Chapter 49

Beta Liam

The BBQ is tonight and I can’t wait! It’s being thrown as a makeup party for Ashley after the disaster of his birthday party and to celebrate me finally being back to my normal self, of course, it’s also being thrown for Jack to propose to Ashley.

Most people keep that moment personal and just for the two of them but I have to admit this is the perfect way Jack could propose, Ashley is bold and lively and loves nothing more than a good party surrounded by everyone he loves and to make it even better Jack decided last minute to make it fancy dress so most of the pack has cut work early today to get costumes. Ashley is going to love it!

I and Cal are covering everything that needs doing including Jack’s duties so he can concentrate on the party, which means we are leaving Brooke to pick up our customs, for the love of the goddess I hope Brooke plays nice!

I left the pack lands after lunch to visit a neighbouring pack, they recently lost their Alpha during an attack and now his 18-year-old son has been left to take over and he’s struggling so we are trying to help him, we were allies with his dad and have decided to honour the alliance with his son but honestly, he needs a lot of help and a huge kick up the a*s.

It should have been a quick visit but instead, it resulted in a 3-hour trip and a huge headache for me! And if that isn’t bad enough, I’m still on my way home and the BBQ has already started, I don’t mind being late but we have Alpha Romero, his Luna and Alpha Tito plus some of their higher-ranking members attending tonight.

All of the members that have come with them are unmated so they are properly hoping to find their mates at our pack, Alpha Tito is still unmated to and at 25 I know he’ll be getting nagged to death about it.

Finally, I pull up and head straight for my room to grab a quick shower and change, I link Calvin and let him know I’ll be with him shortly and pray Brooke has been kind to me with my costume.

“Liam your costume is hanging up in your closet!” Brooke chimes in my head as she links me. She sounds like she is either smiling or laughing and I get the feeling I’ve been screwed over here somehow.

Ahh f**k it, it’s all for a laugh and good cause and I’ve never been one to shy away from a challenge so bring it on, whatever she has got me I’m just going to enjoy it and tonight!

After the quickest shower of my life, I brace myself for the reveal, I head into my closet and I see it, it’s a…a rabbit costume, pink shorts, pink tank top, bunny ears and tail and a giant carrot plushy…well played Brooke, well played! Ahh, f**k it Let’s do this s**t! I get dressed in the outfit and head for the party, Egar to see my girl and she best be dressed as a nun!

Bethany

The BBQ is most defiantly in full swing, I’m not sure who actually arranged this but whoever it was done a seriously good job, it’s outside on the pack lands with a huge canopy overhead that’s draped in fairy lights, there’s a DJ set in front of a huge light-up dance floor, there are two bars, one on either side of the dance floor and loads of table and chairs scattered around the place and of to the side of the canopy there are 6 huge BBQ grills cooking up a storm!

It is bright and colourful and reeks of fun which is exactly what this pack needs right now, it’s also fancy dress which is always fun, Brooke was in charge of Calvin and Liam’s outfits as they had to work but she won’t tell me what Liam’s is yet, said I have to wait and see and the suspense is killing me! Where is he?

Brooke has dressed up as a cowgirl and she teamed Calvin up as a cowboy, she has gone the whole nine yards and I must admit they look good. Ashley has come as Batman and Jack as Robin, seems quite fitting really doesn’t it. Katie has come as a fairy and the girl looks good, I can see she’s feeling shy but she has no reason to, I wish she could see how beautiful she is, inside and out.

I find my mind wandering back to Liam when thankfully Brooke pulls me over to her and I’m giving the perfect distraction as she introduces me to everyone from the other packs. Alpha Romero and his Luna Tiffany have come with their Beta Alessio, top warrior Wyatt plus 5 other warriors and 4 she-wolves and they are all unmated, then there’s Alpha Tito, his Beta Colton, his Gamma Jayden and 3 other warriors and 6 she-wolves, every one of them is unmated, everyone seems so nice and I find myself hoping that some of them can get lucky tonight and find their mate.

“Hey pretty lady, let’s go shake our booties!” I turn around to be greeted by a beaming Ashley, I swear this guy is always up for a party. He takes hold of my hand and drags me along to the dance floor, stopping twice along the way, once to take hold of Katie’s hand and then to give Jack a quick peck as we pass him.

Soon enough we are dancing and laughing without a care in the world and it feels like the last couple of months haven’t happened, I feel free! Katie is beaming too; she has come out of her shell so much since I meet her and just as I suspected everyone loves her just as much as I do. Brooke joins us for a short time before she needs to sit back down, the poor girl isn’t having it easy with her pregnancy.

“Oh yes baby, this is what I’m talking about!” Ashley screams out full of excitement, he starts swinging his h**s and sticking out his a*s and I soon realise his excitement is over the song that has come on, Peter Andreas mysterious girl, both I and Katie bellow out with laughter before we join him, you know what they say if you can’t beat them, join them.

