Death Wolf Chapter 89 (Book 2)

“Momma? Is that really you?”

“Yes.My daughter. It’s me”

Thora says hugging Alexandria. Kissing her forehead, her eyelids, her cheeks. Showering her with k****s.

As Alexandria broked into sobs. Hugging her tightly.

” But how mom? I thought…I thought Than took your soul?”

And Thora holds Alexandria’s face in her palms. Sadly smiling at her.

” He never took it Alexandria. I gave it to him.”

” I…um. I was too tired of living my life. Of my pains. Of the struggles. I wanted to leave everything behind.”

” But I…I was a coward.”

” No matter what. I shouldn’t…have left you. I am sorry daughter…I am so sorry.”

Thora cries and Alexandria cleans her tears. Holding her hands in her.

” No mom please. I am…am so happy you are here. Please don’t say sorry.”

And they pull each other in a warm embrace again.

” I came back for you my daughter…the boy made me realise how much you needed me….how wrong I was to leave you……he really cares for you.”

And Alexandria looks at her with surprise. Eyebrows furrowed.

” Who mom?”

And Thora smiles sadly.

” Thaneos”

” He really loves you”

Alex’s heart thuds in her chest. Moving her head in a no.

” But mom! He seperated me from you! He took life of so many innocent girls. He is…he is not a good person mom…he kidnapped me. He forcefully took me!”

” Yet he never touched you Alexa. Yet he never once hurt you.”

” No matter how much you hated him, he always loved you.”

And Alexandria goes silent. Her heart beating faster, hearing his name only. What was it? Why does she feel like this.

” Yes he took me and all those girls. But it was to relieve our souls from the pains.”

” We would have suffered for years after rejection after our mate left us. But he saved us from the torment of those years by taking our souls”

Alex was silent. Clenching her fists, looking at her lap. It was true she couldn’t refute it.

He always took care of her.

He never touched her without her permission.

It was him who saved her from those male wolves in the dungeon.

She called for him and he was there, protecting her.

And not only that, he even promised to save everyone for her.

” He is fighting his own people for you Alex. He is willing to mend, to change, to repent.”

” Just for you”

” I…I don’t know momma. I used to love Silas…I think I still do. But when I see Than.”

” I feel different. I feel safe. Protected. I am not able to understand mom.”

Thora smiles. Kissing her forehead.

” In the end ,the decision is yours my daughter. And we all will stand with it.”

” But remember. “

” In our life the one who doesn’t find you deserving for him.”

” The one who thinks you are too good for him.”

” Too worthy for their love”

Alexandria just stares at her mother. Confused and perplexed. When they hear a loud scream outside. And they nod at each other.

Knowing it was time for them to fight for their people.

It was time to enter the war.

……

Elora looks at her trembling hand in disbelief.

To only find the cause and have her soul to shudder.

The dried leaves in the forest have started displacing, as slow yet strong winds enter. Their intensity increasing with every passing second. Pitch dark clouds cover the sky, making a thunder to roar.

Indicating his arrival.

” Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr”

A low sound reverberates from him. It’s pitch increasing. Making some of the wolves to whine, tuck their tails between their legs and bowing.

The ground was trembling under everyone’s feet , as they see cracks developing in it. The ground even rising from some places, uprooting the roots of tree that stood around.

Everyone stills. Seeing the upturn of events.

Or rather the true power of the man, they thought was dead.

The descending of the god of death.

Earlier he was controlling minds, but now. He was playing with the very balance of mother nature.

He controlled the lands they stand on.

He was the ruler and they all? Just intruders.

Strong winds starts blowing. Blinding everyone as the leaves and debris, starts flying around. Moving their hands in front of their eyes.

Everyone stills, yearned to see their killer with their own eyes.

And see the Irony.

It was the sight of the most beautiful wolf they had ever seen.

His bones starts shifting. The bloody torn clothes he wore, getting ripped off. To take form into a shining black wolf, triple a normal wolves size.

Eyes silver, fur black and claws even darker.

” Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr”

He roars again. His eyes only fixed at Elora. And next anyone knows. He enters into a sprint and within seconds at a lightning speed.

He had Elora pinned under him.

” No..pl….ease…”

Elora begged. Afraid. His snout just inches away from ripping her by her neck.

She shifts into her dirty brown wolf. Trying to snap back at him, thrashing. When thaneos growls so loudly at her staring into her wolves eyes, that whimpers leave her. The petite wolf yelps seizing it’s thrashing.

Showing him her neck. Submitting with seconds.

Elora’s wolves b***d red eyes stare into his shining silver ones. And she could see all the people she hurt and killed.

The flashback of the people she hurt , hitting her all in once. Their images , the sound of their pleas, beggings , children crying . Her head bursting with their voices, their begs for mercy.

” No ..stop….no ….Noooooooo!”

She begs, trying to avoid his eyes.

Begging him to stop it.

But he instead. Grips her wolves neck with his claws. Forcing her to look at him.

Meeting their eyes.

Showing her of her evil deeds.

And just like that the red in her eyes starts changing into pure white.

As he sucks on her soul from her body. It slowly leaves her body.

“Mercyyyyy!! Noooo! No…noooooooooooooooooo”

But for Thaneos. The word mercy didn’t meant anything. She shifts back into her human form . Her legs and arms frailing, thrashing.

Everyone looks at the scene in fear.

Their souls trembling.

For the wolf in front of them, was here not just for their death. But to reap their karma.

To show them what all evil they did in their lives and make them pay for it.

No one was a saint.

Everyone there knew have done some evil for once in their lives.

And today, they all will pay for it.

” Mer-cy! Mer-…”

That’s it. Elora’s cry stops in between. As her eyes start turning bitch black. Her body entering into tremors, like it was in a state of shock.

