Death Wolf Chapter 90 (Book 2)

The ground was shaking, more cracks developing in it. But the humongous wolf as dark as night was oblivious.

To busy snatching the souls of not so innocents.

Her small footsteps, stop just few meters away from him. As she breathes heavily, shielding her face from the high intensity winds blinding everything.

” Thaneos!!”

She screams for him. Her voice inaudible in the chaos. And with shaking steps she moves forward.

Her hands trembling by her side, heart thudding and brain telling her not to. But she does.

Moving more closer.

Ignoring the chaos around her, ignoring the people pushing past her for their lives.

Ending another wolf, Thaneos throws his body aside. His silver eyes searching for his next target.

When he spots a little girl walking towards him.

” Thaneos… please stop!.”

She speaks. Her eyes teary and lips quivering. And he doesn’t waste a second. Running towards her to lunge. A growl thundering from him.

Her petite body hits the rough ground behind with the impact of his frame, making a sharp pain to hit her head. And she curses.

As an excruciating pain entering her skull.

However she didn’t get any time to recover. As Thaneos big wolf hovered over her, snarling at her.

” It’s me Than. Y-our Little Do-ve”

” Pl-ease stop this madness….thi-is is not you.”

” Y-ou ars not evil Thaneos. I..kn-ow”

The wolf stops to state at her. Not doing anything. Making Alexandria to hope he was listening.

Daring , she moves forward her palm slowly. Hoping to touch him to calm him down.

Her fingers centimetres away from his head. His silver eyes narrowed at her.

” It’s me Thaneos”

When he suddenly growls at her, daring her. Fear enters her mind as those silver eyes show no sign of recognition.

And before she could stop him.

His claws coil around her neck, choking her. Making her breathing to go rugged.

Her chest moving up and down in random rhythms. As more tears leave her eyes.

” Co-me back Than…it’s not…y-ou”

” Pl- ease for m-e…for her…for you-r Selene?”

His eyes flicker back to brown , but just for a second. And next, he lets out a growl that made the floor they laid on to tremble

His grip on her neck tightening. And she found herself loosing her strength.

Her lungs protesting.

Is this it? Her end. She wonders looking at his deadly eyes with her teary ones.

Her vision of those silver eyes blurring as a throbbing pain enters her head.

When she hears her voice.

Give in Alexandria. Let me out.

It was her wolf. Or rather Selene. The moon goddess herself.

And Alexandria could only ask desperately. Having never shifted, she doesn’t know what to do.

” But how? I don’t know Selena”

Imagine me.

Came the reply and Alexandria does that. Imagining the room where she was in her dream. Imagining seeing her in the mirror.

And that’s it.

Her bones start cracking. A sharp pain breaking each and every bone in her body as she shifts into her wolf.

Screaming in pain.

And next they know, a white light emits.

Throwing back Thaneos from her, making his frame to hit a tree behind.

And on the groud stood a wolf that made the by standerd to gasp in disbelief.

She was a pure white she wolf.

Double a normal wolves size.

Her white fur in complete contrast to Thaneos black one, with those grey eyes shining bright in them.

” Grrrrrrrrrrr”

It was Selene’s time to roar at Thaneos. And he roars back, agitated and raging.

Circling each other.

They begin the fight of one of the greatest wolves in history. Clawing, slashing, snarling at each other.

Biting. Tearing away their flesh.

Selene may be smaller than him, but she was faster. While with each passing second Thaneos grew only more impatient. His blows brutal.

Slicing her hind legs and back, he made her white fur get coated in b***d. But she doesn’t stop.

Leaping to sink her canines into his neck, making him shake her off. To throw her in the air, and hit another tree behind.

She gets up again, ready to attack again.

When another tremble shakes the groud, and Thaneos found himself faltering. The ground on which he stood sinking deeper. Too lost he didn’t realise when a tree from behind got uprooted and was going to fall on him.

And Selene, without a second thought. Leaps at him. Pushing him back, covering her own body on top of him.

Her wolf covering his large frame, when the tree crashes down on her back. Making her senses go numb.

