Desert Heat Chapter 47

{Allie’s P.O.V.}

“That s**t hurt,” I said to Dorian while I laid in his arms. Shifting hurt so much. I could feel my bone readjusting and being dislocated. The fur coming through felt like my skin was on fire. Mercury finally came forward. I remember looking at Venus and Jupiter and their colors were amazing. We looked nothing like the other wolves in the pack. We were unique. According to Dorian, we all had coloring that the others had.

When Dorian turned into Bandit, he towered over Mercury. Bandit was literally double her size. When I saw Mitch and Eddie, it was the same for them too. We were tiny in human and tiny in wolf form. We were still bigger than an ordinary wolf, but small for werewolves apparently, even as females. Dorian said that Sam had been the smallest female had ever seen, until us. It made no sense, but it is what it is. Mikey said it was that saying ‘Big things come in small packages.’

“You get used to shifting, baby,” Dorian said while caressing the side of my head with his hand and holding my other than was draped across his stomach. I still hadn’t told Dorian that my mother told me that I was pregnant. The most I could be was one month. Dr. Quin told me if that was the case, then I had only four months left. Apparently, a wolf’s pregnancy was only half of that of a human. And because I was carrying an Alpha’s baby, my baby would be huge.

There would be a possibility I would have to do a C section because I am so small. Even as a wolf, if the baby were too big, it could be dangerous for me to deliver naturally.

“Dorian, I have something to tell you,”

“What is it?” I sat up and made him sit up with me. I looked at his gorgeous face and just smiled.

“My mom told me something before she left,”

“What?” I smiled again. I took his hands and placed them on my belly. I just kept smiling at him. It took him about ten seconds to realize what I wanted to tell him. His eyes lit up and the biggest ran across his face.

“Congratulations, Dorian Shaw, you’re going to be father,” Dorian jumped out of the bed and started screaming at the top of his lungs. He was running in circles and jumping up and down like a kid on Christmas morning.

“I’m going to be a father! I’m going to be a father!” thank god our room was soundproofed because his screaming would have woken the whole house.

“Dorian!!” I shouted at him. He stopped and came into the bed and kissed me so hard.

“Thank you, baby! Thank you!” He kissed me again.

“Well, I’m not sure what you’re thanking me for. You’re the one that got me pregnant. This is your doing,” I told him. He laughed and just smiled so big. I had never seen him so happy. He grabbed my left hand and played with the ring he gave me and placed another hand on my stomach.

“This. This is what I’m thanking you for, baby. Not only will you be wife, but you’re going to be the mother to my child. You have no idea how happy this makes me,”

“I’m happy too. Thank you, Dorian,” tears fell from my eyes. “Thank you for finding me when I was lost. Thank you for fixing me when I was broken. Thank you for loving me when I didn’t love myself. Thank you for giving me the family I never thought I would have,” Dorian gave me a soft and romantic k**s. A k**s filled with love.

“No, more tears,” he says and wipes my face with his thumbs.

“These are happy tears,” I tell him. “We should go to bed; I have an appointment with Dr. Quinn at ten in the morning for an ultrasound. It should tell us how far along I am, and she said I need to drink a lot fluid before I go,” We laid down again, and I snuggled close to him. His arms holding me tight.

I smiled internally and drifted to sleep in the arms of my future husband.

The next morning, I broke the news to everyone at breakfast. This included Sin, Leah, Brandon, Mikey, Eleanor, Benjamin, Amber, and Ronnie. All the women screamed at the top of their lungs and the men huddled together in a giant bro hug. Benjamin was the only person who just smiled and nodded his head. Internally, I was sure he was jumping up and down the way, Dorian did the night before.

“Now sweetheart, are you sure about this? Do not get my hopes up,” Eleanor said.

“I doubt my mother would lie to me,”

“Fair enough! Oh, I am over the moon! I am finally going to be a grandmother again!” I just smiled and laughed.

“I think your mom is the reason why I thought you were an only child,” I said to Dorian. He looked at me funny. “When we first talked about having babies, she made it seem like didn’t have any grandchildren, but she has five from Amber,”

“Dollface, she doesn’t have any from Dorian,” Amber said sipping her coffee. I just smiled.

“Come on, baby, it’s just before ten,” Dorian told me and lifted me off his lap. When we were heading to the pack hospital, and I got the feeling we were being followed. I stopped, turned around, and sure enough, everyone was following us.

“Why are you following us?” I asked. Dorian just started laughing and no one said anything.

“Oh, come on! We’re all excited! The first baby between us!” Sin said. I rolled my eyes and kept going to the hospital. When we got there, I went up to the reception desk and saw that it was Ava.

“Hi, Luna! Congratulations on the engagement!”

“Thanks, Ava. I’m here to see Dr. Quinn,”

“Sure, let me page her for you,” a few seconds later, Dr. Quinn came around the corner.

“My this is a lot of spectators,” she said and laughed. I shook my head and just ignored the audience. “This way Luna…and family,” she said and led the way to a small room.

“Okay, hold on! Not all of you are coming to see this!” I shouted. They all stopped and looked at me. “It’s a vaginal ultrasound!” I shouted. All the men stepped back and sat on the bench outside the room. “Thank you,” I turned and went to the room.

“Luna, please take off your pants, and underwear and cover yourself with this,” she said handing me a hospital drape. Dorian kept me covered while I undressed and sat on the bed. “Okay, Luna, feet here, and slide down a little more. Good. Now, this is going to be a little uncomfortable okay?” I nodded my head. I looked over at Dorian was freaked out by the wand she was holding. I just shook my head and laughed.

