Chapter 63

Landyns POV

I saw Amber take off as soon as the rogues came through, and I couldn’t help but worry that something happened to Maureen and Lily.

I didn’t feel like they were in any immediate danger. I would know, right? I am their guardian.

After slaughtering rogue after rogue, I looked over, remembering Amber hit Luna Meghan with her daggers, and she wasn’t there.

I panicked, looking around, and I see Andrew fighting with another rogue.

I linked Ben. “Are you seeing this?”

“Yeah, I’m seeing it. I’m also seeing Lexi helping my mom towards the hospital.” There was a door to the outside through there.

The rogues kept piling through the door, and I knew we were the intended target. They were helping Bens mom escape.

After about fifty dead rogues later, they seemed to stop coming in. My fear was that luna Meghan was long gone.

I look up to see Amber coming back down the stairs holding her chest.

There was no sign of Lily, Maureen, or Myles.

I looked up at her, scared and worried. She just shook her head. “They’re gone, and I think something is wrong with Brody.”

Amber trembled to the ground. I knew she had to be feeling Brodys injuries.

“Okay, we need to all stick together right now.”

I helped Amber up and lead her to the hospital.

I got a link from Myles. ” If you got the rogues inside handled, you need to come out. Brooke is in rough shape.”

I didn’t hear anything else after that. I couldn’t help my mind wander in what she could have possibly done. Did she fight in our honor or the rogue kings? I shook my feelings aside and scooped Amber up into my arms.

We walked through the hospital, and we heard m***s and g****s. I look down to see Kelsey. one of the nurses holding what looked like a shard of glass in her hand that she clearly pulled out of her side herself.

“Kelsey, what happened?” Conner helped her into a chair.

“That b***h Lexi and Luna Meghan. I found Doctor Mel unconscious behind the nurses station where Lexi was supposed to be. I got her up on a table when Doctor Mel came to she started saying Lexi hit her with a potted plant. She passed back out right after that and hasn’t woken again. Her wound isn’t healing like at all. Which is really odd.”

Louise held on her neck where Luna Meghan had the knife to her. “Why did she harm you, though?”

Kelsey bit her l*p like she was nervous about what she was about to say. She looked between Ben and I.

Ben reassured her. “It’s okay. I know my mother is behind this.”

Kelsey nodded. Still holding her side, that looked like it was barely healing as well. ” I saw Luna Meghan being held up by Lexi, and I thought Lexi was harming her. I walked out and yelled, pretty loudly I might add. I told her i knew what she did to Doctor Mel and that she wasn’t going to get away with it. Luna handed Lexi a piece of the broken pot and told her to take care of me. She stabbed me with it, and that’s when Doctor George walked in.”

I looked around, realizing Doctor George wasn’t around. The hospital was really quiet. It’s probably too quiet for what was going on outside.

I looked at Kelsey. “Where is Doctor George?”

Myles POV

As soon we got to Brody and Brooke, I instantly knew that Brooke wasn’t going to pull through.

I bent down to feel her hate rate, and it was barely there, and she wasn’t responsive.

I knew Lily wouldn’t be able to heal her, especially with a missing leg.

I shook my head at Lily and Maureen. I linked the Doctor Mel and got no response.

Lily bent down next to Brody, who was coming back to it. He must be starting to heal.

I took my block down, and I linked Landyn. “If you got the rogues inside handled, you need to come out. Brooke is in rough shape, and if you’re with Amber, she needs to come to. I’m sure she’s feeling his injuries.

He replied with a low voice. ” We’re coming. Luna Meghan got away with the help of Lexi through the hospital. We’re going to follow that way out just to see if we come across her.”

Lily’s placed her hand on Brodys leg, her eyes glowing, trying to heal him as quickly as she could.

Maureen bent down next to Lily, ripping Brodys

The bite on his shoulder wasn’t deep, but the gashes across his chest were.

Brody titled his head down, looking at his chest wounds. He choked out. “I didn’t even feel these.”

Lily used her other hand and held onto his. “Amber is going to flip if I don’t heal most of these before she gets here. She’s going to kick you’re a*s for scaring her. We both know you’re just as scared of her as i am.”

Brody grumbled and then started to laugh.”Don’t make me laugh it hurts. It hurts so bad.”

Lily looked at him seriously. “Was Brooke back here to kill me?”

Brody shook his head and cleared his throat. “She saved me. She didn’t have to, but she did. The rogue king threw down a potion to paralyze me, similar to what the knife was supposed to do to you. Brooke, she, umm, jumped in front of me before it could hit me. Even though it wouldn’t have done anything to me. But she didn’t know that.”

Lily looked at him, shocked.

It bugged me that Luna Meghan could have easily picked a potion instead of using knives laced with it. She wanted it to be as painful as possible for me and Lily. I’m just happy she never got the chance to give them to Brooke.

