Death Wolf Chapter 91 (Book 2)

Deadly silence follows around. As the storm seemed to subside along with him.

The tremors seize, dark clouds start fading as everyone stands in the corner of the cliff, looking down.

” No…. Alexandria Nooooooooooo………..!!!”

Silas screams. Holding his hair in his hand. Looking around, anxious, afraid.

” I ….no…this…this can’t happen…

” Alexandriaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!”

He screams making his voice to echo around to get nothing in response. Volkan falls down on his knees, crying. Holding his face in his hand.

As Daniel stands behind Thora. Holding her. Stopping her from falling down. She was silent, but he knew there was chaos and storms underneath she was hiding.

” No..o”

She speaks only one word and next they know. Silas was running back, screaming orders at the wolves who just stood there in grief.

” We have to find them! Move!”

” Just don’t stand here! Hurry up DAMMIT!”

He orders. Bringing everyone out of their faze. And they nod. Bowing to their King.

Shifting into his wolf, everyone sprints to the uneven ground beneath. To find large piles of rocks and dead bodies around.

Their heart dropping immediately.

But Silas doesn’t stop. Uprooting and moving the trees and rocks aside, trying to find them in this land of death.

Volkan and Daniel engaging along, desperately searching for the lost. While Thora just stood there. Knowing it was impossible to find them.

Unless.

Closing her eyes, she opens her hands. To find the winds carrying along various scents.

With the scent of b***d the most distinguishable.

Ignoring it, she tries again. Furrowing her brows, concentrating. While praying in her mind continuously.

Please… please.. please…be safe.

And that’s when she smells it. Her child’s faint scent. It was very light but it was there.

Jumping over rocks, ignoring everyone , her tired eyes search for her desperately.

When she comes to a standstill in front of a pile of debris and rocks in front of her. Surrounded by similar ones.

” Th-is one. Remo-vr them!”

She screams. Climbing up the pile, to remove the mud and rocks herself. Her eyes teary.

Dying to see her once.

Others rush towards her, helping her. Searching like crazy.

To suddenly go still, seeing what layed underneath.

All they could see was dark fur covered in b***d. And their hands trembled as they pushed aside more rocks.

” Noooo! Nooo! Daughter please! Alexandria!”

Thora cries ,fearing the worst. When what she saw instead made her heart to thud rapidly.

The death wolf.

Layed there.

But they couldn’t find her. They look at a distance but nothing. Where was she?

Thora had no doubt. The scent was coming from here. But where?

Volkan move forward to touch Thaneos’s chest. Trying to check for his pulse.

To have his hand to retreat.

His heart stopping. As everyone was looking at him.

“Volkan? What’s it?”

Thora asks to only have him move his head in a no. While staring at his limp form blankly.

And everyone gulps.

Everyone moves back , loosing all hope when suddenly Silas’s eyes stop at something held in Thaneos’s Wolf’s arms.

Or rather someone.

Afraid, with no hope in his heart. He dares to move closer and pull back Thaneos’s limp arm, to only have his heart stop.

Securely held by him. Shielded by the storm. Was her.

Alexandria.

Moving aside the rocks, Silas couldn’t believe his eyes. As he pushed Thaneos’s form to pull her out.

” Little one! “

He screams. And everyone rushes to help him pull her out.

Her face was flawless. Her eyes closed with not even a single cut or mark. And her chest.

It was heaving slowly.

” She is alive!”

He exclaims. And tears of happiness fall down everyone’s eyes. They couldn’t believe this, how anyone can survive falling from there.

But again, it was Thaneos.

He has done this impossible.

Silas places Alexandria’s face in his lap. Kissing her forehead with eyes teary and words broken.

” Li..title one…open your eyes.. please…we are here. We all are here Alexandria!”

He begs to only see her eye lids move.

” Wake up ..come on little one”

He begs again. And those beautiful grey eyes slowly open to land on his teary ones.

” Daughter!”

Volkan , Daniel and Thora rush. Holding her hands. While Thora cleaned her teary face.

But Alexandria.

She just stares at them blankly. The word leaving her lips making everyone to lower to their eyes while Silas clenches his fist.

” T-han”

She breathes out. Trying to look around. Pushing herself up from Silas’s lap, even when it ached like sh*t.

” Th-an!!”

