Chapter 49

Lilly put on a dark green sun dress and applied a light layer of make-up. It took a few days of coordinating, but they were finally having Aaron, Cadence, Mattie and his mate over for dinner since Tyler still wasn't letting her outside of the pack borders. Lilly bounded down the stairs and into the loving arms of Tyler. She was excited to be able to see her brother. This was the longest she had ever been away from him. Tyler swirled her around in his arms, causing her to giggle. He could feel her excitement and he was happy for her. He gently placed her back down onto the floor and Kade walked over to him with his arms up.

"Oh. I see... No twirly twirly for me." Kade smiled as Tyler gave him a playful shove away.

"Man, I'm hungry." Tristan bellowed, as he smelled the steaks sizzling.

"You are always hungry." Cedric rolled his eyes in annoyance and walked up to Lilly.

"Princess, you look stunning as always." Tyler gurgled a bit towards Cedric. "Now don't get jealous, you're lovely too." Cedric grinned triumphantly and took a seat at the table. Everyone had grown very close to one another. It really was like a family. They teased and joked with one another but everyone of them would risk their lives for the other in a moments notice.

Lilly looked over her wonderful family. Avery and Caleb were swooning over each other at the table, while Kade and Cedric were teasing Tristan about the food. Then there was the man who had his arms around her lovingly. She loved him more than she could ever say in words. Her emotions for him were so deep that she worried about how she could ever go on with out him. He was her air and without him she did not think she could live.

'You don't have to ever worry about that. I'm never leaving your side babe.' Tyler tilted her head up to his and kissed her warmly and passionately, pouring his love for her into the kiss. 'You don't have to put into words how you feel about me because I can feel it myself. I know. Just like you know, I feel the same way about you!

It was true. He loved her so possessively and so intensely that there was no way she could deny how he felt about her. Now, if only he would let her leave the pack borders every once in a while. She couldn't stay locked up forever. She needed to visit her mother

soon.

'Just a bit longer until we can track down this demon that is after you.'

'Hey! Get out of my thoughts.' Lilly elbowed him playfully as the sound of a vehicle pulled up. Lilly raised her eyes in excitement and then a moment later a knock was heard at the door.

Tyler chuckled at her child like excitement and walked up to the door and opened it. The moment he did Aaron stepped inside and instantly swooped up Lilly into his arms. He lifted her off the ground, hugging her tightly.

"I missed you so much Lills." Aaron held onto her tightly and gently lowered her back to her feet.

"I missed you too. It's been way too long." Lilly looked up at her big brother. Becoming Alpha had changed him, his aura was different and he seemed to have grown a bit bigger in the muscular aspect.

Aaron turned his attention to Tyler and shook his hand. "Thanks for taking good care of my sister."

"No need for any thanks there. She is precious to me." Tyler's eyes shined as he looked at Lilly with adoration. A blind man could see how much he loved her.

"Where's my Lillibug at?" Mattie said as he walked into the house.

"Mattie!" Lilly squealed and was wrapped into his monstrous hug. "How have you been?! I miss you and game nights! I heard you found your mate?! Congratulations."

"You look so well. I can see you are being well taken care of." Mattie gave a nod over to Tyler before returning his attention back onto Lilly. "Yes, our mates should be here soon. They were driving separately because they were out shopping together. Wow, Lilly, you can't imagine how much we have missed you." Mattie gave her one last squeeze that felt a bit too intimate for Lilly.

Lilly took a small step back and was immediately wrapped in Tyler's arms. His face was smiling normal but, in his head, he was threatening to kill Mattie if he kept looking at his princess like a piece of meat. Lilly was appreciating his restraint since it was solely for her benefit. Still, something felt off about Mattie. He seemed... sad. The more she looked at him there seemed to be an odd aura about him. Maybe she was just imagining things.

"Um, let me introduce you." Lilly said as she turned to point out the rest of the room. You already know Kade, and thats Tristan over there, I know you met him before too but he has changed a lot! That is Avery and Caleb and this guy over here is Cedric. He was the best friend that I forgot I had." Lilly's smile faded as she redirected her gaze over to Tristan. He was hiding something... she took in a soft sniff through her nose. He was eating pie! One of the pies she had baked for dessert. "Tristan!" Lilly growled and took off after him.

Tristan sprinted around the table and the chase was on. She chased him around the kitchen bar and back around the table.

"Nice try pup but I'm too fast for you." Tristan beamed back at her with his pearly white teeth.

Pffft. Lilly flicked her finger in his direction sending a burning cinder to his arm.

"Ouch, LILLY!" Tristan growled and turned and narrowed his eyes at her. "That's cheating!" He then turned and charged back at her.

