, he comes to her other side. Shouting her name,to only have her move her head to Daniel’s side , almost pleading him.

“Volkan…don…’t…pl…eas..e… don’t….stop”

He stops right there, his hand dropping along with his heart. His eyes met Daniel’s and he lowers his grey orbs, trying to hide his tears.

She didn’t wanted him…she has chosen Daniel over him.

And why wouldn’t she?

Volkan has only given her pain and miseries.

“Da..n…. please…I…need a promise… please…”

She says almost begging. Tears falling down her eyes. As Dan nods, holding her ice cold hands in his.

“Anything my fiore… anything…”

She smiles sadly, to only move his hand on top of her stomach. Daniel’s palm placed on her stomach.

“Pro….mise….me Dan….. promise me…after…I…after I die…you will…. protect my child…..”

“Promise me….you….you will do everything to save it…. please….”

Dan’s eyes widen to only flicker to Volkan.

“But Thora the child is-“

“No….no… please… promise me…..”

That was it , Volkan turns his back on them to hide that tear that managed to slide down his eyes. What other confirmation did he needed? The child was Daniel’s. His mate….his Thora was not his…he lost her to his mistakes the day he rejected her.

She was Daniel’s now….she will the Queen of the hunters.

He pushed her away and now he was no one to claim her back.

He has lost her.

She was happy now and he was no one to interfere in their life now.

He could do anything for her.

If he truly loved her, he will let her go atleast now.

Even if it meant pushing her in the arms of the man , that he seeked his vengeance from.

Even if it meant forgetting his revenge for this man that murdered his family in front of his eyes.

Even if it meant, letting go of the werewolf king title.

And betraying his own kind?

He was ready to do it for her.

For the girl that he has only given pain and sufferings to till now, when she loved a bastard like him with her everything.

He was ready to repent for his mistakes.

“I promise.”

Daniel says and Volkan’s hand tightens on the sword tucked in his waist.

His eyes moving to the two guards that accompanied them in the experiment room.

“Th…ank…you…Dan..than..k…yo…u….”

She says with a sad smile on her face. To only hear a loud thud.

As the two guards standing in the room fall down dead. The sword glistering in the air, as Volkan holds it uptight, shielding them behind him.

His grey orbs meet Daniel’s surprised ones as he nods.

“Take her with you and protect her with your everything. Leave rest on me.”

Dan looks in shock at the Werewolf King helping him instead to save Thor. His sword tainted in b***d of his own kind to protect her.

“Volkan how…they..they will kill yo-“

“Just hurry up and take her dammit! Before I fuc*ing change my mind and kill you instead!”

“Take her!!”

He screams looking at Thora one last time. Those beautiful brown eyes making his guilt to flood in and his grip on the sword tightens.

She had tears streaming down her eyes,as Dan removes all the chains binding her. Picking her up in his arms.

She doesn’t say anything, just stares at her mate’s grey orbs which were emotionless like usual.

And that’s when thudding footsteps are heard as forces come in.

“Hurry ! This side! Go straight and turn left. There is a secret tunnel there!”

Dan nods, going in that direction. With Thora in his arms.

Volkan sees her going away from him, his eyes set on her teary brown orbs as he mouths the last words.

“I am sorry”

Seeing her face for the last time, he turns his back to act as a shield between the guards and Dan.

Taking a deep breath, he lifts up the sword.

Marking the beginning of a war against his own kind, for the girl he has hated yet lived more than anything in his life.

The elders were going to kill her anyways and her only change of survival is by staying in Dan’s care.

Volkan knows he loves her, but he just hopes.

He loves her even more than him.

Because after tonight, he may not be able to save her using his power as the werewolf king.

As he will not be the werewolf king anymore.

He will be a betrayer of his kingdom, and everyone knows what happens to those who betray their kind.

They are killed.

And that’s when he slashes the sword on the guards neck, spilling the b***d .