Thaneos silver eyes, stare at her beautiful grey ones in shock, his angry growles at her silencing.

And he just studies the stupid wolf , perplexed. Disturbed.

Why did she save him?

While her body couldn’t take it anymore, and it drops on top of his, under the weight of the tree.

Exhausted, tired, defeated.

Her tears falling on his face and her breathing turning slow, hitting his neck. As Selene whispers her last words.

” I…am sor-ry…Than

… please forg-ive me”

She couldn’t hold on anymore,due to the numbing pain in her back.

Her limbs were useless,the blow at her back has seemed to broken her spine, making her give up.

For him. To him.

She shifts back to Alexandria’s human form. With clothes torn,body coated in b***d and breathing rugged.

Her b***d coated trembling fingers struggle to move up , touching the soft dark mane of his chest.

As Alexandria drops her face on his chest, listening to his thudding heartbeat.

Finally accepting death in his arms.

But he had some other wish.

Rage courses through him, as he found her not responding. His attacker laying still on top of him. Daring to save him.

Not moving anymore. Not attacking.

And he again roars. Turning the tables. Pinning her petite form under him.

He roars ferociously, asking her to roar back.

To shift back, to hit him, to snarl.

But she doesn’t. With vision blurry and tears falling down. She just sadly smiles at him . Still running her small hands on his thick fur.

” Grrrrrrr!!! Grrrrrr!! Grouuuuhhhhhh!”

He snarls. Challenging. When he has had enough. Looking into her teary grey eyes, he was ready to snatch her soul.

The ground under them started shaking with high magnitude shocks. But they remain like this.

” I…Lo-ve yo-u Than-eos”

She speaks her last words as Thaneos tries to snatch her soul. And suddenly he was pulled into her world.

Her world of karma, of goodness. Of selflessness.

He sees her feeding birds, helping a squirrel, healing a wounded deer.

Her thoughts hit him of always wishing good for others. Helping others. Placing them first.

Followed by what others thought of her. How they wished for her.

Oh god! You are an angel!

How can you love everyone Andria?

This world needs people like you Alexandria.

There was nothing evil. Even if death wolf tried he couldn’t find a single thought of evil in her.

Her soul was too pure, he hasn’t encountered one like her before.

And he couldn’t seem to take it.

It was too good to be taken from this world.

The girl was too precious.

But she was loosing her light. Her eyes were closing. He couldn’t see more of her good.

He wanted to see more. To know more of her goodness he has never seen before.

To get to know her.

But she struggled to stay awake. He nudged her face with his muzzle gentle and she just sadly smiles.

Her last thought hitting him, making him stare at her. Driving away all the darkness in him, to fill him with light.

No matter how evil resides in your heart Thaneos, your goodness will always surpass it.

I trust you Thaneos. I trust your goodness. I know it will defeat your evil.

You may be villain for some,

But you will always be my hero.

Remember it.

And that’s it.She closes her eyes and he finds something drop in his chest.

A strong tremor hits the ground, making the ground they stood on to open up.

It was impossible to escape now.

Death was calling him.

However he continues to stare at those teary eyes that have closed down. To feel more of her body that has gone limp under him.

To feel those small sparks erupting.

When he hears her last thoughts, before she closed her eyes.

No matter how far your little dove flies.

She willl always come back to her cage.

To her safe heaven ,which is you, Thaneos

Because ,she loves you.

And that’s it. That’s all he needed to make his decision.

Those silver eyes look around at the chaos .

And he growls loudly. Raging at the falling rocks and thunder striking along.

Asking it to stop. To not hurt the angel in his arms.

But all in vain.

Scooping her small frame in his huge body. Her hugs her, hiding her in his belly. Covering her up entirely.

And a final strike of thunder hits the ground they stand on. And that was it, the ground opens up.

With the screams of Nooooo echoing behind and the world literally falling on them.

It takes them down along to the centre of the storm, from where there was no coming back.

With his big frame protecting her.

Shielding her.

They fall into the depths of unknown. His last words being.

I love you too, my Little Dove.