Lilly let out a little yelp and spun around. She sprinted into Tyler, whose arms wrapped around her protectively.

"Oh? You think your pup can protect you?" Tristan said as he took a dangerous step forward.

"Reach for her and find out." Tyler grinned as he stared at Tristan. Lilly giggled in the safety of his arms. She felt Tyler pulling her body behind him as he braced to square off with Tristan.

'Boys... Lilly rolled her eyes inwardly... always looking for an opportunity to wrestle.' She was suddenly plucked out of Tyler's side and had someone else's arm around her.

"You two can go ahead and fight... I'll take the girl." Kade winked as he had two sets of deadly glares land on him.

Kade grinned widely and pulled Lilly closer into his chest to tease his Alpha. "Some protectors you have there Lills, I managed to pluck you right out from your mates' side. And that guardian of yours... I hope you can return it for a new one." Tristan and Tyler were standing side by side banding together to fight a common evil.

"You guys are a rowdy bunch." Aaron chuckled. Watching the scene in front of him warmed his heart. He could see that Lilly was really happy here. More than that... she belonged. Which was more then she ever had in her home pack.

Lilly looked over at Mattie again. Something was bothering her about him. She was having this weird pull... like she needed to help him. She didn't understand it, but something about him was making her feel apprehensive.

Just then another set of knocks was heard at the door. "I'll get it, that's probably the girls." Mattie said as he opened the door. In walked Cadence in her designer jean and top, her face painted up and she entered with her sickening fake smile. But she wasn't the one that had everyone's attention. It was the girl behind her who walked in.

"This is my mate, Jessica." Mattie announced as he swung his arm around the girl.

Everyone froze. Well this is a weird turn of events. Do we throw her into a Coliseum and fight to the death? Or should we give her a chance to see if she is different because she has actually found her own mate now.

I told her she wasn't welcomed back here. This is dirty. She should have told them she was banished. Tyler's voice snarled in Lilly's head.

Lilly mind linked with her pack in the room. "Okay everyone. Let's just take this one easy step at a time. Let's try to salvage the evening... It's the first time I have seen my brother for awhile so let's try to ignore the evil b***h for now."

Lilly set her eyes onto Jessica who was looking directly at her. "Actually, we have met her before. It is a long story, but we all know who Jessica is, including Kira." A couple snickers were let out by Tristan and Avery. "Anyways, dinner is ready, and Tristan here can't hold on any longer." Lilly walked over and smacked Tristan in the gut.

The group all took their seats at the long rectangular table. Mattie, Jessica, Aaron, Cadence, Avery and Caleb all sat on one side. Across from them was Tyler, Lilly, Tristan, Cedric and Kade.

"How has daddy been?" Lilly asked as she cut up her meat on her plate.

"He seems preoccupied. I've been meaning to talk to him, but he keeps leaving. I am not sure what he is up to." Aaron said with a small frown.

"He is probably demon hunting." Tristan said causally as he continued ripping into his food.

"Wait... what?" Aaron asked as he stared at Tristan.

"Well it makes sense. He knows that a blood thirsty demon is after his baby girl... now that he knows she is safe here he can go out and hunt this demon out." Tristan was staring at his food not bothering to look up.

"Lilly, you never told me it was a demon!" Aaron looked at her angrily from across the table.

"Heh, oops." Lilly gave him a small smile as she hunkered her shoulders down a little.

"Don't worry Aaron. She is well protected here." Tyler rubbed Lilly's back tenderly as he turned his head to look at her.

"Wait... Is that... Lilly did you mark him?!" Aaron pointed at the mark on Tyler's neck as he turned his head. It gave off the perfect view of his neck.

Lilly heard Jessica practically choke on her food and inwardly she was smiling at this. She met her eyes with Aaron and smiled. "I'm possessive like that." Lilly grinned as she looked up at Tyler. He was grinning ear to ear and leaned in and kissed her forehead tenderly.

"She really is the best mate anyone could have asked for." Tyler said proudly as he looked at her in adoration.

"Well I think that is pretty masculine for a female to mark her mate." Jessica's voice hissed out and a small smirk played upon Cadence's face.

"Really? I think it's hot as hell." Kade winked over at Lilly and his lucky bastard of an Alpha.

"Sounds pretty sizzling to me too." Tristan said with a shrug.

"I'm not going to lie... It was incredibly hot." Tyler said with a crooked smile on his face as his memories flashed back to that night.

She elbowed him lightly. "Stop thinking about it. You are going to make me blush."

"You're already blushing." Tyler teased her lovingly.

Lilly looked up and shrugged to Aaron. "You know Kira has always been very Alpha wolf like... Hey wait a minute..." Lilly looked over at Jessica and then back over to Mattie. "I thought you two were mates. Why isn't she marked?"