Dr. Quinn inserted the wand and moved it around a little bit. I stared at the monitor waiting to see something.

“Oh, hold on,” Dr. Quinn said. She adjusted the wand back to where it was a second ago. “Ah, there you are,” she said. I looked and saw a tiny blip on the screen. She zoomed in. “See, there. That’s the heartbeat,” I saw a rapid flickering on the screen. Tears immediately started to flood my eyes. Dorian kissed my hand and my forehead.

All the women in the room were whispering their excitement. Dr. Quinn kept the wand in place and starting to take screenshots of the baby and measurements.

“Luna, based on what I am seeing here, you are less than two weeks. Honestly, it would be too early to detect the pregnancy with an at-home test, and even a b***d test could give a false negative this soon. However, since it was your mother that told you, I’m not surprised we are catching it this early. Spirits always seem to know before we do,”

“Can you be a little more accurate doctor?” I asked

“Best guess, nine to eleven days,” when she told me that, I knew exactly when I conceived.

What are you thinking? Dorian asked me

I know when this happened.

Either the Monday my heat ended or the same night we marked each other.

I looked at Sin and Leah, and I felt something in my gut. The more I looked at them, the more both of them were glowing, and I don’t think it was because they were about to aunts. Could it be?

“Doctor, is it possible to check them too?” I said pointing to Sin and Leah.

“Whoa! I am not pregnant!” Sin shouted.

“Same!” Leah agreed.

“You two sure about that?” I asked them. They knew exactly why I was asking. “Couldn’t hurt to look since we’re already here,” I said to them. And gave them the look. “Doctor, do you have the time?” she nodded.

“Fine, if it will get you off my back! But I am telling you, b***h, I am not pregnant, and I have no problem telling you I TOLD YOU SO” Sin said and Leah reluctantly agreed.

“Congratulations Gamma, it appears that you are also expecting. See there, that’s the heartbeat,” Dr. Quinn said. Sin looked at me with wide eyes.

“I told you so,” and smirked at her. “Hey, Mikey, you need to come in here!” Mikey came in and saw Sin on the bed.

“What the hell? Honey, what are you doing?” Sin started to get teary-eyed. Mikey didn’t know what to do.

“Mikey, Sin’s pregnant too,” I said to him while pointing at the monitor. Mikey looked and saw the fetus’s heartbeat. He looked down and saw the wand inside of Sin and knew it wasn’t a prank.

“Whoa! I was not expecting that! I thought we came for Allie?” he said.

“You did, but I felt it deep in my soul that we’re all pregnant,” I said to him.

“Are you mad?” Sin asked on the verge of full-on crying.

“No, honey! I’m not mad at all! I’m just surprised. But this is amazing!” he shouted and kissed her. He turned around to face Dorian who was out of view of Sin’s lady parts. “HAHA! We’re in this together man!!” they gave each other a huge five and hugged it out.

“Alright you two, calm down a minute. I get the feeling that Brandon will be joining you in a second,” I said to them.

“Allie, stop. Brandon and I haven’t done it enough,” Leah said while Sin got dressed.

“Girl, all it takes is one time,” I said to her.

“You’re wrong Allie, I know I am not pregnant. Sin was too obvious because she and Mikey have s*x all the time,”

“Doctor, how far long is the Gamma?” I asked.

“Based on what I have seen, I would have to say she is the same as you Luna, between nine and eleven days,”

“It’s the night we marked our mates. It has to be,” I said to Leah and Sin. They both looked at me like I was insane. Sin was fully dressed and off the table. Dr. Quinn cleaned up the bed and put new sheeting and sterilized the wand. “You two, face the wall,” I said to Dorian and Mikey. “Brandon, come in here please!” I shouted.

“What’s up, Allie, is everything … What the hell?” he said as he saw Leah undressing and getting on the bed.

“Brandon, stand by Leah and hold her hand,” I told him.

“What’s going on?” he asked.

“Allie thinks I’m pregnant,” Leah said to him with all the attitude in the world.

“Why would she think that?”

“Because I am, and Sin is too,” I said to him

“Sin’s pregnant too!?”

“Dr. Quinn says she is as far along as I am, so I’m guessing the night we all marked our mates,” I said smiling to him.

“But that was our first time,” he said.

“Yeah, and it only takes one-time my friend,” I say to him. As I am saying things to him, Dr. Quinn inserts the wand into Leah and started to maneuver it around. We wait in silence as Dr. Quinn looks around. After a minute or two,

“Well, well, well…” Dr. Quinn said stopping her hand.

“What is it?” Brandon asked holding on to Leah’s hand.

“Luna, you have a gift,” she says. I smirk. That only meant one thing.

“Congratulations Betas, you are also expecting,” When she says this, Dorian and Mikey turn around to face Brandon. “Right there, that little blip is the baby, and the flickering of light is the heartbeat,”

“No way,” Leah said and looked at me.

“Told you so,” I said in a know it all tone of voice. “Doctor, how far?”

“Give me a moment Luna while I measure the baby,” Leah is full-on crying and Brandon is kissing her hand like crazy.

“Brandon, are you mad?”

“Why would I be mad!? I’ve always wanted to be a father sweet cheeks! I mean it’s sooner than I expected, but it’s okay! It’s better than okay! This is the best feeling in the world!” Brandon exclaimed. He jumped up and all the guys did a bro hug. I looked down at Leah and smiled at her. She smiled through the tears.

“Luna, I believe you were right about all of you having conceived at the same time. Based on the measurements, the Beta is also nine to eleven days,” Dr. Quinn giving me this look like I am crazy.