And then.

Nothing.

Her thrashing seizes. Body drops limb and eyes as black as night go still .

She was dead.

” Grrrrrrrrrrahhhhh”

Thaneos growl echoes ,as he wasn’t just content with her death.

Nudging her dead body, he urged her to move. Throwing it around like a ball. Making her hit the tree around again and again.

Growling at her to get up.

Ripping apart the flesh of her neck. He makes her neck to seperate from her body. Throwing it at a distance while continuing to seperate each and every limb from her dead body.

The scene was horrific.

Everyone’s soul trembled seeing the man’s cruelty. But he doesn’t stop.

And why would he? When the humanity inside him was dead.

Once done with playing with her dead body like it was a damaged toy , he looks around for more.

In search of souls.

While Elora’s body was no where to be found. There were just pieces of flesh, b***d and bones. No body left.

But he didn’t stop here.

Looking around he wanted more.

And he leaps and pins random wolves. Not caring who they were. To look into their eyes and show them their evil deeds.

Ending them by taking their souls from their bodies. Leaving corpses with lifeless pitch black eyes behind.

There was no stop to him.

He was death, in every sense.

And there was just one way to escape it.

To Run.

Everyone started running around in chaos , desperate to save their lives.

And he roars again looking around in madness.

His thunderous snarl competing with the thunder above in the sky.

Making the earthquake to worsen, it’s tremors getting more intense.

And they feel the ground they stand on moving.

A demarcation being made.

What started as a small crack, now widening to resemble more of a cliff.

And Thora screamed to everyone.

” Run to the other side everyone! Run!!Hurry up!”

As if getting a direction in this chaos.An escape from death. Every one started running. Jumping over the crevice, which keeps on widening.

Leaving Thaneos on one side.

Alexandria opens Silas’s chains in desperation. Tears leaving her eyes as she rugged on them. Not caring about her burning hands.

Once done, Silas pulls her into his arms. Kissing her forehead. Tears leaving his own eyes.

” Little one”

” Little one”

He whispers, pulling her into his embrace. While she stands still, mind lost somewhere else.

” Come on Alex! Silas! Hurry up!!”

Volkan screams. Asking them to come to the other side. As Daniel , Volkan and Thora helped people escape

Holding Alexandria’s face in his palms, Silas cleans her tears.

” Nothing will happen little one. We will escape this together.”

” I love you….I won’t let anything happen “

He says, kissing her face. But she stands still, looking down at her hands.

” Come”

Holding her hands in his.

He urges, walking towards the other side , while limping. Pulling her along and she follows him.

She may be going on the other side with the man she thought she loved. His hands in hers. A happy future, awaiting her.

But her heart. It wasn’t content. It was trying to tell her something was missing behind.

Something ,she has left.

Looking behind her, she looks at Thaneos’s beast form. Seeing him killing men. Roaring. Hitting trees.

On a spree to kill.

The ground below him shifting. The thunder above hitting the land around him.

It was hell.

And she was leaving him in it.

” I promise. I will save him”

His words echo in her mind and her footsteps slow down. He did save Silas, his hands were held in hers.

He gave away his everything for her promise.

And now when he is lost , and needs her?

She is leaving him?

“If I own…I claim everything. Your soul, your heart, your body, your mind. Everything. And if I don’t?”

” I own nothing little dove”

He has loved her too deeply for his own good. To the extent of his insanity.

He loved her.

His little Dove.

“The one who thinks you are too good for him.”

” Too worthy for their love”

” Is the one who actually deserves you Alexandria.”

Thora’s words made her footsteps to stop just at the corner of one cliff . And Silas looks back at her in surprise.

” Little one? What happened?”

He asks her. And she just stands there, looking at Silas. Volkan , Daniel and Thora.

Another tear leaving her eyes

” I ca-n’t”

She speaks lowly. When another tremble hits the ground. Making the gap in the crevice to widen. And few wolves who were going to jump over it, fall down into it’s depths.

Their painful yelps slowly fading as their bodies fall down.

” What are you saying Alex! We need to hurry! We don’t have time!”

But she refuses.

Loosening her grip on his hand that held hers., making Silas to looks back at her in disbelief.

” Little one?”

Her teary grey eyes met his concerned ones and she sadly smiles at him.

” I am sorry Silas. I loved you alot. And still do.”

” But….I can’t leave him to die”

Everyone goes still. With Daniel screaming.

” No daughter! You can’t Alex! You will die!”

With Volkan joining him, begging her to not make this mistake.

” Don’t be stupid Alexandria! No one can save him! Can’t you see! He doesn’t even recognises himself!”

” I still have to try”

Alexandria speaks. Looking at Thora. Who doesn’t say anything. A sad smile on her lips as she nods instead.

And that’s all Alexandria needed.

That trust. That nod. That told her she was doing the right thing.

That the man behind her.

The man that loved her beyond words and comprehend.

Meant everything to her.

” No! You…won’t Alex! You won’t! No…no…no…I can’t let you leave me little one…I won’t let you go…”

Silas pleads her. Holding her face in his palms, when they feel another tremble hit the ground and that was it.

” Thank you for loving me Silas”

“If possible please forgive your little one”

And that’s it. As soon as the tremble hits, she pushes his chest with all her force. Making his body to roll over and fall on the other side of the cliff.

” Noooo! Alexandria!!! Noooo! Stopppp! Please!”

She hears their begging behind. But she just sadly smiles at them.

” I love you all”

Cleaning the tears running down her eyes, she looks at the beast in the centre of the storm. And runs towards him.

In complete contrast to others who were running from him to go to the other side.

She goes towards him.

With nothing but determination in her mind and love in her heart.

She was going to bring him back.

She was going to save him from himself.

Even if it takes her life for it.
