Jayden, Jayda, and Jack stare at Dante in disbelief. Jack smiles. He knows what it feels like to eat in a soup kitchen. Jack sometimes slipped away when his parents were out and got food at one of the soup kitchens in his area. He is not afraid to work there as he would love to give back to the people who once fed him.

“It is not that bad. I ate there sometimes when my parents were drunk or went out. I would love to work there to give back to the people that fed me sometimes,” Jack says. Dante smiles. He gets up and ruffles Jack’s hair.

“You will never have to eat at one again. You are my son now, and you are a Casella, but I want you to remember where you came from and never forget that everyone in this world, poor or rich, should be handled with the same respect as long as they respect you,” Dante says.

“Are we still grounded then?” Jayda asks, hoping they can play their game if and when they have time. She knows they will still have to do homework after their shift at a soup kitchen. However, she does not know if they will have time to play games anymore.

“Yes, your mother grounded you. You will be grounded and working at the soup kitchen for a month,” Dante says. Jennie, who was listening in are, pleasantly surprised at how Dante handled the situation. Jayden, Jayda, and Jack come walking out of Dante’s office. The twins do not look too happy, but Jack seems happy. He is glad he did not get a beating, and working at a soup kitchen is not that bad for him.

“Surely, dad will not let us work in a soup kitchen! I am calling grandma!” Jayda says she is not happy that she will have to do hard labour.

“And, how are you going to call grandma? You do not have a phone,” Jayden asks> he is also not thrilled to work in a soup kitchen, but he is also not willing to go against his father’s wishes.

“Dammit, I forgot, mom took our phones! So this is child labour!” Jayda says. She was thinking of acting sick so her mother would come and pick her up from school and she could meet Jason, but she knows now that her father will not allow it and that her mother will think she is trying to get out of working at the soup kitchen so her plan will not work! Jennie smiles as she hears Jayda complain. She is glad Dante thought of this plan as Jayda is a real brat. Jennie walks into Dante’s office, and he tells her about his plan.

“I know. Jayda is accusing you of child labour and wants to call her grandmother,” Jennie laughs.

“Wow, I never thought she was such a little brat. We need to talk to the grandparents on both sides and the Aunts and Uncles to stop spoiling them so much,” Dante says.

“I agree,” Jennie says. She walks around Dante’s table and goes and sit on his lap. She k****s him as she is so happy he is such a great father. What he did was the right thing. Their children, especially the twins, need to see how the poor communities work, and they need to learn that what they have is a privilege.

The following day after school, the trio is picked up from school and taken to Dante’s office. There is an office where they can first do their homework and change their clothing in the bathroom before going to the soup kitchen with their dad and his men. Jayda is still not happy she lost her last chance to meet Jason, and her little heart is not pleased with her father right now. When Dante walks in, the children are done with their homework and dressed in jeans and t-shirts, ready to work in the soup kitchen. Dante greets his children, and the boys greet him back, but Jayda does not speak to her father. Dante smiles. He knows his little princess, and she has a heart of gold. Once she works and sees the people at the soup kitchen, her little heart will melt for them, and she will be happy to serve them and get to know more about them.

They drive to the soup kitchen in the middle of an old neighbourhood, where the people are poor, and some parents have to work two jobs to support their families. When they get out, the three children look around. Jayda feels ashamed when she sees the hungry people lining up for a bit to eat. She walks to the old lady serving the food and starts helping her get the food out as fast as possible. Jayda thinks of the food she sometimes leaves on her plate, and she feels sad that this is the only meal some of the children and older people will get for the day. Jayden and Jack start washing dishes, and none of the three complains. Jyden and Jayda, who have never seen this side of life, feel sorry for the people, and their little heart goes out to the people lining up for food.

Dante also helps, and when the food runs out, Dante calls one of his men to bring more food for the people as many have not eaten yet. Jennie has told Jason about the trio’s punishment, and as Jason feels sorry for the trio, he goes to the soup kitchen. Jason is wealthy, and he bought many products and meat that the soup kitchen can use in the future. He promises himself that he will do it every week. The trio and Dante are so busy they do not see the black SUV pulling up. A young teenage boy gets out of the SUV and walks to the kitchen. His men are bringing in many products and meat, and other foods. Jason feels humbled when he sees the hungry people lining up for food. He never had to, and he feels ashamed that he never thought of giving to the more unfortunate.

