The other end sounded busy, "Is Gabriel a friend of Mr. Barlow?"

"Not exactly a friend, just know him. I'll ask around!"

"Oh." There was a brief pause, and the tone relaxed a bit, "Mr. Barlow, no worries, Gabriel is fine."

"Wasn't he involved in an attempted murder?"

"We've already checked the surveillance. It was those guys who started it, harassing Gabriel's girlfriend. Gabriel was acting in self-defense. Even though the surveillance didn't catch the moment one of the guys got stabbed, and the knife didn't have Gabriel's fingerprints on it, so Gabriel has been cleared of any suspicion."

Baron chuckled dryly, "That was quick, getting the test results?"

His own people hadn't even come into play yet!

"Yep, efficiency is key in solving cases these days!" Ken was careful with his words.

Baron forced a smile, "Much appreciated."

"You're welcome!"

After hanging up, Baron's face turned a shade of green with frustration, and he kicked a chair across the room!

What a mess, all his efforts to set up Gabriel, and it led to nothing.

His phone rang; it was Audrey.

Audrey got straight to the point, "How's Gabriel doing? He didn't agree to my request!"

Baron replied irritably, "He's fine, already went back to Sylvia."

Audrey's eyes widened in disbelief, "What happened?"

"I'd damn well like to know what happened!" Baron cursed.

Audrey sounded disappointed and worried, "The people you arranged, they won't rat you out during the interrogation, will they?"

"No, they're professionals, know how to deal with it." Baron wasn't worried about that.

"This method didn't work; we need to think of something else," Audrey said calmly.

Baron scoffed, "As long as we're united, we'll achieve our goal."

Audrey responded, "Alright, just tell me what to do, and I'm in."

Baron's gaze darkened, "Find a way to get Sylvia out."

Audrey, having been involved with Baron before, knew his cunning ways. With that suggestion, she immediately grasped Baron's intention, "No problem, leave it to me."

As the afternoon was winding down, Sylvia received a call from the Vice President of Kinson Group, "Ms. Jarvis, we'd like to continue with the product launch plan you did for us last time, but with some tweaks. Are you free to discuss this in person tonight?"

Sylvia smiled warmly, "That project was actually handled by Amy. I'll have her get in touch with you, Mr. Blake."

Blake's voice cooled a bit, "What, so a big VP like me only gets to talk to a junior staff member?"

Sylvia paused briefly, then chuckled softly, "Of course not. It's just that Lydia knows the project details better."

"Let's discuss budget and fees tonight. She can't make those calls; we need you, Mr. Jarvis, to sign off on it. Let's meet at the Blue Oasis tonight. I've already booked a private room and will send you the details!"

After stating this, Blake quickly added, "Got another call, gotta go. See you tonight, don't stand me up!"

Sylvia looked at her phone after the call ended, raising an eyebrow.

"Something up tonight?" Gabriel looked up from his work.

Sylvia turned towards him, propping her cheek in her hand, her demeanor soft but her eyes cold, "The VP from Kinson Group wants to meet tonight. It's not really a big deal, but it suddenly dawned on me that the chairman of Kinson Group is a Bright!"

Gabriel's eyes narrowed slightly.

Sylvia tapped her cheek, pretending to sigh, "Ms. Bright is quite impatient, isn't she?"

Failing in the morning and immediately making moves in the afternoon.

Gabriel could clearly catch the implication in her words, glancing at her lightly, "Seems like you're enjoying this."

Sylvia arched an eyebrow, turned back to grab a pen for signing, the black pen twirling gracefully between her slender fingers before being firmly grasped, her elegant signature flowing smoothly onto the paper