She cries again. Turning around. When her eyes stop at his limp form and she pushes herself from Silas’s lap.

” Little one you are hurting your-“

Silas’s words die down as Thora keeps her hand on his shoulder. Asking him not to stop her.

And he understands, clenching his fist more tightly.

” Th-aneos?”

Desperation evident in her voice as she drags her weak body bruised body towards him. Touching his fur to no longer find those sparks there.

The first tear falling down her eyes.

” No .. it’s can’t be. You…you can’t lea-ve me!”

She screams reaching his face, pulling it up in her palms. To see his eyes closed on her. His chest not moving and a lone tear drop trailing down his eyes.

He…he was crying for her before he died.

No…he can’t die! He can’t!

He is the strongest wolf in the world! He can’t die like this! He can’t leave me alone!

” Thaneos!!!! Wake up! Wake up Than!! Please!!!”

She screams. Shaking him, begging him. But nothing.

No dark clouds, no winds, no sparks nothing.

It was too silent. The peace didn’t felt victorious. It instead filled everyone with dread.

” Please… Thaneos please!!”

Everyone looked at her crying for him. Seeing the hidden love, no one realised till now.

Seeing how the beast has given his life for the beauty.

How in the end , he has proved to be a hero for his Queen.

” No. You can’t leave me Thaneos. You can’t”

” I am here with you Than. See.”

” Wake up! Please!”

” I have to tell you how I feel! You can’t leave without hearing me!”

” You have to get up!”

She starts screaming. Hitting his chest. Trying everything, to only end up in dissapointement.

Placing her cheek on his chest, she hugs him. Proclaiming her love for him in front of everyone.

” I love you too Thaneos…I love you too.”

She sobs, saying it to him. But she got no response. Making her cry more.

Silas hand on her shoulder drops as he hears her say it. A strange heaviness settling in his chest.

As he looked at the beast, laying there lifeless.

His footsteps retreating.

His little one was no longer his. If she would have truly loved him, she wouldn’t have fallen for Than.

His love was shallow. It was just the matebond that was deep.

He loved her yes, but maybe a little less than the beast in front of him.

He deserved her more than him.

” Wake up! I beg you! Please”

Her teardrops fall on him. To be followed by a million others,as they saw rain falling.

It’s tapping sound, the only sound audible.

And suddenly, they see the dark wolf change back into it’s human form.

And Alexandria cries more, seeing his eyes closed on her.

Holding his face in her palms, she looks around. Screaming at the men.

” The healing potion! Give it! Hurry!!”

” It’s no use my Queen-

” I said give it dammit!”

One of the men comes forward with a bottle of the potion. And she doesn’t wait, taking it and pressing it to his lips.

But he doesn’t take it…he doesn’t move.

” Darn it!”

Cursing ,she empties the bottle in her own mouth to press her lips on him. Giving it to him, kissing him.

Feeling his soft warm lips touch her, making her cry more.

But nothing.

He doesn’t move. His body doesn’t respond.

She tries harder, kissing him more passionately, but all invain. Moving back, she sees those potion drops fall down from the corner of his lips.

And she cries harder.

Her sobs echoing around.

” Thaneos…”

Her fingers trembling as she moves it on the cuts on his body,to stop on the biggest and deepest one on his torso.

And she finds the b***d flowing from it turning darker.

Almost black.

And that was it. The final evidence.

” No! No! You can’t!”

Only Light can draws away darkness Alexandria.

Selene’s voice speaks in her mind and Alexandria stares at her trembling hands.

Looking at his dark black b***d.

Light?

They say I am the summouner of light?

Can I really?

And without thinking anything she picks up a knife to slice her waist. Making everyone behind to scream in horror.

” Alexandriaaaaaa!!! Noooooo!”

But it was too late. Staring at the red b***d flowing her veins, she presses her wrist on his torso. Letting their bloods to intermingle.

Letting his dark b***d to clash with her red one which could summoun light.

She stares, just stares.

Hoping for a miracle, but nothing.

She was herself loosing too much b***d. She has to stop giving him.

But she refuses.

Her body turning weak ,with her face falling on his chest. When she hears an uneven beating of a heart.

Thinking it to be her own, she was welcoming darkness.

The best calming her.

