Her Forever
(Book 5)- Chapter 52

Trinity

“Good gracious, what was that?!” I shrieked as the ceiling above us began to vibrate. Enormous sounds of lightning striking the Earth, roaring, and even hearing the wind bellowing above us was hard to overlook. Something was going on above us, and we had no clue what it could be.

Stacy gripped my shoulder, clueless to the noise above us. “Did that really just happen?”

I nodded my head, “of course it just happened; it is still happening! Just listen, woman!” Stacy waved her hand and walked straight up the cement steps, putting her hand on the cemented closed doors.

“He admitted it; he really did! Your plan worked.” I shook my head, trying to keep the extra sound out of my ears. Did what work exactly? My mind was sprinting a mile a minute; there could be a war going on right above us, and not only that, the opposing enemy knows where our bunker is, thanks to Elijah.

“What plan?” I sighed exausted, rubbing both of my hands on my forehead. “What the hell are you talking about!?” Stacy’s eye began to twitch, her fists at her sides until the fragmented lightbulb rose over my head.

“Ohhhhh,” I drawled out. “Landon?” Stacy stomped her foot like a child.

“Yessssss! Landonnnnnn!” Her hands threw up in the air as she ran to me, holding me by the shoulders. Gently shaking me, she kissed both my cheeks. Pushing her away, I wiped away her k****s.

“What the hell are you doing?” Stacy shrugged her shoulders, a bit hurt that I would wipe away her affection.

“That’s what they do in the mafia, right? K**s each other on the cheek to seal the deal or a job well done?”

“The f**k is wrong with you, wench?!” I laughed hysterically.

“This isn’t the Godfather, you turd; I’m happy for you, though. I took no part in making deals; I could care less what my stepdad did.” Stacy’s face blushed, her hand covering her mouth.

“Oh,” she sighed. “Anyway, you got me, my man! I didn’t think it would work, just have Spencer as a bit of eye candy, but THIS?” Her hands waved all over her head. “I could never repay you for! How did you know it would work?”

“I didn’t?” I mocked dejectedly, looking around the bunker. The kitchen area was covered with women preparing food. Something about werewolves and food making everyone feel better. I swear I saw some chicken spaghetti casserole being put in a rudimentary oven and not to mention some cinnamon rolls.

“I saw it a couple times watching some Hallmark movies; make the male lead jealous with another man, then BOOM!” My fingers flared while I squatted down. “Makes them mad to have their woman touched, so there you go. You are welcome. Now, help me figure out what’s going on above us; all of our mates and best friend is up there fighting who knows what.”

Stacy walked with me, her arm lengthen through mine; she was definitely a person that needed to be touched constantly. She would make an excellent wolf for Landon. Then again, I never saw Landon with anyone; who knows what he will do when Stacy finally gets a hold of him. Her v-card needed to be swiped extra fast because she was a horny thing.

Linhi was sitting on a half-made cot, nursing her still unnamed baby. Her eyes were not as gold as they once were and were actually concentrating on keeping her baby boy fed and happy. “How do you feel,” I kneeled down to her cot.

“Fine, fine, sorry to have troubled you.” Lehi’s hand waved in front of both of us, and a brief wave of calm came over our bodies.

“That was better than one of those edible brownies,” Stacy whispered, sitting down in front of Lenhi.

“Aren’t all brownies edible?” I raised a brow only to have several wolves behind me start giggling. Lehi’s smile brightened, and her delicate hand was put on my shoulder. For a Luna, she was nothing but soft. If she had a wolf, I’m sure it was small, but that was her personality. Maybe the magic inside her was more robust than any wolf that Selene could give her. Not that there wasn’t anything wrong with having a strong wolf to be a Luna, just something I didn’t expect.

“Everything is fine up above; there is no attack. Big Paw just mind-linked me and will be opening the doors soon.”

“Why not now?” Stacy swayed, grabbing on the side of the cot.

“Because the wolves upstairs want the women to finish cooking so they can have a snack.” Linhi snorted, petting her baby’s head.

“Sexist bastards,” I whispered groaning. Lenhi brushed a lock of hair behind my ear.

“Why don’t you go visit your mother, Queen Sadie is with her and your father. She will need to go back to the medical ward once this is over.” Standing up, Lenhi pulled my hand back down to whisper in my ear, her eyes rapidly turning gold.

“You will be going on a journey soon with your mates. K**s your mother goodbye because when you return, you will not be the same.” Lehi’s eyes glowed as she spoke but shook her head suddenly, staring at me with a strange look. “What did I say?” she whispered, her hand gripping my hand tightly.

“That I was going on a journey with my mates and to k**s my mother goodbye because I won’t be the same when I come back?” I questioned.

