Death Wolf Chapter 67 (Book 2)

Elora enters the dungeon. Seeing a body tied with chains. Hanging loosely.

Sighing,she steps closer to him. To find him awake.

“Hi Daniel. It’s been long.”

Daniel barely nods. Seeing the girl he saw as a kid all grown up. Her face , resurfacing the memories of the past making him clench the chains that held him .

Standing in front of him, she places her hands in her pant pockets. Looking at the man whose rugged face has grown wrinkles over the years.

Grey hairs showing in his beard, yet those eyes. Still the same cold and emotionless.

“Now they send you to seek the information? You guys are really adamant.”

Elora doesn’t argue. Pulling a chair, she settles on it. Crossing one leg over the other.

“We have to be Daniel. You see the spirit of the death wolf is rising again. And you of all know, we would hate to have that bloodshed again.”

Daniel chuckles , looking at the girl in disbelief.

“The death wolf? You are fools to think that! That sick wolf is dead okay! It’s dead!”

“Wrong Daniel. He has her. Thor-“

“Shut up! Don’t you dare say her name with your filthy lips you cursed being! I lost my wife….my love because of your! If I hadn’t trusted your filthy uncle! That Volkan! This would have never happened!”

“He…he killed her! He didn’t stop her! He let her go…he let her go to that forsaken tree!”

Elora doesn’t mind his tone. Understanding the frustration inside him.

Continuing.

“No matter what you say. It can’t be refuted that I got a vision and I saw Thora in it. The wolf is summoning again…and we need to stop it.”

Daniel furrows his brows. Almost going still.

“Summoning? No… it’s over…it can’t! It got Thora already! It killed her! What does it even want now!”

And that’s when Elora speaks, making a deadly silence to follow.

“The child. The death wolf summouns for Thora’s child now Daniel”

“It’s calling the child”

“And the worst thing is. It’s using Thora to do it?”

“No…no …it can’t be! It can’t”

Daniel says in disbelief. Thrashing in the chains

“We were wrong all along Daniel. We all thought it was Thora who was the prophesied one. But if that was true….the death wolf would have risen after taking her.”

“But it didn’t.”

Daniel stills. It was true though. They all thought Death wolf will rise after taking Thora and the world will end 18 years back but it didn’t.

Why? No one knows until now.

“It’s because the pure soul mentioned in the Prophesy belonged to Thora’s child not her.”

“It seems even the death wolf was mistaken. Because he took Thora instead to only realize later.”

“But maybe Thora knew this Daniel. She knew she was not the one, so she gave her child in your safety.”

“Giving away her life for her child and letting the death wolf summon her.”

It was all too much for Daniel. His thoughts only going to one person.

Alexandria.

When she asked him about the mysterious forest and the death wolf? Did she had a vision?

Was the death wolf using Thora’s voice and face to summon her.

How did Alexandria knew Thora had brown eyes…no…it couldn’t be….did she really had a vision?

“Daniel. Please. You have to tell us where Thora and Volkan’s child is. Or it will be too late.”

“If the wolf summons her, you know what will happen.”

Daniel was lost in thoughts. Not knowing what to do or say.

He wanted Alexandria safe at any costs but can he let out the secret.

Can he trust these werewolves again when they have broken his trust once?

What if they use her in their nasty names? What if by doing this they put her in danger?

What if they can’t save her like they failed in saving his Thora?

No! He can’t trust them.

He has to do something himself.

“Fine”

Elora smiles. Nodding.

“I knew you will take the right decision. Where is he? Tell us the address.”

Elora asks hopefully to only have Daniel to nod. Hiding the smirk.

He? If only they knew.

“I will take you to him. But you will have to open me first.”

Elora agrees to it, but stops suddenly. Asking him.

“But where is he?”

Daniel’s answer making Elora’s eyes to widen.

“In the mysterious forest itself.”

Alexandria’s pov

I am beyond tired, my thighs are aching and my feet sore. It’s been almost 15 years, of continuous walking.

My stomach grumbled in protest and I decide to take a break. Leaning against a tree, to take out a protein bar from my bag ,which I managed to buy from a human town on my way.

Munching on it, I stare at the red coloured book in my hand. The sign of death wolf engraved on the cover.

Stopping it on the page where the map of the forest was,I check the directions to see that the forest is very close from here.

Barely a kilometre away.

A slight fear roots in my stomach and I debate with myself.

Am doing the right thing?

Dad stopped me strictly, but I can’t help myself. It’s like my soul was taking me to it.

Getting up and dusting my clothes, I take a deep breath. Adjusting the bag back on my shoulder.

Walking in the direction, my heart thuds in my chest when I see a barbed wire fencing in front of me. The forest was less dense here.

Is this it?

The mysterious forest.

I see a board in a corner. Rust coating it, showing it was quite old. The words written on it confirming everything.

Entry banned into the forest. No trespassing.

Tightly clenching the red book to my chest,I look beyond the wires into the wilderness.

It’s dangerous. Should I really?

But mom needs me. She is trapped there somewhere, I need to save her.

With this thought alone, I cross the barbed wires. Not caring about anything.

It was almost night now. And it seemed I was moving in circles inside the forest.

Looking at the same tree I was crossing the 3 rd time now, I settle down in fatigue.

Damn! What’s this? This was so irritating! Why aren’t I going anywhere?

I stare at the map in the book. It doesn’t say anything about it. I am sure I am following the right directions. Then why am I stuck here?

Leaning my head against the tree bark, I felt tired. Deciding to rest here, I move up my legs to hug them. And go off to sleep.

My sleep is interrupted by a voice in my head. And I suddenly look up in shock.

Come my Alexandria. I am waiting for you.

I look around to find no one. And I suddenly felt afraid. How…how can I hear her voice? Was it in my dream? It has to be.

Gulping I lean my head back on the tree bark. To suddenly feel strange.

Like I am being watched by someone.

The aura seemed to change suddenly and that’s when I see what I only read in the book.

A mist of dark clouds comes in from all directions. Leaving the visibility to zero.

I stagger back afraid…not knowing what was happening.

My back touching the tree bark behind as I ask in low voice.

“Wh..o who is there?”

I hear a reply and it was not my mom’s voice. It was something scary and terrifying that shook my very soul.

“Grrrrr”

I hear a low growl and that’s when I forget to breathe as my eyes settle on a pair of red eyes behind the bushes.

“Wh..o … Who are you!”

I ask again. Looking into those red eyes ,that seemed to belong to a wolf.

The wolf growls again to only step closer.

And I try to keep my mental strength. It’s just one wolf Alexandria…we can defeat it. Calm down.

However all my strength faded away when I hear another growl ,followed by another and another.

My throat went dry when I look around and I freeze.

What now Alexandria?

There were around 12 red eyes of wolves looking at me and growling. Surrounding me from all directions.

And to be honest, I have never felt so afraid before.

All my limbs felt numb.

They were of different colours with all their eyes red and I will be lying if I tell you I have seen something like this before.

They start moving closer to me and I stagger back, holding the tree behind me for my dear life.

Fuc*! What now?

Don’t tell me I am going to die like this.
