First Love Of The Alpha -
Chapter 62
Amber’s POV
Me, Lily, and Myles headed back to their room while Ben and Alpha Rodger got changed. Landyn stayed up on the Alpha floor in case anyone went looking up there.
They seemed to be doing a lot better. I just hated this waiting game.
We knew Luna wasn’t outback. Which meant she was still somewhere in here.
I was waiting, not so patiently, i might add for Maureen and Louise to get back to help watch Lily while all the guys joined the fight.
I knew Luna Meghan was waiting till all the guys left Lily’s side to approach her.
At least she was in for a suprise with Maureen. I was overly excited to see what she could do.
Maureen teleported back up to Lily’s room, scaring the s**t out of all of us.
She had an evil grin, enjoying all of our reactions. “This is going to be so much fun. I never teleported in front of people at my coven.”
Lily was still holding her chest. Her voice was a few notches higher than usual. “Are you trying to put me in labor.”
I tried to hide my smile. Her voice was hilarious. But it really would have been bad if she ended up having the pups right now.
Myles shot up from where he was sitting. Conner just linked me that Luna Meghan grabbed Louise as they were walking through the ballroom.
He said they heard a noise, and they went to check it out to see if a rogue came in. They were confused by it because as far as Brody seen no one has gotten even close to the pack house. But he could have missed someone going in human form.
Maureen looked at Myles. “Should I head down?”
He shook his head. “No, I really think you should stay with Lily from here on out. You’re really the only one that could protect fully or teleport her a*s out of here.”
I volunteered way too eagerly. “I’ll be happy to go check it out.”
All three of them shook their heads at me. Myles finally rolled his eyes. “Oh my goddess, just go. Link me if she’s not alone or you can’t handle it. I don’t want to leave Lily’s side till Ben’s ready.”
I beamed. Holding my daggers up in a ninja pose.
Myles just looked irrated. “Go if you’re going to go or I will.”
“Fine, fine, I’m going. Stealing my fun.”
Myles rolled his eyes and yelled from behind me as I was walking away. “You’re enjoying this too much. It’s supposed to be scary.”
Truth is, I was scared. But more than anything, I was pissed at Luna, at Lexi, at anyone who was coming after my family. I was out for b***d, and I was going to get it one way or another.
I practically ran down to the balcony above the ballroom when I heard them. I could feel Conners anxiety all the way up here.
I looked down, deciding I could make the jump, and I leaped over the banisters edge, pulling my daggers out as I landed.
I looked Luna in the eye. I wanted her to know my intentions. I could smell the fear on her. I was actually kind of proud that I scared her. She wasn’t showing Conner this kind of reaction.
She looked lost for words when she finally opened her trap. “Amber, can you ever stay out of anything?”
I smiled. “What’s the fun in that?”
That’s when I smelled a rogue behind me. I turned around and tossed my knife at the rogue, standing about ten feet from me, trying to hide behind I pillar. I hit him in the thigh.
He m****d out. “f**k”
I went up to him holding my other knife out in front of me. I was ready to kill.
But what shocked me his he held his hands up in surrender. “My name is Andrew, that’s my mother. Yes, I’m a rogue, but I don’t agree with any of this. I came to find her.”
“I know of you. You have to understand that they are trying to mate you with my best friend and you’re a rogue. I can’t trust you.” I pulled my knife out of his thigh.
He screamed out. “I know. No pack ever can. I was born into the rogues it doesn’t mean I ever wanted to be one.”
“Okay, well, walk that way.” I lightly pointed the knife into his back. I wanted Luna Meghan to see him. Mostly, i just wanted to see her reaction.
Her face pailed as soon as she saw us. She didn’t even try to hide the fact that she knew him. Her protective instincts kicked in.
She loosened her grip on Louise. “Andrew, what are you doing in here. You shouldn’t be here.”
“I actually came to try to stop this. To stop you.”
She looked shocked. “What? This is what you wanted. To be a royal. Now that Ben can’t have it, your dad said this was what you wanted.”
