Dr. Luna
Chapter 48

Lilly leaned her head into Tyler. They were both feeling drained from the intense pain. She looked over at Tristan, who also was wearing fatigue on his face. "Well, if anyone is ready to spar, I think I'll have a go at you now." Cedric said with a flashing white smile. The cast of annoyed looks he got only made his smile widen even further. "Do I get any cool powers?" Tyler asked, as he finally stood to his feet, pulling Lilly up with him.

"You have to discover them on your own, but you have more power within you than you know." Tristan rose to his feet and stared at Tyler intently. The two of them hadn't realized yet just how powerful they were. They were only hitting the tip of the iceberg. Together, they were strong. They could draw from each other. Tristan was pondering an idea but was going to speculate about it some more. These two were chosen to be together for a reason. He had a feeling that one day, they were going to have a brutal fight on their hands, and they would be the key to winning it. Not only them... but their lineage.

"Well, the best way to keep testing things out is for us to have daily sparring sessions." Tyler grinned over at Tristan who returned a smile of his own. In truth, the two men enjoyed sparring against one another. It was a challenge for both of them and they could both benefit from it.

"This time don't leave me out." Lilly huffed and glared at the two men.

Tyler squeezed his arms around her and buried his head in the nape of her neck. He tenderly kissed her neck. "We wouldn't dream of leaving you out. As much as I hate the idea of you sparring, I want you to be prepared, just in case anything ever happens." This is how their days went over the last several weeks. They trained and honed their skills every day. Lilly had adapted to her new fire skill and she could even communicate with Suzaku. It was like another mind link. Tyler and Tristan were becoming rougher and more intense with their training and Lilly had been training with Tyler. It was weird training with him though. If he landed a blow to her he would immediately stop engaging in the fight and come over and start licking her, making sure she was alright. She was learning a lot and getting tougher. Already, she had improved so much since her fight with Jessica. Speaking of Jessica, they had not heard anything from her since she left. They hoped it would stay that way, but Lilly had the feeling that she was a skeleton in the closet that they would have to deal with again eventually.

Lilly finally was able to speak with her brother Aaron. She explained to him everything that had happened to her. Aaron had completely taken over as the Alpha and her father had been traveling off and on ever since. Aaron did not know about her mother being a fairy and Lilly had not been able to reach her dad yet. She had so many questions for him, but he was unattainable lately. Aaron said, even when he did come home, it was briefly just to make sure things were still going well in the pack. Aaron told her that Mattie had found his mate and he was completely smitten with her. This made Lilly happy since Mattie had found his happiness just like she did. The two planned to get together soon in the future by having a small dinner together and Lilly was excited about that. She missed Aaron and could not wait to see him again.

Tristan and Tyler were sparring but in their human forms. It was important to practice and train in every aspect. Lilly couldn't help but watch Tyler's body. His well chiseled chest and bulging defined arms, even how they glistened with sweat, he was mouth wateringly gorgeous. Her lustful thoughts drifted to thinking about his body in bed and how those same powerful arms hold her so tenderly and preciously. Her licentious thoughts finally hazed over as she noticed the two had stopped fighting. Tyler was staring at her; his eyes were dark as he looked over her like a little lamb.

You keep thinking like that and I am not going to be able to keep fighting. I can't concentrate with those thoughts popping up in my head... I'll gladly oblige your needs. Tyler was staring at her with a wry smile resting on his face.

Ugh, caught by the soul mate link again. This had become a reoccurring problem. Well it wasn't really a problem. She was incredibly turned on when she caught him lusting after her and then when they were being intimate... She stopped herself again from taking those thoughts any deeper.

A red crimson stained her cheeks and she looked away. Keep on sparring. I can control myself... okay maybe not.

"Cedric, why don't you come over and experiment a little." Lilly heard Tyler chuckle but then return his attention back to Tristan as Cedric sat next to her.

"Okay Cedric, just for curiosity's sake we need to see if you are able to use a mental barrier on me. You don't have to block all aspects, but see if you can do just enough that could block the soul mate thought link. If it is going to hurt too bad then don't do it." Lilly looked at Cedric who smiled at her gently.

"It shouldn't hurt me. The reason it hurt before was because I was blocking all of you. I was making your presence invisible. Let's see what I can do." Cedric sat in front of Lilly and stared into her emerald pools. He looked deep inside trying to find a link he could use to ground his magic in. As he was staring a glow was coming forward through her green orbs. A flaming bird was peering back at him. He quickly pulled back and let out a shallow breath.

"You better talk to Suzaku first. I think she is going to light me on fire if I continue." Cedric chuckled nervously. There was a murderous intent staring at him in the face and his heart froze for a moment before he backed out.

