Chapter 18

Alpha Calvin

I’m woken up by a link coming through, It’s Brooke and she sounds panicked and I’m instantly on alert as I concentrate on what she says.

“Cal, Cal wake up, please wake up!”

“I’m awake, what’s wrong baby?” I don’t know what’s going on but I’ve got a sinking feeling in my stomach.

“Cal she’s gone, Beth’s gone. I can’t find her anywhere!” What the f**k?

“Where are you, baby?”

“I’ve just got back to my room.” I can hear her trying to hold back her tears and my heart picks up its pace as I feel her emotions rush through my body.

“Liam wake up!” I shout out loudly causing him to jump off the bed and straight into a fighting stance, he’s always ready for war this guy and I f*****g love it.

“What’s going on Alpha?” He checks every inch of the room before slightly relaxing.

“Liam Brooke can’t find Bethany!” I say it slowly and carefully as I know he’s going to lose his shit.

“YOU f*****g WHAT?” Yup there it is and I don’t blame him I would be exactly the same. Beth may not be able to feel their mate bond yet but Liam can and he is going to tear this place apart looking for her, and I’m right behind him.

“Let’s get to the girl’s room and see Brooke, find out what’s going on.” We both use our wolf speed to make quick work of getting dressed and we’re at Brooke’s door in 3 minutes. She opens the door before my hand even touches the handle and instantly breaks down.

Beta Liam

I get woken up sharply by Calvin’s voice shouting out to me, I’m instantly in Beta mode and use my wolf speed to jump out of the bed and be ready to fight. I look around but I can’t see anyone, any danger or smell any other wolves apart from Calvin. I stop when my eyes reach his and I instantly know something is wrong and the moment he tells me what’s happening my heart stops, my b***d boils and I feel a rage burn through my veins like never before!

We get to the girl’s room in minutes and Brooke is a mess, she’s sobbing her heart out and it’s horrible to see but I need to get this search started, I can’t stand around waiting any longer!

“Brooke, what’s happened?” I keep my tone calm with her despite how I’m feeling.

“I don’t know Liam, I woke up and she wasn’t here, I assumed she was in the bathroom but she wasn’t and then I noticed her phone on the nightstand, she never goes anywhere without that plus when I woke up, we had only been sleeping for about 2 hours as we stayed up talking till gone 4. I’ve searched everywhere. I checked downstairs then outside and she wasn’t anywhere but…” She’s talking fast and by the time she finished her tears have resurfaced.

“But what Luna?” I already know I’m not going to like this.

“When I was about to come back inside something caught my eye on the floor, I went to check it out and I found this.” She hands me something, and as soon as I see it my f*****g heart drops!

“Her neckless, her neckless with your parent’s rings on…she’d never go anywhere without this!”

“I know and she’d feel it falling off because of the weight and hear it hit the ground with her hearing and she wouldn’t just leave it behind, Liam I’m so sorry…I’m so sorry!” By the time she finished talking she is sobbing her heart out again, Calvin reaches out to her but I’m quicker as I wrap my arms around her.

“Hey, hey Brooke shhh this isn’t your fault, ok? This isn’t your fault and I don’t want you thinking any different, I will find her if it’s the last thing I do and whoever has done this will suffer!”

“Liam’s right Brooke!” I look to him and give him a grateful nod as I slowly turn Brooke around and into his arms, most wolves wouldn’t dare allow another male to comfort their mate but Calvin knows I love Brooke like a sister and that’s all it will ever be.

He’s mentioned more than once that he loves the bond we have and I already know he’s forming the same bond with Bethany. After a few minutes she manages to calm down and we start trying to figure out this mess.

“Ok Liam, Bethany may be Brooke’s sister and mine but she’s your mate and we will follow your lead on this until you say any different. I’m grateful for him allowing me to lead, Jonah won’t stand still for long with our mate missing, and neither will I!

“Thank you, brother I appreciate it, I’m going to see Marcus!” I head straight for the door with both Cal and Brooke on my tail.

I head straight for the Alpha floor, screaming his name and banging every door on the floor until finally, he appears out of the room on the opposite end to me. He’s in his boxers and I can see I’ve clearly woken him up but I don’t care!

“Where is Bethany?” I don’t have time to waste.

“Beta Liam, what’s going on?” He looks completely confused but I’m not falling for that.