Lenhi hummed, fingers playing with her lips. “Forget what I said.” Lenhi shook her head. “Just go tell your mother hello.” Her hand waved me away while Stacy still leaned against the cot. “She will be calm for a bit, she can’t be spouting out nonsense when Landon comes back, or it will freak him out. I’ll watch her until he comes for her.” Looking back one more time, I stood up and headed to the medical section of the sizeable four-corner room. Large drapes hid patients behind them, and everything was silent.

“Oh, she’s here!” I heard my mates’ mother call. “Come back here, please! Your mother has been asking for you since she has awakened!” Pulling the heavy drape back, I see my mother; her color was different. She was a bit ashy, and her lips were trying to return to her signature rosy red she always had. My real father sat in the chair next to her on the floor, his head near her stomach while one protective hand held onto her arm.

“My little warrior,” mom whispered. “I’m so happy you are alright! You made it!” Smiling brightly at her, I took my place on the other side of the bed. “I ran as fast as you told me,” I sniffed, finally sobbing.

“Mom, what happened? Please tell me what happened?” Mom’s hand brushed my father’s hair. The wire beard didn’t’ feel stiff but soft and braided to a perfect point.

“This is the elf warrior I would tell you about when you were just a little thing,” she whispered. Not to wake up her own prince charming. “I knew we were meant to be when I saw his green eyes met mine. He saw nothing but sadness when I buried my mother, but my soul knew he was the only one that could make me happy again.”

“We had a fling,” mom chuckled. “I couldn’t resist him; I had to have him….” Mom swooned, kissing his rough hand.

“Okay mom, romantic and all, but I don’t need to know the size of his manhood.” Mom laughed hard, causing her to cough and wake up my father. His eyes immediately went to her face, pulling her up to a sitting position. If I thought that Folen was the only one with supernatural qualities, I was mistaken. Besides the ears, my own mother had qualities just the same as Folen.

“Mom?” I whispered. “You both look similar, the hair, the freckles you both share,… are you?” Gods, please don’t be brother and sister or cousin or something; my poor heart can’t take it. Folen chuckled softly, looking into my mother’s eyes. The glow in both of their skins was obviously apparent even with mother a bit ill.

“Folen has taken his b***d and put it into me to rid me of the poison; the b***d has healing properties to heal him and now to take care of me. Once he marks me, I’ll become more like him in his species. Elven. Since I am his mate, Sadie says it is my body’s way of slowly accepting him, and it’s working.” Mom looked sincerely happy, and that was all that I could ask for. She would be elven, but what would that make me?

“You will be part wolf and elven,” Folen spoke, answering my question. “How it will work, we aren’t sure; there haven’t been many interspecies mixes. Not to mention getting pregnant before I had marked your mother. You are your own phenomenon right now.

I sighed. So much to take in.

“Anyway, I ran because your stepfather would have killed Folen, I knew Amato’s power, and I couldn’t bear for Folen to be tortured and killed, so I ran. Which was dumb. Don’t ever do that.” I bit my l*p, nodding exasperatedly. Well, good thing my mates figured me out quick.

“He tortured me, experimented on me. He’s known about supernaturals for a long time. He’s working for this fox.” The room grew silent; Sadie gripped the hot cup of coffee beside her, her ears intently listening.

“He isn’t just any fox; he has many tails! He’s white with bits of red. I wasn’t supposed to see him, but he was sitting in your stepfather’s chair in his office. I poked my head in to bring him tea, and this fox sat there, like a human. It could have had a human body and just a fox face with tails; it’s been too many years. I was abruptly pulled away and told to leave and not return until called. After that meeting, he said you were getting married, and that was when I made preparations for us to run.”

Everyone in the room’s mouth was open. It sounded too weird to be real, just as it was werewolves, bears, and so forth to be real. A fox with six tails was almost obscured! And why would a fox want me?!

A woman, the size of Sadie, walked through the curtain; her face looked to Sadie, who only nodded at her to sit in the chair next to her.

“A Kitsune,” the woman spoke. “Sorry, I’m Mia, second daughter of Sadie and Seth.” I went to stand up to bow, courtesy or something, but Mia only waved me down. “We are sisters; stop that shit.” I sat nicely in my chair, waiting for her to continue.

“I haven’t heard of them in a long time,” Mia whispered. “I thought they were extinct, but maybe they only reside on Earth. It would make sense,” Mia took her finger to her cheek, tapping her cheek. “Many humans are greedy, vanity driven. It would make sense for them to stay here.” We all looked at each other, waiting for more for her to say, but she remained silent, staring at the floor.

Sadie bumped Mia’s shoulder. “Today, honey, your father is on his way back, and there is a lot to get done once they open the doors.” Mia pulled a book from her cloak, flipping the pages quickly. One page held a fox with nine different trails varying in white and red colors.

“Did the fox resemble these colors?” The book hovered over my mom’s bed. Mom nodded her head. “Yes, except he was in a black suit, using a pen between his paws, almost laughing.” Mia hummed at my mom’s words.

