First Love Of The Alpha -
Chapter 64
Rayas POV
Me, Remi, and a few of the palace warriors are waiting outside my old pack. I knew if we got caught, Remi could easily cover for us.
He had a perk of being the Alphas son and being Meghans brother. We’re just not sure what Meghan told her dad if anything.
This whole thing has just been a huge mess. I’m not even sure if my daughter will even talk to me when this is all over.
I pushed the feelings aside that have been eating at me for months.
Remi looked at his phone and said that it all began. I prayed to the moon goddess to keep my baby girl and pups safe, and we made our way into the pack grounds.
We head towards where Charles and the others were supposed to be kept. It just looked like a worn down cabin. It didn’t even look like it had running water. I don’t even think this would even be considered a hideout.
Remi looked around. “I literally only see three rogues gauridng this, and there just sitting there trying to stay hidden. I can tell the scent blocker is working. Meghan really must have thought we would never find them.”
“Okay, we should get in and out of here quickly then. We only have about twenty minutes before the guards make it back this way. They usually don’t go this far. But if they hear the fighting, they will.”
I felt Remi put his hand on my shoulder. “I know Ray, I know this pack juat as well as you do.”
I sighed. “I no, it just feels like another life that we both belonged here. Just doesn’t feel the same. I doubt it ever will.”
“Let’s go get Charles. Let’s bring him home finally.”
I felt tears start to strain from my eyes. I’ll forever blame myself for waiting so long. “Let’s go.”
We shifted quickly. Remi and the few warriors we brought took out the Rogues, and I headed straight towards the cabin or whatever the run-down shack should be called.
I shifted once i got to the door and opened it quickly. I didn’t even care that I was naked.
Three bodies were on the floor with their hands tied behind their backs. I didn’t regonize any of them. It broke me slightly when I didn’t see my Charles.
I remembered one of the names Lily gave me. There was only one male there. I bent down, so I was level with him. I could see the fear all over his face, and it broke me. “Are you Ace?”
He looked up at me, unsure of whether or not he should answer my question.
“I’m Raya, Esme sent me. Are you ready to go home?”
He seemed confused. “How do you know Esme?”
“She’s helping my daughter take down the rogue king. Your grandma said the only way she would help is if we save you. I keep my word, especially with my own child’s life on the line.”
He looked at a blonde that was sitting next to him and back at a little girl sitting back behind him. “Will you save my friends too?”
“Of course, sweetie, is that Maddy behind you?”
He nodded and pointed at the blonde with very curly hair. “This is Bre. She’s a witch.”
“Okay, I know you’re a warlock. Can any of you use your powers if you come against anything?”
“No, I was never very good. My grandma was supposed to teach me more, and Bre, she’s never been taught anything. She’s been with rogues since she was seven.”
“Okay, Ace, can you shift?”
He looked startled over the fact that I knew he was a half breed. I could see him questioning himself if he could trust me. “You know about that?”
“Yes, I know a lot. My husband is Prince Charles, the future king, and I am his fated mate. I’ve been looking for him. Do you know where he could be?”
I could tell by the look on his face he knew my Charles. “Charles is your mate? And to answer your question, ma’am, I’ve never shifted. I’ve been kept in silver cuffs to keep from shifting. Not that I would. I’m too scared. I didn’t grow up with wolves and a pack. I was raised in a coven most of my life.”
“Just call me Raya, and yes, Charles is my mate.”
He pointed in the direction of another door. “They put Charles in there ma’am, I mean Raya. He tried to escape. I’m afraid he’s in rough shape.”
I rushed to the door, practically tearing it down when I opened it.
He was tied to a chair in the closet unconscious. His face was almost unrecognizable with all the gashes and bruises.
I dropped to my knees in front of him. My heart broke all over again, seeing him like this. Knowing what he must have gone through to protect our baby. He doesn’t even know our grandbaby will be in danger, just the same.
“Charles, baby, it’s Raya. Can you hear me. I’m taking you home, baby. We’re going home.”
I brushed the hair out of his face and kissed his lips gently. I could taste the metallic taste of b***d that was on his mouth.
Charles eyes blinked a few times, too swollen to open completely. “Raya? Is that you, or am I dreaming again?”
I couldn’t fight the tears from falling. “Yes baby, it’s me.”
I cut the ropes that were holding him in place. Remi came in and helped me get him up. “He won’t be able to shift. “
Remi looked worried. “This makes it even harder. He doesn’t even look like he could hold on if he roads on one of our backs. Why isn’t he healing?”
I shrugged my shoulders. I didn’t know what I could say.
Bre cleared her throat. I was already a prisoner when he was captured. They gave him wolfsbane and kept him in silver cuffs. He’s never once shifted. I’m not sure if he has a wolf anymore.”
The tears kept pouring. I knew this wasn’t the time or place, and we were running out of time.
Remi looked at me sternly. “Looks like we’re walking to the palace.”
Prince Charles POV
I sat in a dark closet, going in and out of consciousness.
Once again, I was too weak to fight. I knew this would be my last chance to break free.
All this time, I had no idea Luna Meghan was involved.
She was Rayas’ best friend. She had to know where my girls were hiding.
She personally had us moved here a few days ago, and all she did was mock me the whole time.
I had a hard time understanding what was happening, and I still didn’t have all the answers.
She led me to believe that Raya was dead. I thought I would have felt the pain of her passing. But I was tormented every day. I could have easily felt it and did not know it.
My wolf was barely present, and I was pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to shift ever again.
I kept fighting for my little girl. Meghan said she was pregnant and at her pack.
She couldn’t help herself from bragging that she was going to take all her memories away and give her new ones with her rogue son.
I tried to go after her. But I fell a few feet from her, too weak to stand on my own.
I’m not sure how I gathered the strength, but I did. I knew something was happening tonight just by how the rogues were acting. They were more alert and not laying around being lazy like they were since Meghan left.
I made my move and didn’t even make it past the front door with the others before I had my a*s handed to me.
I was proud. I made it that far standing, and I got a few good punches in. I knew I wouldn’t stand a chance against one of their wolves. Maybe I should just be glad they didn’t kill me.
I hated the weak man I’ve become. But I would do it all again if it meant keeping Lily safe. I knew it must have been hard for Raya, but I was proud she kept her word to me.
I’m sure my parents gave her hell for it. I’m just glad she respected me enough to listen.
I swear I could actually hear her voice.
I forced myself to open my eyes even though they couldn’t open fully. She was blurry, but i knew it was Raya.
For a moment, i thought it was a dream. I imagined her so many times.
I felt myself be lifted out of the chair.
I was in and out of it after that.
I felt my body soften. I felt cushion and warmth around me. For the first time in years. I felt safe and secure, and before I knew it, i fell into a deep slumber.
