Desert Heat Chapter 49

{Dorian’s P.O.V.}

My ears were ringing, and my head was spinning. I opened my eyes to the muffled sounds of people screaming and running around.

“Dorian! Wake up, man!” I felt someone slapping my face. I look up and see Brandon. He had b***d streaming down his face, but he seemed unharmed other than that. The first thought that came to my mind was,

“Allie?!” I looked down and saw her unconscious in my arms. Her head was bleeding. I checked for a pulse, and she was still alive.

“Come on, we need to get her to the hospital!” Brandon said. I stood up and bent down to pick up Allie, but I was having trouble getting my footing.

“Let me! You need to take a minute! Mikey, get over here!” I see Mikey running over, and he helps me to my feet while Brandon picks up Allie. We all head for the hospital.

“Allie, baby!” I yell for her, but she doesn’t respond. I take a minute to think, then the smell of b***d hit me. I look at myself, but it’s not coming from me. I look at Mikey, and he is fine. Then I look at Brandon who has Allie, and then I see it. B***d is running down her legs. The baby!

“Dr. Quinn!!!” Brandon shouted. I see the doctor run over to us.

“Beta, we need to get to a room right now!” Mikey helps me stay on my feet as I try to stay close to Allie. She needed to be okay. The baby needed to be okay. But what about the others?

“Sin? And Leah!?” I shouted

“They’re good man, they’re being checked out by nurses, you and Allie took most of the blast,” Mikey said to me. We get to an empty room, and Brandon gently lays Allie down while Mikey helps me to the couch in her room.

“Dorian, you good man?” Mikey asked. I nodded my head. I just needed a moment.

“I need a fetal heart monitor in here stat!” I heard Dr. Quinn shout outside the door. In a matter of seconds, a whole staff of nurses rushed in and started to strap Allie to the equipment.

“Doctor, the baby,” I muttered out. No one responded. There is chaos in the room and my head was still spinning but was getting better with every minute that passed.

“We need to take her into surgery, she’s bleeding internally!” I heard the doctor. Without saying another word, the hospital staff rolled Allie out of the room. I wanted to follow them but couldn’t find the strength to stand.

“Brandon, go!” I shouted. I saw him run out the door. I take a few minutes to control myself and started to feel better. Then I heard my mom,

“Dorian! Baby! Are you okay?” she said checking me up and down. My dad and sister were right behind her.

“Where is Allie?” Amber asked

“They just took her into surgery,” Mikey answered. I could see my mom’s face lace with worry and fear. She held my hands, and my dad put his hands on her shoulder. Amber was trying to keep herself from crying.

“Where is Brandon?” Amber asked

“I sent him to wait for Allie to come out of surgery,” I said while holding my head. “I just need a minute,” I said closing my eyes. It didn’t take long for me to get back to normal. Bandit was trying to heal me as fast as he could so we could be ready for Allie when she came back.

About twenty minutes later, Sin and Leah ran in.

“Allie? Where is Allie!?” they both asked hysterically.

“She’s in surgery, honey,” Mikey said. “How are you? How is our son?”

“He’s fine. We’re fine. We are all fine,” she said while pointing to Leah and her son as well. I needed Allie and our baby to be okay. Once I had enough strength, I got up and we all went to go wait with Brandon in the hall by the surgery doors.

Hours passed, and Allie hadn’t come out. I was getting restless and more than pissed off. Someone sent a bomb to my home, and it was intended for Allie and me. Someone targeted my family, and I was more than pissed. Whoever this was going to pay with their life.

“GET EVERY HUNTER TEAM BACK HERE!! I DON’T CARE IF THEY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A CONTRACT. WE WILL TAKE THE LOSS! I WANT THEM BACK HERE AND SEARCHING FOR THE FUCKER THAT JUST TARGETED MY FIANCE AND OUR UNBORN CHILD!!!” I screamed at Mikey. He jumped on his phone and started to make the calls. Just then, the doors opened, and Dr. Quinn came out.

“Doctor! How is she?” My father asked before I could. She just looked at all of us and sighed deeply.

“The Luna will be fine; however,…” she paused

“However!?” my mother exclaimed.

“I’m sorry Alpha, we were unable to save the baby,” I felt like I was hit by the two-ton truck.

“Oh no!” my mother fell to her knees while my dad held her. Amber was crying in silence, while Brandon and Mikey held onto their mates who were also hurting. I stumbled back and held onto the wall. My legs gave out from underneath me tears flooding my eyes. I couldn’t breathe and I felt my heart-shattering. Our baby was gone, our first child was taken from us.

“Doctor, do you know what it was?” I ask.

“A girl,” she responds. The girls cry hysterically, and Amber comes next to me and pulls me into a hug, and I break down. I have never once cried the way I was at the moment. My daughter, my princess, gone.

{Allie’s P.O.V.}

My head felt like it was hit with a baseball bat and could figure out why it was hurting so much. Then I remembered being at the gender reveal party, I was going to open my box to see what we were having, and then Leah telling me not to open it, and then,

“Dorian! Dorian!” I shouted.

“Allie!” I heard his voice and looked that he was right next to me. “I’m right here,” he said while calming me down. I looked around and see everyone, and I mean everyone. I realized that I was in the hospital. Everyone’s face was darkened with sadness when they looked at me. Why were they looking at me like that? I looked at Dorian, and he looked as if he wanted to tell me something. No. God please no.

