Chapter 39

Ava felt a hand snaking around her waist and lifting her up. She snuggled closer in the warmth of her arms. A tinkling stifled girly giggle came from the side.

She opened her eyes slowly to take note of her surroundings and blushed furiously when she saw that she was surrounded by a whole bunch of people scattered here and there while she was lifted up in the arms of Van. Candice was walking sheepishly beside them. A sweet smile adorned her lips. Ava lifted her gaze up to stare into Van's eyes and found him already looking at her adorably.

She struggled a little in his arms to break away from his bridal lifting hold but it was too tight to break free.

"Van!" She whisper screeched. "Put me down. I can walk on my own!"

Van smirked at her and replied while giving her a naughty wink, "I like lifting you up, love. That way you're bound to me."

She noticed they had entered inside the house that was booked for them by the host. Each house was booked for three alphas in which there were four separate rooms for each. She blushed harder when she noticed that there were many people already there other than them.

Van dropped her on the bed softly when they reached their room. She gave a glare to Van for his stubbornness but inside her heart, she was happy as a blooming flower. After all who wouldn't love to get so much unconditional love from her husband? Suddenly a small body pounced on her. It was the second love of her life, Candice. If Van was her heart, then Candice was her soul. She couldn't live without any of them.

Ava laughed loudly when she felt sweet small kisses on her face from her daughter. She grabbed Candice by her waist and sat her down flush astride her body. She felt Van going behind her and pulling both of them in a bone crushing back hug.

This was love. This was life.

After talking with Candice in a childish voice for a while Van kissed both of them on there for heads and told them to rest for a while because there wasn't anything for them to do in the meeting. So they decided that Candice and Ava will take a rest until Van attends the meeting and after that, they will explore around the pack house and then attend the evening party.

After giving a chaste kiss on Ava's lips Van took his leave. Kai was bound to mingle around a little on Van's behalf and do all the necessary work and arrangements that they needed to do.

On the other hand, Christian was feeling very restless since he woke up in the host's house this morning There was something stirring inside his heart. He knew something was different today. Something unusual was going to happen kind of feeling was coming from inside his heart.

But he shrugged it off thinking this might be the impact of the new strange place. He was feeling so uneasy that he was planning to fly on the first chance he could get in the next morning after the evening party. Every alpha came with his whole family and here he was attending it all alone with only his beta. He was feeling nauseous.

He didn't leave his room until it was the time of the meeting. He entered the meeting hall and greeted everyone briefly but politely. There was a total of sixty alphas in the room.

The meeting started and finished.

Everything they needed to discuss was explained in detail and after almost 4 hours the meeting finally ended. He didn't stop to say engaging goodbyes to everyone and just flew out of there. He was getting sick with every passing minute. He couldn't understand what was

happening to him.

At Evening Party

Kai entered the party looking all handsome and dashing. It's been merely 12 hours and he was already dying to get the fuck out of this place and take Bella in his arms.

He couldn't believe that he can't live without his mate even for a few hours. He tugged at his tie a little to get some air in his lungs. If this meeting wouldn't have been so important, he wouldn't have come here leaving Bella all alone.

He walked inside a little and roamed his eyes everywhere. The party was in full swing. Dancing bodies of mates and unmated people on the floor and swirling and laughing bodies near the bar. Happiness was dripping in every nook and corner. Nothing seemed out of place.

He went to the bar and ordered a drink for himself. Van and Ava were supposed to enter the party in a few minutes with Candice. Their little princess took a little extra time to fulfill her wishes.

He chuckled a little when he

remembered the look of

exasperation and desperation on

Van and Ava's face an hour ago. Van was almost dying to pull his hair out of his head but the horror of looking ugly stopped him every time. Finally, when Candice was all ready to rock the big party, that's when they both took a deep breath of relief and went to get ready themselves.

Kai shook his head a little while smiling and pulled his head up.

That's when his eyes collided with the man that he hated so much. Alpha Christian was standing a few feet away from him looking all shocked and sick to the guts with an unbelievably green face.
