Ben’s POV

I watched Lily take each step with so much grace and elegance. She was absolutely gorgeous. Hands down the prettiest women here.

I felt Louise’s eyes glued on me. But I didn’t care. I was so caught up in my first love, my only love, make quite the entrance.

I turned my attention to Myles when he made his way towards Lily. I couldn’t help the jealousy and hatred I felt towards him. She was supposed to be mine. Things were supposed to go back like they used to be.

She wore an all black dress, tight on the chest and very sexy slit up to the thigh. Something I would never have expected her to wear. I could feel my dress pants tighten around my c**k that was starting to erect just from looking at her.

Her face lit up when Myles met her at the bottom of steps. She placed her arm in his never taking her eyes off of him.

She adored him that much was clear. She used to look at me me same way. I thought maybe she would scan the room knowing that I was here. But she never did. She was to consumed in Myles.

I saw Myles bend down and whispered something in her ear, she blushed instantly. I couldn’t help but wonder what he said.

I knew I was drastically staring and I didn’t care. I hadn’t even noticed that everyone around me had moved on to something else. Louise was the only one left next to me.

I watched them move away from the crowd some and she turned her back towards me. I saw Myles eyes flash from black to brown. We locked eyes for a moment before he grabbed her hand and took off towards the kitchen

I got instantly pissed. I shook my head and looked at Louise.

She had her hand on h*p. “Are you going to stand here and tell me that your not jealous and that theres absolutely nothing going on between you too?”

“I wasn’t expecting her to look like that.”

“Like what? Expect her to be the clearly beautiful women that she is and probably has always been. Why are acting like your just now noticing this. Like you’ve never seen her look like that.”

“Because I haven’t. Last two times I’ve seen her I barely recognized her. She didn’t used to be so beautiful and confident. She used to be so modest and pure.”

“I don’t think modest and pure exactly describe her. She just ran off with her boyfriend. You can’t honestly tell me there not doing something freaky.”

I growled slightly.

“Don’t act all pissy because Myles touched where you never will.” She basically hissed at me.

“You used me Ben and you lied. By your reaction toward her you never loved me and you never will.” She stormed off.

“s**t” Part of me wanted to go after her by the other part of me was glued to this spot wanting to wait for Lily to return.

Ten mintues went by and there still was no sign of them returning. I saw Louise at the corner table. I pulled out a chair and sat next to her.

“Listen I’m sorry okay, I know it was really shitty of me to act that way. It’s just hard for me to see my first love with someone that i once considered a close friend. He’s my f*****g gamma for crying out loud. It’s just hard.”

She raised an eyebrow expecting me to say more.

I sighed. “She didn’t even look for me. She knew I returned today and she didn’t even bother to acknowledge that. Just ran off with my gamma. I thought she would of least talked to me.”

Louise snorted. “Can you honestly blame her? Why would she go looking for the man that didn’t have the balls enough, wait no, that cared enough to break up with her the right way. Honestly I’m impressed she even came tonight. I wouldn’t of even given you the time of day with my presence. “

I was shocked. I never thought Louise would of said something like that to me. She was stronger than I thought.

She looked into my eyes. “Ben, you saw Lily and Myles just as much as I did just now. They really do love eachother. You need to let this go. Whatever feelings you had or have she clearly doesn’t anymore.

My wolf growled at her.

She pointed her finger at me and shoved it into my chest. “Don’t you dare growl at me after everything you have put me through.”

“Your right, just come dance with me. Just one slow song. I really am sorry.”

She gave me a small smile. “Okay”

I reached out my hand for her and she took it hesitantly and I lead us to the dance floor.

We started to dance towards an end of a song and we still swayed till the next came on.

Louise tensed up in my arms and I couldnt figure out why tillI started listening to the lyrics. It was When I was your man by Bruno Mars.

f**k, the girl is never going to forgive me. We danced in silence.

“When our friends talk about you, all it does is tear me down . Cause my heart breaks when I hear your name . It all sounds like ooh, ooh, hoo, mm. too young, too dumb to realize.”

Louise cleared her throat. “This would be the song you ask me go dance too. Especially when your still clearly in love with someone else and probably always will be.”

She backed away, when I saw Lily and Ben come back through the kitchen to the ballroom. I grabbed onto Louise pulling her close.

Lily was hanging on Myles arm and giggling. Both of there hair and clothes seemed out of place slightly.