I reach down and touched my stomach. It was flat. My baby bump was gone. Tears immediately started to stream down my face.

“No… Please no…” I begged while looking at Dorian. “My baby, where’s my baby?”

“Allie…” he said my name with tears in his eyes.

“NO! NO! WHERE’S MY BABY!! DORIAN WHERE’S MY BABY!!” I started to thrash and scream. I lost my baby. My baby was gone.

“Allie!” he tried to hold me down, but I kept thrashing in my hospital bed.

“AHHHHH!!! MY BABY!!!” I could hear the machines beeping like crazy, but I didn’t care. This had to be a nightmare. There was no way. I did everything right. I did everything to protect my baby, but it was gone. Why was my baby gone?

“LUNA!” I heard someone call out to me, but I didn’t register who it was. Dorian was holding me down by the arms, but I kept shaking my head and kicking my legs.

“MY BABY!! GIVE ME BACK MY BABY!!!” I keep screaming and crying, searching for my baby until I had no energy left. I finally gave up the fight, and just laid in the bed crying my heart out and screaming at the realization my baby was gone. My heart was broken. I had never felt this much pain. Not even when Devin beat me, not when Jessica beat me, nothing I had experienced in my life hurt this like this. I promised my mother I would take care of my baby, and I failed her. I failed my baby.

“Take her off of the machines!” Dorian shouted.

“Alpha, I must advise against that!”

“NOW!” he boomed. I started to feel them removing all the wires and pads from my body and finally the IV in my arm. Dorian picked me up, sat in his chair, and cradled me in his lap and I just cried. I cried for me, I cried for Dorian and I cried for our unborn baby. “Everybody out!” he shouted.

“Dorian, our baby…” I said through my cries. “What was it?” I asked him.

“A girl,” I broke down completely. “I know, I got you. Cry as long you need to,” so I did. I cried. I cried until I felt myself losing the battle to stay awake and just let the darkness take over once again.

{Dorian’s P.O.V.}

Allied cried for almost two hours. Once she fell asleep, I gently put her back in her bed. I walked into the hall where everyone was still waiting. I heard Amber on the phone,

“I’m going to stay a little while longer…yeah…No, I’m okay…Yes, we are all okay Ronnie…uh huh…tell them I love them…Yeah…I love you too,” she hung up and saw me standing here.

“How is she?” She asked.

“Sleeping,” Amber gave me another hug.

“I’m going to stay to help out okay, she needs the support,” I nodded my head and we walk over to everyone else. Sin and Leah are passed out, laying their heads on Mikey’s and Brandon’s laps.

“Take them back to your rooms,” I told them

“They won’t go, man,” Brandon said. Mikey shook his head indicating the same for Sin.

“Take them anyways. If they get mad, tell them to get mad at us,” Helena said. Brandon and Mikey picked up the girls and took them their rooms.

“You two go to bed too,” they nod their heads.

“Everyone go home,” Amber said to our parents. “Allie is going to be out the rest of the night at this point, and it’s late. Go rest, eat breakfast, and then come back in the morning,” they all nod and leave. My parents come up to hug me, and mom k****s me on the cheek.

“You can go, Sis, I’m going to stay here,”

“You need to shower first,”

“There’s a shower here,”

“Okay, let me go get you clean clothes to sleep in. When I come back, you can shower while I watch her, and then we can trade-off. I’m not leaving my little brother or my new sister,” she said. I nod and she left to go get me clothes. I go back into Allie’s room and sit in the chair holding her hand while holding her engagement ring between my fingers.

“Allie, baby, I don’t know if you can hear me, but I promise you, I will find out who did this to us. I will find the piece of s**t that murdered our daughter, and I will personally kill them. I will bring justice to our daughter. I need you to be a strong baby. I am going to need you on this. We will get through this together. We belong together. I am going to marry you, and I will give you the family that you deserve. That we deserve. I love you so much, baby. You can get through this. I know you can,”

“Hello Dorian,” I heard a familiar voice. I turn to see Selene in Allie’s hospital room.

“Selene,” she smiles and sits in the chair next to me.

“I’m so sorry for your loss, this was not supposed to happen,”

“What do you mean?” I asked her

“This, Allie losing her baby was not written in her story,”

“What are you saying, Selene?”

“Someone broke the rules and cheated; therefore, causing a ripple effect in their destiny and yours. Your daughter was meant to do great things when she became the Luna of this pack, and someone did not want that to happen,”

“Are you telling me that someone has deliberately altered our destiny? Why?”

“I can’t answer that. What I can tell you is that this person will stop at nothing to get what they want,” When she said that she looked directly at Allie. When I turned to face her again, Selene was gone.

Someone was after Allie, and her pregnancy was in the way. This made my b***d boil. Someone coveted what was mine and killed my unborn daughter all because she was in the way. I was not going to rest until I found out who this person was. Allie is mine, and she will always be mine. I would go through hell and back again to protect my future wife and avenge my daughter.

Whoever this was just f****d with the wrong Alpha. I let myself be tamed because of my love for Allie. Now, my love for her will bring out the beast that I have kept hidden away. The old Dorian Shaw is making a comeback, and no one gets in my way.