“Sounds like a Nogitsune, a type of Kitsune and not a good one either. These are known for being the demons of the country of Japan. They trick people in all manners of life. They are cruel and take on terrible traits humans have. They hunt those humans who have pride and greed and do anything to get it. These foxes could even make a priest commit the ultimate sin. They don’t attack women, however, but they like to possess them. Your life isn’t in danger, but he would like to put you up on a pedestal. Who knows how many women he has already or any at all. Some Nogitsune’s are picky, and with your fire red hair, that of an elf might have stirred his interest.”

“Then I’ll dye it!” I interjected.

“Doesn’t matter; the older the Kitsune, the stronger their power. They could have that ink fall right out of your hair in an instant. Even the most powerful witches can be compared to an old Kitsune. This one must be male since it wants Trinity so bad, and he must have offered a lot of money to take her away. Not only that, once he has her, he will destroy your stepfather and take his money in the process.”

The entire ten-by ten medical ward was muted as we contemplated Mia’s words. No one had even heard of this creature, and they were supernaturals; how could they not know?

“What, what do we do?” I was at a loss; sure, I accepted werewolves, vampires, werebears, witches, and the sort were alive, and now some animal-human fox hybrid that has extra tails wanted me to put on some sort of shelf was not going to fly. In fact, my mates were going to have a field day.

“How do you kill it?” I demanded. No one was answering my questions about what we were going to do; by gods, I was going to kill the damn thing. Mia’s short, curvy body swiveled in her chair to meet me.

“Kill it?” She almost laughed. “It is complicated to kill one; in fact, I’m not sure if it is written anywhere!” Mia said, frustrated. Flipping through her notes, there was only a half of a page of the rare creature.

“Well, how are there not many!? They had to be killed off somehow!?” I argued.

“The Nogitsune’s are finicky! They only want the best to breed their heirs,” Mia yelled back. “If he really has six tails, he could be over four hundred years old; if he was that patient to wait for for the perfect genetic make-up he was looking for, he would find you if we don’t do something.”

“Well, he can’t do s**t because I’m infertile!” I yelled loudly. The entire bunker was at a standstill. The only sound that was heard was the timer of the several casseroles coming out of the oven. Stacy sat with Linhi, gripping ahold of her hand. Nothing but tragic faces stared back at me. Some with a few tears, some children didn’t understand, but the solemn room showed the seriousness of my statement.

“I’m infertile,” I whispered. The cement door at the top of the stairs ground on the floor, the doors opened slowly. My body took no time; my legs ran as fast as they could carry me as yells of my name told me to return back to the safety of the bunker.

Pushing through the wolves opening the door, I ran to the woods, ran to the nearest stream.

The dry leaves collected on my boots, the mud clogged the treds of my footing. The deep stream came up to my h**s as I ducked under the water.

Many believed a story I once read is true that once you dunk your head under clear water, you could rid of your sins of the world. Every bad thing you had done in your life could wash away like the dead leaves of the stream. If I dunked my body in just enough, maybe everything wrong I had ever done could cleanse me, make me pure to give my mates the children they had always dreamed of having with their mate.

They said it didn’t matter, but from the looks of every woman in that bunker proved not having a child, especially to two princes, meant something. I dunked my head lower and lower into the cold water. Tiny bits of snow began to drop into the moisture.

Again and again, I sat lower and lower into the sludge.

Finally standing up, I screamed as loud as I could. I was no breeder to some damn fox; if he even tried, he would come up with nothing.

“Trinity,” a whisper tickled my ear. “Trinity,” I looked around, drenched in the cold, frost building on the tips of my clothes.

“Trinity,” it goes again. Stepping on the embankment, I sat waiting for whatever damn animal, person, being, witch, or supernatural that wanted to talk to me to come forth. I was tired of listening for the damn for voices.

“b***h are you paying attention!?” The yell hit me so hard, my head flew back, hitting the leaves behind me. “I’m trying to be all spiritual and s**t, and you won’t answer me back. It’s annoying, now you listen here you crying, little p***y. You will have babies one day. I was hoping to surprise you, but you are throwing the temper tantrum of the century over here. You can’t have babies with anyone but your mates, alright?”

“Eva?” my voice quivered.

“No, your fairy f*****g godmother, of course, it’s Eva, you t**t!”

“Poop,” I sighed.

“Now listen, I wanted it to be a surprise, but you can only get pregnant by your mates, alright? And only during your heat. Like your actual heat, okay? Now that you know stop being so dramatic and get your a*s up. You got a fox to beat up, and on top of it all, Spencer is going to need some help. You ran right past him, and his mate is about to suck his d**k right in the middle of the damn courtyard.”

“He was?” I rubbed the tears from my cheek. “Yes, get back there now; your mates are PMSing you aren’t where you are supposed to be, and you are missing one hell of a show!”