Andrew was looking annoyed. “How? I’ve been mute on all of this. But the girl is pregnant. The baby deserves to have both of his or hers parents. “
Hmm, I liked the jab at his own mother comparing his own life. Maybe there’s some truth in what he is saying.
Luna started to dig the knife into Louise neck again and started to draw b***d. You could tell her anger was taking over, which is never good.
She was looking directly at Andrew. “And what about your brother?”
“Which one? The one that was justifiably slaughtered or the one you tried to have killed?”
Okay, I’m starting to believe this guy a little more.
I couldn’t help but mumble. “Well said.” I swear I saw a grin on his face.
Ben and Landyn came running down the stairs, and it caught my eye. “What my brother didn’t trust me to handle this?”
Landyn elbowed Ben’s side. “See, I told you she would have it covered.”
Luna Meghan mouth was parted. She looked shocked at her surroundings.
Ben smiled at her. “What mom you’re acting like you saw a ghost?”
She shook her head repeatedly. “You were shot with silver bullets. You shouldn’t even be up and walking, let alone alive, and the rest of you should be out there fighting the rogues. You dont think the pack hasn’t noticed that there isn’t any ranked member out there.”
Ben shrugged his shoulders back and forth.”We’re headed that way. But it’s not like the rouges aren’t holding back. You have aton more rogues waiting to come in.”
Her eyes darted open in shock. “How do you know all of this?”
“Does it really matter? We all know more than you think.”
We all let Ben and Luna Meghan talk. We all knew he needed this moment with her.
Luna moved to the side. I would have the perfect shot if needed to throw my dagger.
We all got a link from Brody. “About ten rogues heading inside.”
Landyn linked. “Any sign of the rogue king. As soon as you see him or the rest of the rogues coming sight, I think the palace warriors should come out.”
Brody linked back. “The king agrees. He’s asking about Lily.”
Ben replied before anyone else could. “She’s safe.”
“Good, I kept her out of this link.”
Luna Meghan was still shaking her head. “You guys have left me no choice.
She digged the knife into Louise neck more, and I didn’t think twice about It and tossed my dagger hitting her in the chest.
She instantly let go of Louise, and Louise took off running into Conner arms.
I watched Luna Meghan take a step back and fall slowly to the ground, holding her chest.
We all got a group link from Brody. “Palace warriors are coming out. A second round of rogues are coming and are headed straight for the packhouse. “
Before anyone could grasp what was happening, the rogues came barging in, heading straight down to us.
I linked Lily and Myles and got no response. Ben looked over at me, and I knew he had just tried to do the same thing. All he said was “Go,” and I took off running through the kitchen to go up the other set of stairs.
I felt this awful pain in my chest it was hard to run, hard to stand, and hard to breathe, but I kept pushing through.
I got to Lilys and Myles floor, and I hardly could stand.
When i reached their door, it was cracked open. I pushed it to find no one on the other side.
Lily’s POV
Myles was pacing. I figured that it meant he was linking, leaving me out intentionally.
Everyone seriously was worrying way too much about me.
I think they thought they were making things easier on me but not telling me, but honestly, it was just making me worry more, not knowing what was going on around me.
I hated waiting around, knowing I was the intended target. Things were all already not going as expected, with Ben and Luna grabbing Louise, but I’d like to think that we were prepared for this.
Myles pacing picked up more, and Maureen looked at me with a confused expression. “Somethings happening, right?”
I nodded. “I’m just not sure as to what.”
Myles stopped moving and looked at me. “It’s Brody he needs you.”
“What do you mean he needs me?”
“Him and Brooke are hurt pretty bad.”
“What the hell is he doing with Brooke?”
“Lily, it doesn’t matter. What do we do? Do we go out there knowing they want you?”
“We have to. If Brody is hurt badly, I can’t let him die when Amber left here alone to go handle Luna Meghan for me. I have to do this for her.”
Myles took a deep breath. “Okay, but you don’t leave me or Maureens’ side. I’m sure Amber is already feeling it. I wouldn’t be surprised if she beat us out there.”