“Don’t play games with me, Alpha Marcus, I want her back and I want her back now!”

“Seriously Beta Liam, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Alpha Calvin, would you care to explain why I’m being woken up at this early hour by your screaming Beta?” Calvin goes on to tell him what’s happened and he’s quick to respond and I know straight away that he isn’t lying and I f*****g hate it. I was convinced he had her and if he doesn’t then who the f**k has her? Where the f**k is my mate?

“Alpha Marcus I’m sorry for being disrespectful towards you, I’ll be honest I thought you had something to do with this but I can see I was wrong.”

“It’s fine Beta Liam, I can understand your concern although I would have expected this more from the Alpha or Luna rather than yourself!” He’s looking at me suspiciously and as much as I know I need to rein myself in I can’t.

“Alpha Marcus, Beta Liam, and Bethany have become great friends since she arrived at our pack, she is like a sister to him and this is tearing us all apart!” Thankfully Calvin is straight in there saving my a*s and thankfully Alpha Marcus seems to be buying it.

“I can understand that, I still feel a connection to Bethany myself as her best friend’s brother!” I force back the growl that is trying to break free from Jonah and work on taking deep breaths before I lose my s**t and rip his throat out!

“Let’s head to the sitting room and figure this out, I swear I don’t know anything about Bethany disappearing but I will do everything I can to help you find her.” Both Brooke and Calvin quickly thank him while I send him a grateful nod, I’m still too angry to speak, I may believe that he doesn’t have anything to do with Bethany’s disappearance but that doesn’t mean I suddenly trust him either!

Alpha Marcus

We make our way to the lounge on my floor and my mind is a jumble, what the f**k is going on? Where the f**k is my Bethany?” We all take a seat and they catch me up on what they know.

“I don’t understand what’s happened. She wouldn’t go wandering off by herself without telling anyone and certainly not without her phone…Could she have gone for a run?”

“She’s 15 Alpha, Marcus, she doesn’t have her Wolf yet!” Luna Brooke informs me.

“Of course, she doesn’t, I completely forgot! Ok, I’m going to get my best men into the kitchen for a meeting, we need to start searching right away!” She’s my future Luna and no fucker touches her apart from me and if I have to keep being nice to these bunch of assholes to find her then I will!

Beta Liam’s behavior towards me earlier hasn’t gone unnoticed either, if that prick thinks he’s got some sort of claim to my Beth s****l or otherwise he’s got another thing coming…I will rip his f*****g head off!

Bethany

It feels like my body is being lifted in the air, I can feel arms around my body but I feel so tired and groggy I know I must be dreaming; I’m floating through the air like magic and I can’t open my eyes, this is a wired dream.

I continue to feel the same feeling for what feels like minutes before a blinding light suddenly floods my eyelids, I slowly start opening my eyes adjusting to the bright light, once I’m finally able to open them I soon realize I’m not dreaming, I am being carried by someone and I’m outside the packhouse

It takes my body a few minutes to catch up with my mind but I soon start kicking out and punching the person carrying me, he’s incredibly strong and I’m no match for him but that’s not going to stop me from trying.

I bite down on his shoulder and he yelps and jumps long enough for me to get free, I fall on my a*s but quickly bounce to my feet and start running for the packhouse, I am seconds away from the front door and getting help but unfortunately, I’m not quick enough as I’m pulled back by my tee-shirt, a hand covers my mouth and I soon feel darkness take over.

“Wakey wakey b***h face!” I’m groggy, seriously groggy, I can faintly hear a female’s voice but I’m struggling to open my eyes, before I can even think I’m hit with a freezing cold sensation and my eyes fly open. I repeatedly blink my eyes while trying to clear my vision and I’m soon met with a girl standing in front of me holding an empty water bottle, she literally threw water over me what the f**k?

“Well hello princess, it’s about time you joined us, anyone would think you are on vacation there with the nap you were taking!” I don’t know what’s going on but I know I’ve never seen this girl before.

I try to move my hands but they are tied behind my back, I pull on my legs but they are tied to this unconformable wooden chair that I am sitting in, my head is pounding and my mouth feels like sandpaper despite just being soaked with ice-cold water!

“What’s going on? Who are you?” My voice comes out barely above a whisper and crocky from the dryness.

“My name is Zoe and all you need to know is I am the person that is going to ruin your life!”