She was close enough to me that she finally noticed me . Well she noticed Louise first.

She had a look of confusion on her face that turned to understanding like she finally put the pieces together.

I felt my insides turn. She must really think the worst of me and by the looks of it she thinks I stopped things with her for Louise. But what killed me the most is she didn’t look jealous but relieved.

Her sweet cinnamon vanilla scent invading my nostrils. It was stronger than before. I hadn’t realized how much I missed that sweet, sweet smell.

She finally locked eyes with me and my wolf was screaming “mate, mate, mate!”

I couldn’t help but feel excited. Finally I could get my girl back after all this time. Everything I had hoped for was finally here.

I could tell by her eyes she was feeling something. Maybe mom was right , maybe she is only with Myles because she’s been lonely from her mom being gone.

But the feeling left her eyes as quickly has it came and turned to straight anger. She turned her attention back to Myles and I could tell he was upset and they started to argue.

I’m not going to lie I was glad I caused some sore of rift between them.

Louise saw me gloating. “Your an pathetic excuse of a man.” She turned on her heels and left.

I looked back at Lily and i saw Myles had taken off outside. She was just standing with Amber with her back towards me.

I took this as my opportunity to final speak to her. I got close to her and I could smell her scent even better but it was different it was mixed with something. It was mixed with Myles and the anger and hurt of my fated mate being with another man crumbled me.

Louise was right. They snuck off to hook up. I couldnt help but wonder how long she’s been sleeping with him. That should of been me, I should of been her first.

Eighteen old me couldn’t get enough of her. I always imagined it would of been me and her sneaking off at these events.

I heard her say “f**k” and it utterly shocked me. She never used to use such foul words.

She turned her body towards me and I was blown away. This was the first time I’ve seen her upclose in years and boy I wasn’t disappointed.

She softly spoke my name and that was it for me. I wanted her and I wanted her now.

She asked to talk and I couldn’t help but get excited. I think she was wanting to accept me in any way she could. I was beyond ready to tell her we were fated mates like we always wanted to be.

I suggested we go for walk. I desperately wanted to be alone with her.

As we walked out we passed my mother and father and they both were gloating. My mother had the biggest grin on her face like her plan was finally going the way she wanted. I winked at her. I was greatful she was right about Lily all along.

It kind of felt like my dad was coming around to the idea of an omega for luna after all. Maybe I could have Lily by my side.

When we reached outside I placed my hand on her lower back. Sparks invading me. It was the most sensational feeling I’ve ever felt.

She flinched when I touched her. Maybe she feels it alittle to. Her birthday is coming up soon. Some mates have some noticeable signs of who there mates could be.

For the first time in two years things are really starting to look up for me. I Just had to figure how Louise fit into all of this. She did reject her mate for me and she would be the more ideal luna.

I’m sure Lily would be fine with it. She always did comply with whatever I wanted. She never did do well with crowds and being the center of attention. I don’t think she would be able to do the luna duties properly or to my liking.

Maybe it’s best I just keep Louise as my Luna. I don’t think Lily would care either way as long as I came home to her at night. I could build her a cottage for her and our pups to raise on the outer part of the pack.

I just would need one pup with Louise to have an heir. Yes this really all could work out. I just have to start out by telling her we’re fated mates and tell her my plan. She will be so thrilled to have an alpha in her bed and her fated mate.

I juat had to figure out how to get her to accept me marking Louise for the sake of the pack.

I snap out of the daze I was in and we sat down on a bench by a large tree.

We were quiet for a minute and as Lily started to talk I blurted out that we were fated mates.

She showed no emotion. Not how I expected this to go down. I half expected her to jump into my arms.

Her demeanor changed to cold and distant. Even her tone got harsh.

I never expected her to say that she didn’t love me anymore not now, not when we just found out we’re fated mates.

When she mentioned she knew about Brooke my wolf was out for b***d. He warned me that cheating on her would bite me in my a*s and he was f*****g right.

I wanted Brookes neck in my hands, I can’t believe Brooke told her. We had an arrangement and she was fine with it. Least she said she was.

Only reason I let her get away with tormenting Lily was I was under the impression that she would keep her mouth shut if she could work out her jealously by making Lily miserable.

I just didn’t expect it to get that bad. Especially when I found out Amber did multiple things to get back at her. I honestly thought she would of stopped.

Before I could wrap my head around what she was saying, she flat out rejected me. What startled me the most is she didn’t use her last name she used the royals.