I tried to link Doctor Mel again and got nothing. I then tried Doctor George. “Brooke is out here with a missing leg and deep wounds in the abdomen, her breathing his slow. She was hit with a potion that paralyzed her. “

Doctor George was quiet for a moment. I was starting to wonder if he even got my link. “Myles, I’m with another patient out in the field. The potion won’t let her body heal. I’m afraid even if I got her back to the pack hospital, it would be too late. Is she awake and responding?”

“No, she hasn’t woken up.”

“Okay, then let her go peacefully.”

“This has to be a joke. You’re not going to come take a look at her.”

“No, I really, really can’t. I’m with another patient.”

I didn’t know what to say. I was letting my friends sister die, and there was nothing we could do. Even through all the wrong, she still tried to save Brody. That will mean something to Landyn.

Lily’s got Brody pretty much healed, and Maureen helped him get his back up against a tree.

I saw Amber coming running up and headed straight towards him. She looked over his body, checking for injuries and open wounds. There was hardly anything left besides a few bruises.

She playfully smacked his arm. “Don’t you dare scare me like that again.”

He gave her a smirk. “Wouldn’t dream of it, baby.”

Landyn came through the trees slowly dropping to his knees next to Brooke’s almost lifeless body. He looked up at me. “Moving her to the hospital won’t do anything, will it?”

I shook my head. “I couldn’t get ahold of Doctor Mel, and Doctor George said he’s out here somewhere with another patient.”

Landyn grew angry. “He’s out here with Luna Meghan. She had a knife pointed at him and threatened him to follow her out. I’m guessing to help her with the stab wound to her chest. She was having a hard time holding herself up.”

I felt so bad for him. Not that I thought there was much of a chance for Brooke. I’m honestly shocked she’s even breathing still.

Landyn squeezed Brooke’s hand. “It’s okay Brooke, you can go. I’ll tell mom and dad that you died a hero.”

Landyn looked over at Brody. He clearly read Brodys thoughts, and Brody put his head down in shame.

Landyn shook his head. “Don’t do that. I wouldn’t have told her either that we were immune to everything. I didn’t trust her. She signed her death sentence when she started helping Luna. Im just glad she died with a clear conscience and trying to help us in the end. She was never going to make it out of this alive. “

I looked around, realizing everyone was here besides Ben.

Lily looked at me, puzzled, and asked what I was already thinking.”Where’s Ben?”

Conner turned around. “I swear he followed me out of the hospital he was right here.

We tried linking him, but once again, he had a block up. I had no room to talk. I just done something similar minutes prior to this.

I didn’t even notice the rogue standing next to Louise till Conner spoke. “Who’s the rogue.”

Landyn cleared his throat. “Umm, that’s Andrew. Lunas son.”

I instantly panicked and put myself in front of Lily. “What the actual f**k Landyn? Does Ben know?”

Landyn came up and stood directly in front of me. “Relax, he doesn’t want Lily like that he never did. He tried to stop his mom and helped us fight against the rogues that came into the pack house.”

I wasn’t sure what to think of this. I knew I trusted Landyn he was a telepath for crying out loud. He had to listen to his thoughts.

Lily grabbed onto my hand from the ground. I helped her up and placed my hand on her very perfect, swollen stomach.

Andrew smiled at us. “I’m not like my parents. Your pup deserves to have you both. I was never going to come between that “

I looked at Landyn to confirm what he was saying. He just nodded.

I stuck my hand out to him. “Myles”

He shook my hand hesitantly. He looked scared and I was relieved to know that because he really should be. “Andrew and your Lily, I presume, right? Just by the swollen stomach and Myles’ protective stance.”

Lily nodded, yes. ” I’m so glad to know you’re not actually wanting me as your mate.”

I could tell she was nervous.

Alphas Rodger POV

I watched my mate walk out of the pack hospital. She was held up by Lexi and Doctor George it didn’t seem right to me. Doctor George looked terrified. He wasn’t the type of guy to show emotion, but even he couldn’t cover up the complete terror that was on his face.

They headed out towards where the rogues were.

I went against my better judgment and decided to follow.

They didn’t go far in when I saw Lexi lean Meghan against a fallen down tree.

She unbuttoned a few buttons from her blouse, making her wound visible.

Doctor George bent down to examine it. He looked confused. “It’s not healing. Do you have any idea as to why?”

She rolled her eyes and looked at Doctor George annoyed. “If I knew that, I wouldn’t have needed you in the first place. The only thing i know was that the daggers were made out of silver, but as soon as i took it out, it should have started to heal slowly, but it hasnt and it didnt hit anything major and it wasnt deep. I can’t even get the bleeding to slow down.”

The doctor looked confused. “The only other thing I can think of that would stop or slow down healing would be wolfsbane.”

She looked at Lexi irritated. “What did you do?”

Doctor George tried to calm the situation. “Luna, did someone try to poison you? Is that what all of this is about?”