"Oh, okay." Lilly drifted into her consciousness. It was actually a very neat experience. She could meet with Kira in the depths of her mind and was also able to see Suzaku who visited periodically.

"Suzaku, I was going to have my friend put up a mild barrier to prevent my thoughts from entering my mates head. It would just be temporary just to see if we can. This way in the future I can still surprise him." Lilly spoke to the flaming bird in her mind. "It isn't a good idea. You two are linked for a reason. You need to be able to know the moment either of you are in danger so that you can go to the other. You are strongest when you are together. You were not just blessed as soul mates randomly. This was intentional." Suzaku's light flickered in and out as the flames danced around it.

"You are saying that us being soul mates was planned? Is it because I am the fairy Queen's daughter and the Alpha's daughter and mated to an Alpha? I don't understand."

"It is because of the destiny you hold. Something big is going to come about during your lifetime. Your mother knows of your future legacy. You will need to talk to her about it. I am not permitted to give away the future... He can do the barrier, but it shouldn't be done often. Only in very rare occasions." Suzaku then vanished and Lilly snapped back into reality.

She had gotten permission, but what Suzaku said was bothering her. What exactly was in store for them in the future. She did not like the sounds of it since the implications were big. Lilly was not stupid. Suzaku was saying they were linked for a reason and that the two of them were the strongest when they were together. Their destiny had something to do with them needing to use their powers together. She mentioned that her mother knew more about it... what did her mother know? She would have to plan to make the trip to Elysium soon. Not only did she want to see her mother, but she also wanted to know what knowledge her mother had. There was something ominous about the way Suzaku was speaking, almost like the fate of the world was depending on them. That was a lot of weight to bear.

Lilly felt Tyler's arms wrap around her from behind. She snapped her head away from her thoughts and looked up to him. She could see him looking at her with a small smile... the soul mate link again. He could feel her mild distress and from her own thoughts, already accessed as to why.

"What's wrong Lilly?" Tristan plopped down and shoved an apple in his mouth.

Lilly smiled and just shrugged. She really didn't know what was wrong, if anything. She just was suddenly putting the pieces together and she knew that something big was supposed to happen during her lifetime.

"You guys wouldn't happen to know what my mother knows about my destiny... would you? Suzaku said something big is going to happen during my lifetime. She said Tyler and I being soul mates was planned and that we are strongest when we are together." Lilly looked at the two men but was assessing Tristan's face. He seemed to be in deep thought about something again and he wasn't sharing.

"Tristan... what are you thinking?" Tyler asked the question that was on Lilly's mind for her. He squeezed Lilly's arm and pulled her deeper into his embrace. They had a destiny? That sounded pretty cool to him.

"Ah, it's nothing really. Just some random thoughts..." Tristan stopped and looked at the glares he was getting. "Ugh! Okay. I didn't say this before but why would a deity intervene? Logically speaking, for them to get involved, it is either a fight with other deity's, or it will be because of demons. There is a half demon that is after the princess. I don't think we ever really got into this before. This demon is half werewolf too, but his werewolf half is from a normal werewolf and doesn't have Alpha blood. I wonder if this destiny has something to do with a battle against the demon realm. Now it wouldn't be the whole realm, their dark priestess would never allow it. That doesn't mean that a band of demons do not go off on their own. But man... a battle against demons... I mean we would need to have one of the strongest alliances around for that. We would need more than just fairies and werewolves being united... which is where my next thought enters. This big thing that is going to happen... maybe it is not going to happen for a while. Until your stars align into place. Your future children may also have a role to play in this. I don't know. Maybe that is where the deity comes into play. To help aid in the area we are lacking. Or maybe it doesn't mean any of this... which is why I was keeping it to myself. It was just what I was thinking made sense." Tristan rubbed his head again. "Man, if it is demons, we have to fight, maybe we should up our training. Those things are nasty and dirty. They have so many nasty tricks up their sleeves."

The three stared at Tristan quietly as they mulled over their own thoughts. The idea that they may be smack dab in the middle of a very dangerous war was a bit numbing for a moment.

"So, what you are saying is that we are kind of a big deal?" Tyler said with a smirk on his face that caused them all to laugh. "Seriously though, I don't give a damn about what we will have to fight in the future. We will destroy anyone who stands against us. Anyone after Lilly or my family are signing their death certificate. We will train and be prepared to take out any threats no matter who or what they are."

"Now that's hot Tyler, no wonder Lilly keeps daydreaming about you." Tristan let a sly grin spread over his lips as he watched Lilly turn into almost a shade of purple. Tristan would protect them with his life. No matter what danger was ahead of them, Lilly and Tyler were his family. Over the last several weeks the two men had bonded. They were closer than friends, they were family and they trusted each other with their lives, which is a good thing because they would need to do that in the future.
