Diana's lips curled into a subtle smile. She looked like a completely different person from before. The innocence and purity that used to shine in her eyes were long gone. Her face wore a smile, but her eyes betrayed no hint of it. Instead, they held a cool detachment. Chloe couldn't help but notice how much Diana had changed. Her appearance was the same, yet she seemed entirely different. Connor's gaze drifted downward, settling on her leg peeking out from beneath her dress. Beneath the black fabric was a single, beautiful glass slipper. But just one.

Connor's brow furrowed slightly, his voice steady, "Diana, you shouldn't be here."

Diana's smile widened, "What? Did I crash your party with Chloe?"

She lifted her dress hem deliberately, revealing the emptiness beneath. Connor spoke, "Have you forgotten who Claire is?"

For years, Diana had narrowly escaped Claire's grasp, always steering clear of her. Diana would never show up where Claire might be, yet here she was, alone. Diana seemed unfazed, a glint of disdain in her eyes.

"No matter what Claire has in store for me, Uncle Connor, you'll still have my back, right?" she said.

Connor's frown deepened for a moment before he wrapped an arm around Chloe's shoulders, his tone light, "I've told you before, I can protect you now, but not forever. Plus, it was Chloe who saved the day today. You should thank her."

Diana finally turned her gaze to

Chloe, her eyes seemingly frosty. She once adored Chloe, liked her from the moment they met. Chloe was bold lively, alluring, and full of charm everything Diana wanted to be. Back then, Diana thought Chloe shone like a star. She wanted to be close to her. The time spent filming together was one of the few moments Diana felt truly at ease.

But now, looking back, Diana saw only deceit, secrets, and fake affections. She fixed her stare on Chloe, her lips curling into a

sarcastic smile, "Chloe, I havent net

gotten around to congratulating you and Uncle Connor. Oh, I made a

I

wedding gift for you two-hope you like it."

With that, Diana pulled a wooden box from her bag and handed it to Chloe. Chloe took it without any visible reaction and opened it. Her brow furrowed sharply when she saw what was inside: a music box. Through the clear glass, a zombie bride could be seen. Her

skeletal, her dress stained was

blood. Most strikingly, the bride had only one leg. Blood-stained foam swirled around her like snowflakes, and the music playing was

hauntingly eerie.

Connor saw it too and took the box, his face showing clear anger. His voice was cold, "Diana! Don't push it!"

But Diana just laughed, "Push it? Oh, it's nowhere near enough. The pain you two have caused me, I'll make sure to pay it back tenfold, a hundredfold!"

With that, Diana turned her wheelchair around. Connor's face was dark with anger. Chloe stepped up, gently patting his back, "Let it go, don't let her get to you. Sometimes what feels right to us might not be good for someone else."