Meghan never took her eyes of Lexi. I thought about interrupting now, but my curiosity was getting the best of me.

Lexi spoke barely above a whisper. “I put it in the punch like you asked at Lily’s party. “

Meghan closed her eyes. “Which one? I told you the lemonade only.”

Lexi looked irritated now. “No, you said punch. You didn’t say specifically which one.”

Meghan screamed. Like a whiney four year old.

Her screech was like nails to a chalkboard. I decided to make myself known and save the poor doctor for the raft of Meghan. I knew this wasn’t going to be pretty.

I walked through a clearing. “Really, Meghan wolfsbane in the punch? I thought you were more classy than that.”

Meghan was fuming. Her face tomato red, her eyebrows scrunched together. She instantly grabbed Lexi by the hair. “Can you not do anything right?”

She shoved Lexi to the ground. She tried to stand on her own and looked me right in the eye. “You’re supposed to be dead.”

“And you’re supposed to be a Luna to this pack. Did you really put wolfsbane in the punch to weaken us? All so your precious fated mate had the upper hand?”

Meghan rolled her eyes. “You just couldn’t possibly understand. “

“You’re right. I can’t. I may not be the best man, but I would never try to kill my own child.”

Her eyes shot up at me again in shock. “I didn’t have a choice.”

“Right, just like you didn’t have a choice but to hide our daughter Maddy? I know she’s not the rogue kings. “

She tried to hide the panic on her face. I was getting way too much enjoyment out of seeing her suffer.

“You found out about Maddy?”

“I’ve known about Maddy for some time.”

“How much do all of you know?”

Ben came out of the same clearing I did. “Does it really matter, mother?”

She looked between me and Ben. “So now what you’re going to kill me?”

Ben’s POV

I walked out of the pack hospital and saw my father headed towards the woods. I knew I needed to make a fast decision so I decided to follow him instead of my friends.

I wasn’t hoping he hadn’t changed sides. I’ve been really trying to trust him. Here, lately, our relationship was getting better, but I still had a guard up.

I followed the faint voices i heard when I came upon my mother, Lexi, Doctor George, and my dad looking pissed.

I knew he wanted to confront her, and honestly, he probably wanted to be the one to kill her.

I saw her holding her chest, and from what I understood, Lexi screwed up, and she drank some of wolfsbane that was in the punch.

Karma is such a b***h. I linked Landyn. “Most of the pack was exposed to wolfsbane. Anyone who was at Lily’s party is at a higher risk of not healing. It was in all the drinks.”

Landyn sighed. “Of course there was. Where are you? We tried to link you a few minutes ago.”

“I saw my dad headed towards the woods. I just wanted to make sure everything was okay. He was following my mom and Lexi. I’m on the opposite side of where you’re at.”

“Okay, we’re headed towards you.”

“Sounds good, I think my dad is about to kill my mother.”

I heard my mother ask my dad. “How much do all of you know?”

I came out making myself known. “Does it really matter, mother?”

She looked nervously between my dad and i. I think she her time was coming to an end. ” So now what you’re going to kill me?”

“Did you really think that either of you would walk away from all of this?”

I directed my eyes to Lexi, who looked like she was about to run at any given moment. I think she was in more shock than my mother.

She never answered my question. Rogues started to come in behind her. Still in human form, which I found odd. I told Doctor George to “run,” and he did not look back.

My mother gave an evil smile. I hate that look. The look of like she was about to get away something once again.

I looked over at Lexi, who looked like she was actually going to bolt this time.

I walked towards her when I was stopped by four rogues. I didn’t know what to think. They just stood between me and Lexi. Never shifting just staying in human form.

I decided to shift. They were starting to annoy me, and I wanted this to be over with. They started to look scared when they saw that my wolf was present.

Before I could even shift all four rogues, threw a vile of potion down. I heard the glass shatter and different colors of smoke surrounded me. I knew that meant they had to be different kinds.

The smell was awful. Burning my nostrils as it entered my body. I shocked them by stepping forward through all the colored smoke. My mother instantly took off running, well more like a waddle, with my dad on her tail. I could see her still holding onto her chest. I knew she couldn’t shift because of the silver and the wolfsbane she had consumed earlier.

Lexi was frozen in place. I approached her slowly. I wanted her to know her death was coming.

I shifted only my claws. Something I had learned at Alpha school and I picked her up by throat, digging them into her flesh.

I felt a tight pain in my abdomen. I looked down to see only the handle of a knife. I dropped Lexi to the ground.

I felt off. It had to be one of the knives that Mom wanted Brooke to use. How the hell did she get them?

I started to feel dizzy. I took another step forward to Lexi , and she stabbed me again with another knife.

I felt myself go weak and fell to my knees on the ground. I heard Lily behind me yell, “No!” Her yell had so much pain in agony.

I fell to my back and felt myself start to drift off to oblivion.
