Dr. Luna -
The Fairy’s Forbidden Mate Chapter 69
"Well, I see you got right down to business Titus." Weston winked looking at the girl's neck.
"Treat her well, Titus." Dex said gruffly and then placed a hand on Rhea's shoulder. "I'll see to Rhea tonight so you can enjoy your evening with my sister."
Weston gasped loudly and then looked at Rhea. "So, when you were talking about marking your mate you mean to mark Leviathan! You are so brazen. Wow... such bold tenacity right there." Weston whistled and rubbed the back of his head. This girl was in a league of her own.
Rhea smiled and looked up to meet eyes with the blonde-haired beauty beside Titus. She wasn't sure if she should say something to her. If she should reassure her that her relationship with Titus wasn't anything. Then she also had this part of her that wanted to tell her to treat Titus well. She felt protective over all the hurt he had been through and she didn't know this girl. Only that she was Dex's sister.
"Titus is a good guy....... please be good to each other." Rhea said quietly. Not sure if she was out of line or not.
Lila giggled and looked up to Titus. "Aww she is protective of you." Titus looked at Rhea and smiled. She was being like a big sister now even though she was the younger one.
"I promise... I'll take good care of him." Lila met with Rhea's gaze and nodded her head. Lila was not a jealous girl. Actually, she was the opposite of Rhea in many ways. She was quiet and wasn't big on violence. She was not a fighter but instead was a great diplomat. She would be the perfect compliment to Titus' aggressive nature.
"So how do you think it is best to continue on with this... how do I denounce a mate to take on a new one?" Titus chuckled a bit but was not sure how to do it without Rhea getting put too much in the limelight.
"Why don't you just ask Leviathan." Weston said jokingly.
Rhea looked up to Titus and then shrugged. "Maybe we should? He is probably going insane right now thinking you are about to touch his mark." Rhea scrunched her nose up and Titus chuckled.
"Wait... you really can summon him instantly? That's real?" Weston raised his eyes in shock. He thought she was just teasing over that part.
Rhea took a few steps back and away from the others. She very rarely called for Lee. She never wanted to interrupt him. She closed her eyes and spoke into the quiet of her mind. Lee... Instantly, before she could even finish, he was there.
He showed up at her side and looked up in minor shock at the audience in front of him. He then looked back to Rhea. She was biting her bottom lip and looking adorable as hell. She had called him. Something had to be wrong. She never called for him. He didn't care who was there. His mate called him. He wrapped his arms around her and lowered his head into his mark. To his relief it was still untainted. It still smelled like him. He was going crazy. He was pacing back and forth unable to settle down. His beast wanted to let loose on the world and rampage in anger.
"Are you okay?" He quietly asked and glanced up to their audience.
"Mmmhmmm... did I bother you? Were you busy?" Rhea asked hoping she didn't interrupt anything important.
Lee chuckled quietly. "I was just thinking of all the ways I planned to kill, and torture Titus was all. Nothing major."
"Wow you're vindictive." Titus grinned and Lee flickered his attention to the back of the room. He took in the situation of Titus holding the girl in his arms. A girl who had a fresh brand on her neck.
"So, the baby boy finally found his mate." Lee smiled understanding the situation. "This is a very good thing. I was afraid I was going to have to kill the only brother I ever had." Lee joked again though the others in the room were a bit tense not understanding he was joking.
"It is a good thing because I was afraid that after getting a taste of me, she would never go back to you." Titus teased back the friendly banter picking up between the two of them.
"Alright boys... enough." Rhea tilted her head back into Lee. "We had to let a few more people in on our little secret. Hope that is okay..."
Lee looked at her and smiled. "Baby, I told you. Whatever you decide to do is alright with me. Say the word and I will go along with you."
"Except if I say I want to go and visit the Merrow..." Rhea teased quietly, and he let out a low growl letting her know that is out of the question.
She reached her hand up and flicked him in the forehead. "Don't growl at me already. Or I will really give you something to growl about." Rhea grinned up at him.
His eyes flickered at her in amusement before he let out a small chuckle. She was the only person who could ever get away with treating him like that. Instead of being angry, like he would with anyone else, he enjoyed it. He loved how comfortable she was with him. And she should be. She was his mate, his world and his life.
"It looks like the fairy princess has quite the way with men." Ruby smiled and leaned back into Grayson. She could feel the connection between the two. She could finally relax. Her angel was not being mistreated. How could she not see it before? Right now it was so incredibly obvious.
Lee smiled at Rhea and kissed her forehead. She met with his eyes and shrugged. "So how should we proceed next? I was thinking about just saying that I wasn't ready to say who my mate is for now. But we were not sure of the best way for Titus to proceed." Lee straightened up and looked at Titus. "In this situation... less is more."
