Bianca's POV

The blade screamed beneath Ethan, a cracked maw of darkness that threatened to consume him whole. As I reached out, my heart pounded, and disappointment flooded through my veins. "Ethan, no!" I cried as I felt the shadows creep nearby, eager to drag him into their depths.

The ground shook, and he saw darkness surrounding him. "You can't leave me!" I screamed, focusing every ounce of magic in me to create a connection of light between us. Derek's laughter echoed around us, mocking and cruel. "Here ends your story, Bianca!" he laughed, violence dripping from his voice. "You're nothing without that, and he's nothing without a shadow!" I pushed through the oncoming darkness, my magic flashing in response to my fear. "We're stronger than you think!" I screamed ferociously, channeling my energy into our shared bond. The light flickered, illuminating the shadows wrapped around Ethan, but the darkness was unrelenting.

Ethan's POV

I felt the ground give way beneath me, the sword threatening to swallow me whole. Panic rose in my chest as I resisted the pull of the shadow. "Bianca!" I screamed as his presence flashed like a dying star.

The darkness pressed in, and whispers of doubt filled my mind. "You're too weak," Derek's voice laughed. "You'll never miss this place!" "No!" I roared, forcing my magic into action. I felt for Bianca.

I summoned all my strength to remove the shadow. "Together!" I screamed as I reached the light that connected us. But as I felt her warm energy wrap around me, the ground turned again, and I felt closer to the edge. Bianca's POV

Are fighting lights for me, wrapping around me like a lifeline. "I won't give up!" The light flowed between us, but I could feel it waver as the shadows pushed forward. "Ethan, hold on!" I demanded, my voice muffled.

I poured more magic on him in the bind, wanting to pull him back from his neck. But Derek wasn't giving up, slamming into my barrier and releasing a wave of dark energy. "You think you can ignore me?"

He roared in a voice that literally shook the surrounding air. "I've eaten you both!" I felt the pressure of that darkness squeezing my magic, threatening to destroy my relationship with Ethan.

"We can't let him win!" I screamed, wanting to strengthen our bond. "Bianca!" Ethan's voice pierces through the chaos, a beacon of hope. I saw him fall deeper and deeper, his determination shining like a candle in the sky.

Ethan's POV

The shadows circled around me, and the whispers grew louder. "You are alone," they gasped. "You'll never escape." But Bianca's light cut through the darkness, the lifeline that tugged at my soul.
