Death Wolf Saga -
Death Wolf Chapter 68 (Book 2)
Alexandria’s pov
You know there are times in one’s life, when you feel that you never hurted anyone, you never intentionally harmed anyone, then how come such a fate can be bestowed upon you?
When you think life can’t be this unfair.
When you have every reason to doubt the creator and his sense of justice, yet you can’t.
You still trust that divine power no matter what.
And it was me thinking this,as I see the wolves with red eyes closing in on me, surrounding me from all the directions.
I was breathing heavily as their snouts come closer ,my eyes fixed on their leaders shining red orbs.
How is it possible?
They all looked like normal wolves, except for those eyes. Why are they red? Do they have a disease?
They need you.
A female voice is heard in my mind and I blink. It’s… different. The voice was young.I haven’t heard it before.
And what does it mean? Could it be that these wolves are not bad? Do they need my help? Are they in pain?
Before I could stop myself, my hand automatically moves up. And I see the surprise in the wolves eyes.
Hell, Even I was surprised.
What am I even doing?
They were evil. They wanted to kill me.
No one is evil in this world Alexandria. There is good in everyone. You just need to find it.
The voice again speaks in my head and I feel a sharp throbbing in my forehead. Who is this person, how can I hear it on my head?
Who…who are you?
I managed to ask while gulping. My hand still in the air. Just centimetres away from touching the wolves forehead.
I am you Alexandria.
The voice says and I couldn’t understand it. The throbbing stops and I still seeing the wolves moving back from me, except their leader.
Those red eyes fixed at me. As I was laying on the ground ,with the tree bark behind me. With no escape.
“Shh calm down. You are fi..ne now. Trust me”
I say moving closer and the wolf takes a step back. Increasing the distance between us.
“Hey…I won’t hurt you. I promise. Trust me.”
The wolf moved it’s head to a side, and showed me as of it understood me. It stopped moving back and that’s when my fingers touch it’s fur.
Making a smile to come on my lips.
“That’s it. That’s it good boy.”
I say patting it’s head. To only see all the wolves around me go still. No one attacked and even I was surprised as to what was happening.
Until the wolf I was patting growled lowly.
“Shh calm down. You are good now. You are safe.”
I see the eyes of the wolf changing from red to brown, flickering between them.
To settle back at Red.
And it suddenly growled , snapping on my hand. To only have me pull back my hand on the right time.
“Fuc*!”
I curse, falling back further. To only see all the wolves following the main wolves growl . Making my body and soul to tremble.
Sh**!
There was no escape now! They all looked ready for kill.
Without wasting a second ,I get up on my feet to enter into a sprint, with their heavy footsteps following me.
I couldn’t see where I was going.
It was too dark.
But it didn’t stop me. Dodging their advances, by taking random turns I don’t look back.
Determined to run for my life.
My combats thudding on the wooden untravelled path, followed by their heavy paws.
“Grrrrrrrhhhhhh”
Their growls echo behind. And I did the mistake which everyone says not do.
I look back at them over my shoulder.
To find them just few meters behind.
Shit! Shit! Shit!
Lost in looking behind,I miss the out grown branch of the tree on my path to only have my foot to get stuck on it and me to stumble forward.
A shriek leaves my lips as I roll down the hill, trying to hold onto something.
But couldn’t.
The wolves however didn’t stop. Running after me, despite the steep fall.
I don’t know how long the fall lasted, but everything felt numb now.
My rolling body finally comes to a stop and I try to move, to only feel a sharp pain in my back.
Fuc*!
I think I broke some bones.
And my vision was also blurry. What’s this sharp pain in my head?
How bad was I hurt? What’s the wet thing running down my arms and legs?
I couldn’t even lift myself.
It was aching everywhere.
I was laying on the dried grass with my chest pressed on the ground. I try again getting up, to only fall down.
“Aggghh! Sh** man!”
Through my side vision I could see the wolves surrounding me from all sides. Growling lowly.
And I never felt so vulnerable before.
One of them nudges on my leg while other nudges my arm.
As if checking I was alive.
And I could only hold onto the dried grass, tightly in my clenched fists. Holding in a scream.
They continue this for next few minutes. Till their leader moves closer to me.
It’s snout, moving closer to my face.
And it’s heavy breath hits my ear. Taking everything in me, to hold my breath and not move.
Pretending to be dead.
It sniffs me, growling lowly. And that was it, my lungs were protesting and I couldn’t hold any longer. Letting out the breath our eyes again met.
And I knew I was dead.
Letting out a soul numbing growl and opening it’s muzzle.
It was ready to tear me off. It literally pounces on me and I close my eyes.

Nothing?
I hear a painful whimpers of the very wolf which was going to attack me. And I open my eyes to only have my heart thud in my chest.
A strangers back was on me, a long cloak trailing behind him.
As the wolf was under him, it’s neck held by a long collar like thing connected to a stick held in the man’s hand.
The wolf was thrashing, crying to be released.
However the stranger had no mercy. Tightening the grip of the collar. He sees the body of the wolf going still.
To finally let it go.
The wolves cries silent down and the wolves around me begin to growl.
Seeing the man kill one of their kind.
And they surround him from all the sides.
I was loosing consciousness, the sharp pain in my forehead worsening.
But I still wanted to see the face of the man just once before I surrendered to darkness.
As if some power was listening to my wish, almost immediately. The person turns around to look at the enemies surrounding him.
And that’s when I see him.
He can be in his 40’s but looked to be in late 60’s
His face was unkept, with long beard and rough skin . Clothes torn and old, like he has not changed in ages.
Traces of white hair could be seen in his brown locks ,which were long tied in a ponytail.
Running his hand through his long hair, he takes a long sigh. Seeing the wolves.
And that’s when his eyes met mine.
Making the world to go still.
No! This can’t be possible! How?
I remember this face from the dream that I had the other day….and I had no doubts that he was the man who I saw sleeping with my mother in it.
But how is it possible?
My vision was going hazy, my strength leaving my body.
Yet, I couldn’t look away from those eyes.
That looked back at me.
The grey outlining them , an exact replica of mine. And for a second I saw the coldness in them getting unveiled.
As they soften on seeing me. Shock covering his features.
I saw a wolf ,ready to take advantage of his lost and oblivious state. Approaching bhim from behind. But before I could even warn him.
I was welcomed with darkness.