"I was thinking. I hope this isn't out of line. And if Lila doesn't mind. Couldn't Titus say he marked her but then his true mate showed up and he decided to take her instead?" Dex said thoughtfully trying to add to the solutions.
"No." Lee answered immediately. "That doesn't look good on Titus. A future leader can not afford to appear wishy washy. It is best to go with the plan that he only said it to keep her protected. This would be understandable and actually make him appear like a kind king." Lee had raised Titus up. He wouldn't allow his name to be tarnished. Especially over protecting his mate.
“།
I guess that makes sense." Dex said and nodded his head. "I mean I could always claim her as my mate but like Rhea mentioned that probably would not work anymore. There would be too much suspicion."
Lee smiled and looked at Dex directly. "Also, I appreciate it. But it wouldn't work for another reason. I was barely able to tolerate Titus acting as her mate. And I watched him grow up. He is like a brother to me. I wouldn't be able to tolerate it with anyone else." Dex nodded his head. "I understand that. Rhea is your mate. I have nothing but respect for her. I look at her in the position she is in. She is my superior. I want you to know that I accept her as your mate. I accept her as being above me." "That's right... she now is above all of us." Weston sat his chin in his hands as he thought about it.
"That's where the backlash would come in when word gets out she is his mate. We can handle the other dragons though. As long as we all respect her position the majority will follow suit. Then we will have to get rid of the few bad weeds." Grayson said in a low threat. There would be dragons they would need to eliminate.
Lee nodded. He already knew that in order to keep peace there would be dragons that would need to be taken care of. It would mean culling some of their own if they wouldn't accept it. She was his mate no matter what and her position was absolute. She was someone who could command the dragons if she ever chose to.
"You two look right together. It feels... it just feels like it makes sense. You guys can feel it too right? It is like a missing piece was suddenly put together." Ruby was fascinated with how acceptable it felt. Seeing their deity with Rhea it almost felt like it was a piece of destiny that was always meant to be. She understood their draw to Rhea. She was their deities mate. Even not knowing that their instincts were directing them to protect her.
"Well let's hope the deities feel the same way." Titus said with a thin smile. That was the barrier they were still waiting to bust down.
"Lila... I know you aren't the type... but... how do you feel about all of this? You are getting dragged into this too." Dex looked back at his sister. He wanted to make sure she was okay and understood everything.
Lila smiled back at her brother. "I'm fine. Titus explained everything and I understand the situation well." Lila then giggled and looked at Lee and Rhea. "Besides, I think if our deity over there was able to control himself over his mate being touched then I should at least have as much restraint as him."
Rhea leaned into Lee and smiled. She was happy for Titus. She felt like she couldn't be completely happy until she knew he had someone too. Once her and Lee were clear then all that was left was getting rid of the demons.
She frowned slightly. It had been a little too quiet on that end. She hadn't heard anything from any of her family in those regards. Did Freya make it there okay? Has Abaddon attacked the Diamond Pack? What was her father and mother planning to do? She knew they had a plan up their sleeve as well. When didn't her mother have a plan? At least she felt like her mother and father were at least coming up with something. They were both thinkers. They have fought before an have experience. Her father almost killed Abaddon the last time they clashed against each other.
Rhea suddenly stiffened. Oh no... She felt her chest tighten and her chest squeeze at the sudden realization. Calm down Rhea... Calm down... you don't know anything. But she was almost certain of it now. s**t Rhea...
"Rhea what is wrong?" Lee rubbed her arms gently. He felt her body begin to shiver. "Rhea."
She shook her head as she tried to think. What was it exactly? She had to be sure... she needed to check. She felt immediately flustered and she raised her hand to her head trying to think.
Cody. Kelsie. Meet me at the back of the castle. Her voice was urgent as she reached out to them
On our way! The two voices echoed back into her mind.
"Rhea!" Lee finally growled and gripped onto her arm tighter.
She spun and looked at him. "I think I messed up." She took in a deep breath. "I need to check something." She took off running out of the old part of the castle.
"Rhea, Wait!" Lee called after her and grabbed onto her arm outside of the castle. "Stop! Talk to me." He watched a small tear slip down her cheek.
"Gosh Lee. I wasn't thinking. I wasn't paying attention. I'm screwing up." She was having a hard time breathing now. If only she had her wolf... she would have known. Damn it...
"Rhea. Calm down and look at me." Lee laid his hands on her shoulders and she quickly brushed them away.
"You can't Lee." He couldn't touch her out here. It was too risky. The others ran up to them.
"What is going on?" Titus asked noticing how distressed Rhea seemed.
"Rhea!" Cody yelled out as he ran down the hill with Kelsie at his side.
Kelsie... I need a ride. Quick! Rhea glanced at Lee before she turned away and ran up to Kelsie. The moment Kelsie turned into her horse Rhea hopped onto her. Go Kels.
