Forsaking the Years of Longing
Forsaking Billionaire 11

Chapter 11

Nolan belatedly pieced everything together.

All of Charlotte's unusual behavior over the past few weeks came rushing to the forefront of his mind.

Jaziel remained silent.

Perhaps Charlotte had been planning her departure for over a month already.

Was Sophie's presence really that significant in driving Charlotte away?

As soon as he thought of Sophie, her call came through.

"Nolan, Jaziel, I'm already at the restaurant waiting for you. We were supposed to celebrate together-where are you?"

Nolan held the phone tightly but didn't reply for a long time.

Finally, his hoarse voice broke the silence.

"Sophie, the dinner's off. We'll do it another time."

What was the point of celebrating when Charlotte wasn't there?

Jaziel stayed quiet, his gaze fixed on the shattered remains of his phone on the floor, his thoughts a mystery.

Suddenly, a familiar real estate agent approached, leading a man in a gray coat.

"Sir, take a look at this house...

The agent was enthusiastically highlighting the house's features to the prospective buyer.

Seeing Jaziel and Nolan, the agent paused in surprise.

"Mr. Jaziel, Mr. Nolan, what are you doing here? Didn't you sell this house already? Are you..."

The agent glanced nervously toward the house, wondering if the belongings had been

cleared out.

"The house is no longer for sale. I'm buying it back," Jaziel said without hesitation.

The agent blinked, stunned, momentarily unsure if he'd misheard. After a long pause, he cautiously asked,

"Mr. Jaziel, are you serious?"

"Of course I'm serious. Let's sign the contract," Jaziel replied firmly, his tone leaving no room for doubt.

The agent's face immediately lit up. "Alright, alright! Let's get the paperwork done. You can sign here."

Jaziel briefly reviewed the contract. Once satisfied, he decisively signed his name.

Nolan didn't argue. As long as they kept the house and prevented it from falling into someone else's hands, it was enough.

After all, their bond was strong-moving back in would only take a word.

This house held too many memories.

If Charlotte had moved with them to the lakeside villa, this place wouldn't have mattered.

As long as she was with them, that would've been enough.

But now that she was gone, they couldn't bear to lose even the memories tied to this house.

Late into the night, the two of them sat on the floor of the empty old house.

The space was hollow and barren-everything had been moved out.

What couldn't be taken had already been discarded.

Everything that had once belonged to Charlotte was gone.

An overwhelming loneliness settled over Jaziel and Nolan.

When Charlotte had been with them, there had always been endless things to say, countless ways to make her smile.

But now, with just the two of them, they felt utterly adrift.

Sitting in silence, staring at each other, they didn't even feel like talking.
