Chapter 1772

After work, Emily hailed a cab to the Royal Mansion. As she entered the familiar compound, a flood of memories came rushing back.

Back then, she lived here. Estelle and Jonathan were upstairs, and Charlie would often drop by. They would chat, share drinks, and play cards together.

During her tough days abroad, she would think back to those times - they warmed her heart and gave her the strength to carry on.

She never regretted meeting Charlie. On the contrary, she cherished the memories they made here.

She reached the thirtieth floor and stood at the door, the memories seeming even more vivid. It felt as if the moment she opened the door, she would see them all lounging on the patio couch, bantering and laughing.

Yet, several years had already passed.

Emily tried the old door code. With a soft beep, the door opened. To her surprise, the code was still the same as it was three years ago.

She stepped inside and stood in the entrance for a while.

Everything inside was arranged exactly as she had left it. Even her favorite tablecloth, faded but spotless, was still there.

The evening sun filtered in through the large windows, casting a soft glow around the room and transporting her back in time.

She walked further into the apartment, a wave of indescribable emotions rolling within her.

Charlie hadn't arrived yet, so Emily sat in the living room for a while. Looking at the guest room she once lived in, she got up and walked over.

As she opened the door, a dozen Lego castles came into view, leaving Emily speechless.

The castles of various sizes were placed on her bed, desk, and the largest one took its place on the carpet.

Under the twilight, the beautiful castles appeared incredibly vivid and magnificent.

Tears welled up in Emily's eyes as she noticed the prince and princess standing side by side on one of the castles. It reminded her of the day Kya held a wedding for them.

On the day she sold the old house, her father had come looking for her, tricking Charlie out of ten thousand dollars. In her anger, she had dropped the items in her hands, breaking her castle into pieces. It was Charlie who had painstakingly rebuilt it for her.

And all these in front of her, was it him who had built them too?

It must be. He was the only one who knew her secret.

Emily covered her mouth, overwhelmed with emotion.

Suddenly, a man came up from behind and embraced her waist, pulling her close. "Do you like it?"

Emily stiffened. "When did you build these?"

"During the two years you were away, whenever I missed you, I would come over and build the castle." Charlie leaned in, whispering in her ear. "Whatever you like, I will bring it to you."

His hot breath brushed against Emily's ear, making her shiver. Her heart pounded in her chest and all she could manage was a whisper. "Thank you."

"No, I should thank you for giving me such a wonderful daughter." Charlie lowered his head and kissed her cheek. "Emily, let's be together."

Caught in the intensity of his presence, Emily couldn't think straight and felt somewhat panicked.

"Let me think about it."

"Sure, take your time. But you only have two choices. First, be with me and have a husband and a child. Or second, push me away and continue to be pursued by me until you agree." Emily bit her lip, turned around in his arms, and looked up at him. "First, give me Kya back. Then I'll consider it"

"Emily, Kya is our daughter." Charlie's gaze locked onto hers. "She's ours, together."

He reached up to stroke her clean brow, his eyes darkening. He slightly tilted his head, kissed the corner of her mouth, and his voice dropped to a husky whisper. "You once told me that you love Kya's father a lot. How about now? Do you still love him?"