When instead she hears two heart beats thudding together. Making her eyes to widen.

Struggling to lift herself up, she couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

A white light coming from his wounds , spreading in his body and a smile broke on her lips.

Unable to believe, she is brought back to reality.

When a tight grip on her wrist. Lifts up her hand from his wound.

Stopping the b***d transfusion.

To only have her feel those sparks. Looking up she finds her wrists, pressed to his lips.

As he k****s it, sealing her.

His black eyes looking back at her. As he whispers lowly.

” Have I ever tol-d you little Dove? That you even look beautiful w-hen you cry?”

” Thaneos!”

She screams. Throwing her body on him. And he catches her, holding her in his embrace.

She continues to cry and smile. Not able to believe it.

Making her the happiest person alive and he takes in her scent, calming down. Feeling himself in heaven.

” Stupid! I was so scared! Why did you do that?’

She cries more. Holding on to him tightly. And he just chuckles, kissing her cheek.

” I would do it again anytime for you my little dove”

He says and she hits his chest. Looking at him with fake anger.

” You won’t! Are you insane!”

” Oh try me little dove. I am insane. But only for you”

Holding her face in his palms. He traces her lips with his thumb.

Asking her.

” Won’t you k**s me now?

He asks. And her eyes widen as she blushes. Feeling shy.

” But everyon-“

She doesn’t get to complete. As he crashes his lips on her like it’s the end of the world.

And everyone around smiles in happiness.

A bright white light emitting as a halo around them. Showing the blessings of the moon goddess above on the couple.

That has united despite all odds.

It was a happy ending for them. While Daniel look at Thora’s back.

Hoping a happy end for them as well.

” Th-ora?”

He speaks , calling for her. And she turns around to look at Volkan instead.

Ignoring him.

” Quite a barbaric look Volkan. Rogue lifestyle seemed to have gotten into you”

She taunts referring to his long beard and he chuckles. Rubbing his neck in awkwardness. His words stuttering as he dares.

” I am sorry for everything I did Thora. I don’t-“

” I know”

She says, moving closer to him. Smiling softly.

” I know your sufferings Volks. And I forgive you “

Volkan had tears of happiness in his eyes. He couldn’t believe this and he hugs Thora, who hugs him back.

While Daniel just turns around, hiding those traitrous tears.

She was alive and breathing. Was all that mattered.

He will stand with whatever decision she makes. Whatever makes her happy.

Even if it’s without him.

Even if it’s with Volkan.

” I am so happy Thora. I can’t tell how what you have given me.”

Thora nods.

“However”

Pulling back from him. She places her hand on his shoulder.

” You must realise. That somehow whatever happened is over now. That you have to move on from me Volkan.”

” You have to take back your role, fulfill your duties.”

” Live as the undefeated king till the end”

” Not done crazy lover, who wasted all his life regretting.”

He nods. Sadly smiling. She was right.

War, power, authority.

It gave him happiness. He was made for it.

And with this, Thora walks towards Daniel. Whose footsteps have stopped and was standing still with his back on her.

” Going without your wife, dear husband?”

She asks. Hugging him from behind. And his mind goes blank. His heart thudding.

Turning around, he looks at her disbelief. Not able to say anything.

” N- o…I…th-ouhj”

Thora chuckled seeing him so lost like this. Holding his face in his palms to smile looking into his eyes.

” Thank you for everything Daniel”

” For taking care of our daughter. For bringing her up like your own. For loving her. For loving me.”

And he just blinks. Too happy to express.

” Now? Let me love you back. Dan”

And with this she crashes her lips on him. Taking him by surprise.

He soon recovers from the surprise.

Kissing her back passionately and Alexandria couldn’t help cheer them from behind, with everyone else smiling.

Volkan walks beside Silas, placing his hand on his shoulder.

To pat him.

” Come on boy. We have a Kingdom to rule.”

” When do we start the training?”

Volkan asks and Silas smiles. Hitting a lower jab to make Volkan to block it.

” What about now?”

And they chuckles. With everyone having broad smiles on their lips.

The people around cheering as they have finally proved victorious.

They save saved the world, and there was a happily ever after.

With them realising that true love was not in holding others back, but letting them go. To find their true happiness.

And if destiny wants.

Those who are meant, do become one.

As the little dove always finds its way back home.
