Her Revenge Contract -
Chapter 124
Katherine's
POV
I have never had such slow-burning, passionate sex in my life before.
Xavier was very careful, touching, rubbing, and kissing every part of my body tenderly.
"Mine!" He whispered as he claimed me again, releasing his seeds inside me and making me come out of pure pleasure. Xavier cleaned me up in the cold, crisp water; it was pure bliss after our bodies bore so much heat for one another.
He silently walked toward the forest, and he pulled me into his chest, kissing the top of my head tenderly.
I could hear Xavier's heart. It was racing against his chest.
Was he afraid?
Was something bothering him?
"Return with me," Xavier said. "My life will be meaningless without you by my side."
Xavier's words moved me, and Kia pleaded.
"Okay," I said, "I will."
The next day, we were packing our things and preparing for our trip home.
I felt much more relaxed-I could say even happier.
I lay on Xavier's shoulder, feeling tired, as the plane lifted into the air.
Xavier carefully covered me with a blanket, and the gesture reminded me of the old couple I saw on the plane weeks before. Will we end up like that?
Xavier closed his eyes, and I peeked at his handsome face.
Was Xavier really the wolf that I was destined to be with?
Will he help me find the one who started all this?
Xavier pulled me closer and wrapped his arms around me, and soon I fell into a dreamless sleep.
I woke up just before the plane landed. The trip felt much shorter with Xavier by my side.
"Take a break," I said. "You'd be tired of holding me all the time."
"No," Xavier shook his head, "I'm not tired. I will never become tired of holding you." And my face heated up hearing it.
As soon as we stepped off the plane, a group of reporters surrounded us.
I gritted my teeth together out of annoyance.
"Ms. King, you have lately announced your breakup with Mr. Black on social media," a reporter with spiky brown hair asked, smiling. "Why have you returned with Mr. Black? Have you mended your relationship?"
"Mr. Black, do you have anything to say now that you have returned with the love of your life?" Another reporter asked.
"Ms. King, Ms. King, do you have any plans for the future? Will you be returning to the King Company?"
The reporters were throwing questions left, right, and center at us, and dozens of microphones were pushed in front of us.
Fortunately, the warriors, acting as bodyguards, did their duty; otherwise, those microphones would have knocked me to the ground already.
I sighed.
I didn't miss this kind of attention.
A black SUV was parked in the VIP area, and Kelly came to greet us. She was happy to see Greyson and ran to his side.
My heart pinched; it was my fault that they had been apart for some time.
"Alpha, Luna," Kelly greeted us with a smile and winked at me.
I nodded in response, turned, and got into the SUV.
The reporters chased after us until we entered Xavier's pack.
Greyson, in the meantime, gave Xavier a report of what was happening in both companies. Kelly must have informed him before we landed. "Everything is running normally in Black Umbrella," Greyson said, "but unfortunately there are some minor problems in the King Group." "Luna will be returning to her company to deal with it," Xavier said, taking me by surprise. "Inform Kelly to arrange it."
Xavier became quiet for a second before he added, "Inform the reporters that there will be a formal gala tonight." Greyson nodded and began to work.
I was stunned.
I pulled Xavier to me and whispered in his ear.
"Do you really want me to return to the King Group?" I said, "I don't have any shares in the Group anymore."
"What's mine is yours," he said, "and the shares you gave me belong just as much to me as to you. Of course, I need you to return; you already know the group like the back of your hand. I wouldn't be able to trust anyone else to decide the faith of the company." Xavier looked at me with so much love and pecked my lips.
"Don't worry," he said with a smile, "I will always watch over you. You don't have to worry about anything else. You just need to dress up beautifully and attend the gala with me."
The familiar packhouse came into view, and many things ran through my mind-memories of me and Xavier.
My emotions spiral in different directions.
So many things have happened in the last couple of months, and the best memories were made in the last month.
A smile formed on my lips. We will be making new memories here.
"Xavier," I said, just before he got out of the car.
"Yes?"
"We will have to do a ceremony to join the packs soon," I said.
Xavier nodded, got out of the car, walked to the passenger side, and opened my door.
"You are right," he said, "let me ask Kelly to check for a suitable date."
I nodded and smiled, and before long, a familiar voice called my name.
"Kate, you are finally back!" Julia's voice came from the front door. She has been moving between the two packs, enjoying the company and friends she has made here. She walked over and took the suitcase from me.
She didn't look a day older than she was. Now that Rose and Erika were gone, she even looked younger and more full of energy.
It had been just over a month since I sneaked out and left Xavier here, yet everything in front of me looked different and happier, almost like a new sun had risen over the pack. I felt overwhelmed.
Xavier must have noticed the change in my emotions and took my hand in his.
"Come on," he said, "you look tired. Let's get you some rest."
I followed Xahier to my old room, and everything was still exactly the same as when I left it. It hadn't changed at all.
Xavier placed my bag on my desk and turned to me.
"I am quickly going to work," he said. "I have a few things I need to attend to. In the meantime, get some rest. I will send Greyson to pick you up this evening."
