Her Revenge Contract
Chapter 118

Katherine's POV

I was stunned.

Plastic curtains were hung in the center of the living room, and something like a bed was inside.

The warrior who opened the door seemed shocked to see me and hurriedly blocked my sight.

"Luna, why are you here?" He asked, "It's late; you should be in bed already!"

Excuse me?!

Did I look like some child he was talking to?

Is he my mother?

I growled at him, balling my fists as the anger spread through my veins.

I was not going to stand here and be told to go to bed. I would not back down until I knew what was going on. He will let me in.

"What's going on?" I hissed impatiently, "I demand to see Alpha Xavier now!"

The warrior kept his composure and didn't move. I guess Xavier must have given him orders not to let me in.

I wonder why?

What was he hiding?

"Get out of the way!" I yelled, losing my temper. I saw red; who gave him the right to ignore me?

I was so angry that my hands shifted into razor-sharp claws. I could feel my aura expand, and the warrior and everyone inside whimpered, dropping their heads.

"I said, get out of my way!" I gave him a warning growl that shook the windows inside the room.

He looked over his shoulder, searching for help from the rest of the warriors, but they were too afraid to even look at me.

The warrior hesitantly moved out of my way, and I entered, smelling different kinds of potions and lotions. They were starting to burn my eyes and nose. What the f*ck is that smell?

I slowly approached the plastic curtains and hesitatingly moved them aside.

"Mate!" Kia yelled excitedly, and I knew that Xavier must be inside.

I carefully moved the plastic away, finding Xavier lying on the bed. His clothes were soaked in blood, and his face looked gray from all the blood loss. What's wrong with him?

I took a whiff and smelled only blood and medicine.

Someone must know what happened.

I carefully lifted Xaveir's hand into mine, seeing his arms and legs tied up and bruised.

Why wasn't Ray healing him?

Why was he tied to the bed?

Xavier lied on the bed unconsciously; only his eyelids moved from time to time.

"Xavier," I whispered, "can you hear me? I am here. Oh, Xavier, please wake up!" I whimpered as the tears filled my eyes and spilled over.

"What's wrong with him?" I asked, sniffing. The warrior came to stand next to me. He placed his hand supportively on my shoulder, lowered his head, and hesitated. Before he could tell me, the tall, blond woman walked in holding a black bag. Her eyes widen upon seeing me, and her face immediately turns dark in disapproval.

"Didn't you say you couldn't tell her?" The woman whispered to the warrior.

I couldn't care less what she had to say about me; I already despised her.

The woman sighed and opened her bag, then reached in and pulled out medical equipment.

"Are you a doctor?" I asked coldly.

"Yes," she answered, ignoring my gaze on purpose.

That's why she sneaked into his room every night to see Xavier. She was treating him. This must have been an order from Xavier when he was conscious.

The woman didn't hide the fact that she didn't like me. She took out two glass bottles with names I couldn't even pronounce and ejected Xavier with them.

"Your mate is very ill," she started to explain. "I have been treating him since the day you arrived here. His condition hasn't improved, and with him going out three days ago, his health only worsened."

As she said that, the doctor glanced at me, looking disappointed.

"It's a pity you didn't pay attention; if you hadn't gone all wild cat outside, he wouldn't have followed you, and we wouldn't have been in this predicament."

The warrior who had been listening to the conversation coughed, and the doctor's hands paused with a displeased expression on her face.

"He has silver poisoning," she said. "At first he just had a fever, probably because his wolf tried to heal him, but when he shifted, his wolf used most of his energy and is now not capable of healing him." I carefully listened to the doctor's words and took them to heart.

"How was he poisoned?" I asked, feeling tears building up behind my eyes.

I was the reason Xavier was this ill.

If I hadn't left, Xavier wouldn't have fallen.

"It seems like he was in some kind of fight," the doctor answered. "Beta Greyson says that you had trouble at the airport, and some traveling agent attacked him. The knife's blade broke off in his side." "That's why he didn't follow me," I said, turning to the warrior. "That's why Greyson came and looked for me."

The warrior nodded and lowered his head.

"Alpha tried to treat the wound himself," he said, "but he collapsed just outside your door."

"That's why he never came to see me that night," I whispered to myself.

The warrior nodded. "He made us promise not to say anything. He didn't want to make you feel responsible."

"But I am, if I..."

The warrior shook his head to stop me.

"He made that choice to go after you," he said with a serious face. "I would have gone after you even if he hadn't. You are our Luna, and you make my Alpha very happy. I have never seen him like this."

My gaze moved back to Xavier, and I felt bad for accusing him of all those things.Enjoy this chapter for free and stay updated with the latest version on Job_ni-b.c-om. Don't miss out, visit it now. I should not judge him without first having all the facts. My heart felt heavy in my chest, and I felt sorry for what happened to him.

I slowly picked up Xavier's hand in mine, feeling small sparks move between us.

"I'm sorry," I said. "I am sorry for being so arrogant and so careless. It is all my fault that you are so ill. Please, Xavier, please pull through. I need you."

I swallowed hard at the lump in my throat. "I promise that if you pulled through, I would listen to you."