That f*****g b***h, she knew she was a royal and let me think she was just a weak omega that needed protected and taken care of.

She said she didn’t know she was a royal but how could she not.

My wolf completely pushed forward, just as pissed as I was. She backed away from me looking scared, good she should be.

What took me over the edge is when she completely disrespected me and my wolf. She stated that she wasnt that pathetic and desperate to be with me but yet she’s with my gamma.

I didn’t want to think of what everyone would think a f*****g royal rejecting an alpha for his very own gamma. I would be considered a joke.

Straight bull s**t. Images of her and Myles making love at my f*****g party took over my mind and I slapped Lily hard, so hard she fell to the ground making a large thump.

I was ashamed of myself. Her wolf took over demanding me to accept her rejection. Even if her wolf hadn’t taken over , the moment I hit her I knew we were done. I was already planning on it.

I never pictured myself hitting the only women I’ve ever loved. Be here I was hitting her like she meant nothing to me.

I heard a large growl and I knew it was Myles. It was time for me to bolt before he gave me everything I deserved.

I barged inside and headed straight to the bar with my mom on my tail. I need a stiff drink before I could deal with her a*s.

“Hunny, where’s Lily? You guys work everything out. I told you that you were fated mates. See you just need to trust your mama more.”

I sighed gulping down my drink and flagging down the bartender for another.

“So where is she? I take it congratulations are in order. Oh we will have to have another big party and let all the packs know.”

I took a deep breath. “Did you know?”

“Did I know what sweetheart?”

“Did you know she came from a royal bloodline. Is that why you were pushing her on me and why dad changed his mind all of sudden of her being a suitable mate?”

She nodded. “But isn’t that great news hunny? You will be the future king.”

“How long, how long have you known?”

She hesitated at first and I pushed some of my aura off on her. She complied. “I’ve known since before her and Raya moved here.”

“Did dad know?”

“No, him and Lily just found out.”

s**t, Lily was telling the truth.

” So when can I start planning the ceremony then? There’s so much work and I’m sure the royals will come or possibly want us to come there.”

“Mom why did she just find out?”

“Her and her mom have been hiding from the rogue king that’s after Lily and there holding her dad captive in hope that Lily will expose herself to save him.”

I got angry. “What the hell would the rogue king want with Lily?”

“Apparently any female born with the royal bloodline is blessed with a white wolf and on her nineteenth birthday she gains some sort of power and that power can be transferred to her mate, making them the ultimate werewolf couple.”

I snorted. “So that’s why you were pushing Lily on me and here I thought you just wanted me to have the chance to be with my fated mate.”

I downed another drink. “I never thought you would be so power hungry. You and dad are perfect for eachother.”

Her eyesbrows scrunched. “Ben are you going to answer my question about the ceremony?”

Before I could answer Myles was carrying Lily bridal style making quite the scene.

Amber rushed over to them and her eyes bolted to me. “f**k, this isn’t going to be good.”

My mom looked confused. “What isnt?”

Her eyes averted to Lily and Myles. But what startled her the most was Amber charging towards me and bitching me out.

Brody scooped her up over his shoulder and followed the direction Lily and Myles were headed. But it didn’t stop her from calling me a coward in front of the whole pack.

My moms eyes bolted back to me. “What the hell was that about?”

I bluntly spoke. “Me and Lily rejected eachother and my wolf took over and smacked her. He was pissed she was hiding being a royal from us and when we pictured her being with my gamma over me, we snapped.”

She pulled both hands over her face. “What the hell have you done? I don’t know how to fix this “

“You could of told me she was a royal you know, I would of kept it a secret, if I known it was keeping her safe.”

“At the time I hadn’t even thought of that and I didn’t know she had a blessed wolf till her mother told me about her turning. She got her wolf after you had already left.”

“You’ve created quite the mess, I need you out of my face now.”

“Ben, you can’t talk to me like that I’m your mother.”

I roared. “GET THE f**k AWAY FROM ME NOW.”

She turned on her heels completely embarrassed.

I turned my attention back to my drink when Louise came and stood next to me.

She looked amused. “Well alpha Ben I think you got everything you deserved. I’m leaving tomorrow. I’ve had enough. You, your mother, your both insane. I deserve so much more. I should of accepted my fated mate. I somehow thought you would be the better choice.”

“I understand, just go.”