Jayda looks up and sees the handsome young teenage boy walking to where she is helping an old lady. She does not know who he is, but her little heart beats fast. Can it be? Is this Jason? The only one who will come here and a wealthy young man will be their leader, Jason.

“Hi, you must be Jayda. I am Jason. We play games together. Your mother told me I would find the three of you here, so I am here to help,” Jason says. Jayda can not speak as her mouth feels dry. She is only eight, well, almost eight, but she has had a crush on Jason for a long time, and it was before she even met him.

“Umm, yeah, I am Jayda,” Jayda says in a small voice.

“You are so cute,” Jason says and pinch her cheek. CUTE! Jason called her cute! Like she is a baby. Jayda helps the old lady, and Jason walks off to go and see if he can help Jayden and Jack with the dishes. Jayda felt like crying. She wished she was older. Maybe one day, when she is older, Jason will see her as more than cute. Jayda sighs. He is so dreamy, but she knows he only sees her as a child. Well, at least she knows what he looks like now, and she can dream about one day when she is older.

Jason is unaware of how little Jayda is feeling about him. He sees her as a child who one day be as beautiful as her mother. Jason has a secret crush on Jennie, but he will never admit it to anyone, and he respects Jennie a lot for her work. He also knows she loves her husband with all her heart and is a mother of three children and too old for him. Still, his young heart can not help to feel love for Jennie. He is always thinking of reasons to see her, and he knows he will have to stop doing it as it is unhealthy and he needs to start dating girls his age, but they are all so childish, and he does not have any interest in them.

The trio, Dante and Jason, work for about two hours before going home. Jayda is quiet as she can not stop thinking about the children at the soup kitchen and Jason. He is so dreamy. She can not wait to tell Tammy tomorrow that she met their leader and he is handsome. The next day at school, all Jayda can talk about is Jason and the soup kitchen. She asks her teachers if they can ask the children at school to bring old clothes and toys they do not wear anymore or play with anymore. She tells her teachers about the soup kitchen, and the school decides to ask the parents for donations of clothing and old toys and food. The foursome starts collecting from their friends, and they show the children at the school photos of the children in the poor neighbourhood. All their friends wanted to also help at the soup kitchens, and the school decided to give each class a day where they could go and support at a soup kitchen for two hours.

The teachers know it will give the privileged children a chance to learn to become humble and realise how privileged they are. So when the parents hear that Dante and Jennie are doing it with their children, they are all on board. Some are doing it for publicity, and others are doing it to teach their children valuable life lessons. It does not matter to the trio as long as the poor children get some help. So Jayda, Jayden and Jack make some good friends among the poor children, and Dante helps some go to better schools and even pay for some of the older children with the potential to go to university. When other business people hear about this and see how it positively impacts Dante’s business, they all jump in to sponsor children and help the poorer neighbourhoods in the city.

Tammy and Jayda are now both working at the soup kitchen, and both have a massive crush on Jason, who is also helping at the soup kitchen. Dante and Jennie find it funny as the two young girls are always complete for poor Jason’s attention. Jennie remembers when she was Jayda’s age and had a crush on Dante. Dante was closer to her age, though, but she does not blame her daughter and Tammy for crushing on Jason as he is a handsome young man.

One day Jennie is sitting in her office when Dante surprises her with a bunch of her favourite flowers. Blue roses. Since her wedding day, it has become her favourite flower. There is a card attached, and Jennie smiles while reading it.

“To the most beautiful woman in the world. I love you and wants to take you away for the weekend. The trio will be staying at their grandparents’ house for the weekend, so you will have to do without them for a whole weekend. Sorry about that, love, but I need to have you all to myself for a few days. You loving husband, Dante,” The card reads. Jennie smiles. She knows she will have to learn to be without her children. The punishment month for the trio is over, and they got their consoles and other things back. They have not grounded anymore and can visit their grandparents and friends again. They also do not have to work at the soup kitchen anymore, but they ask if they can work there at least two or three times a week. Dante and Jennie agreed as the children have grown very attached to the people at the soup kitchen. The whole city is now involved in the soup kitchens and charity organisations all over the city of LA. Jennie can not believe it all started with Dante and their children in their house. She is so proud of Dante and how he taught their children a valuable life lesson. All people should be treated the same, whether you are poor or wealthy, and no matter what your past is, you should be given a chance in life. She knows some of the rich do it to better their status and business in the city, but it does not matter to her as long as the poorer communities have a chance now, especially the poorer children.