We walked by balacony, passing Ben and them underneath us, and headed straight to the back door.
We ran into three rouges that got through. I could tell myles was prepared to shift when Maureen gave one swift motion of her hand, and each of them went flying into walls and boulders, killing them instantly.
When we made outside, I couldn’t believe the amount of wolves fighting, and from what I could see, it was mostly rogues that were down.
I looked around, seeing if any of our own needed to be healed, but to my surprise, I didn’t see any.
Myles clenched onto my hand, leading me and Maureen into the woods where he said him and Brooke were.
We came up on them, and I wasn’t expecting what was in front of me.
Brody POV
I stood back watching the fight happen before my eyes. It was hard not being in the middle of it, but I knew I was the eyes for everyone still inside.
Brooke sat next to me, completely antsy. I knew she wanted to get to Landyn. She never used to be much of a fighter, so I wasn’t sure what she would be capable of if it came down to it.
She wasn’t at warrior camp very long, and she never had the motivation to do anything that took a lot of time and dedication besides maybe her nails. I knew how much time Amber spent on hers for tonight, and Brooke’s were always done perfectly.
I saw ten rogues headed straight for the pack house, and I linked everyone, letting them know.
I purposely left Lily out, but only because Myles asked me to. He didn’t think she would handle it well if anyone got hurt on her account.
Shortly after those ten rogues got close, i saw a flood of them coming through the trees, and I knew it was time for us and the palace warriors to make ourselves known.
I linked everyone again, letting them know, and the werewolf king motioned for his warriors to head out.
I kept Brooke in place unless we were needed once again, remaining to be the eyes for everyone else.
That’s when I smelt it. The smell of rotten eggs way too close. I turned around, and a rogue was in human form with five others. But one didn’t smell like a Rogue. It was something else.
For being a tracker, I knew it was a mystical creature. I just wasn’t sure as to what. But if I had to guess, I would bet he was a warlock.
I took a stance in front of Brooke. Even after everything I knew, I needed to protect her for Landyns sake.
The one rogue standing in front finally spoke. He looked right past me and straight at Brooke. “Brooke, right? The one that was helping my fated mate?”
s**t this was the rogue king himself standing in front of me. He was older, some wrinkles clearly visible. He had long blondish hair that was starting to turn mostly grey. He had it up in a “man bun,” as Amber would call it.
Brooke took a large gulp. “Your fated mates with Luna Meghan?”
Brooke looked terrified. If I’m being honest, he didn’t look all that scary to me.
He looked Brooke up and down, making me really uncomfortable. His eyes kept lingering in areas longer than he should have.
He voice was raspy when he spoke again. “So Brooke, I thought you were sent away. I take it you’re either back to help us or you come to warn your pack.”
Brooke gulped again but said nothing.
He raised an eye at her. “I don’t do well with disrespect.”
I finally spoke, knowing Brooke was too scared to. “It’s kind of hard to respect a rogue.”
He tossed some sort of potion down, and Brooke had jumped out in front of me. She was frozen in place.
I shifted to my wolf, and so did the rogues. They all came directly at me as the rogue king went in another direction with the warlock. I clearly wasn’t a threat to him.
These first two rogues came directly at me. I had one by the neck snapping it almost instantly. The other one had my leg in his mouth when the third was approaching quickly, and i pierced my teeth in his jugular, biting down as hard as I could till the life fated out of him.
The third rogue came and bit my shoulder. Not hard. I was easily able to flip him over before more damage was done. I ripped a chunk of his neck out and let him bleed out.
I looked up to see the fourth rogue tearing into Brooke. whatever potion they tossed made it so she was paralyzed.
I ran straight towards the rogue, using my head to hit him hard to go flying into the tree.
Brooke was breathing, but barely. One of her legs was missing from the knee down, and the rogue gave her nasty bite on her stomach that was bleeding profusely.
I linked Myles letting him know that I needed Lily.
I looked down, not realizing how bad my actual Injurys were. I felt lightheaded and disoriented. Before I knew it, I passed out next to Brooke.