Beta Liam

Finally, I arrive at the party, 2 hours late but I’m here and ready to blow off some steam! the moment I step inside the canopy Brooke bounces up to me.

“Hey, Liam do you like your outfit?”

“It’s great, thank you, Brooke, couldn’t have picked better myself?” A cheesy grin spread across my face.

“Your very welcome!” She has a playful smirk on her face while the cheers and banter start from pretty much everyone that passes me, it’s all in the name of a good laugh but Brooke is lucky I love her I can tell you that much!

The moment I reach the table I look over and see Bethany dancing with Ashley and Katie and I’m not impressed. They certainly ain’t no f*****g nun costume!

“What the f**k is she wearing?” Bethany is dressed up in an army outfit consisting of tiny combat shorts, a tight white vest and black boots, her long blonde hair is curled and she’s wearing a matching hat, I may not be sexually invested in her yet because of her age but you would have to be blind to think she looks anything but f*****g incredible and I know she’s going to be in the dreams of many teenage boys tonight, f**k!

“This isn’t happening, hell no!” I shout out but all I get in return is Calvin, Jack and Brooke laughing while inside I feel rage, jealous and possessive, seriously possessive, she is mine even if she doesn’t know it yet and I can already see many boys and men checking her out and I want to tear them all apart!

“Liam baby come on now, you know it suits her, she’s your army girl!” Jack shouts my way with a wink.

“She looks too good that’s the problem!” f**k I just want to put her over my shoulder and lock her in her room until she is 18, the older she gets the more beautiful she becomes and I do not doubt that I will be rolling heads before she’s at my side as my mate.

“Liam she’s fine, she’s having fun and she’s safe, we are all watching her, I’m not even drinking so I’ll have my eye on her all night, just sit down, have a drink and enjoy the night, maybe get some dancing in with Bethany, that should put a smile on your face!” Brooke’s soothing Luna voice works its magic as always, I take a seat and accept the drink Jack offers to me and join in the conversation at the table, keeping one eye on Bethany at all times.

“What is that smell?” I look up to see Ryder one of our top warriors sniffing the air and looking around franticly and already I know what’s coming, as he stands up I look around and I can see a she-wolf from Alpha Tito’s pack doing the same two tables over, she slowly starts walking our way letting her nose guide her when she quickly appears in front of our table and Ryder quickly moves to stand in front of her, they both roar out ‘MATE’ at the same time with the biggest smiles on their faces and everyone around us stops what they are doing and cheers and whistles sound out around the grounds.

They soon disappear into the woods and I’m beaming for Ryder, he’s a great guy and has wanted his mate for a long time, I get that all too familiar tug in my heart seeing them walk off hand in hand but I swallow it down and finish the rest of my drink in one go.

Jack quickly returns with a refill for me and I thank him with a grateful smile as most of the table continues enjoying the look of my costume and telling me about it.

Another hour of laughs and dancing pass by quickly and soon the DJ asks everyone to take a seat for an announcement, everyone looks confused aside from me, Calvin and Brooke, I’m guessing he told her about Jack’s plans. Everyone clears the dance floor taking their seats and I just so happen to have an empty seat next to me for my girl, and even better for me she takes it without any prompting from me.

“Well, hello there fluffy bum!” She winks up to me.

“Don’t start my little wolf or I’ll dunk you in the lake!” She lets out a giggle and it’s the cutest thing ever and the moment she sits down she beams up at me with her beautiful smile and I swear I stop breathing for a moment, thankfully I’m soon pulled from my thoughts by Jack’s voice as he speaks into the mic and walks over to Ashley who’s sitting on my other side looking worried and confused.

Gamma Ashley

The music gets stopped and everyone is asked to take a seat for an announcement, I don’t know what’s going on but it better be good after interrupting my fantastic dance moves to YMCA! We all quickly take a seat and quiet down when I suddenly hear Jack’s voice, it seems louder than normal, looking up I see him walking towards me with a mic in his hand and I’m confused, what the f**k is he up to now?

“Ashley, from the moment I first saw you I knew we would be together for the rest of our lives, within 1 day of meeting you I knew you were going to be a massive pain in my a*s, an absolute drama queen and you was gonna make me work for you but I also knew that I would do anything for you and more than anything I knew you would be the best thing to ever happen to me and I was right! There are no words to explain to you how much I love you but I promise to show you every day of our lives!”

“Ashley, I can’t imagine my life without you in it and I don’t want to, you are my best friend, my soul mate but I don’t want to call you my boyfriend, I want to call you my husband, so Ashley will you do me the honour of becoming my husband, will you marry me?”

Holy mother f*****g s**t balls I did not see this coming! I’ve always wanted it but I had no idea he was planning any of this! Tears suddenly burst out of my eyes like a burst mains pipe and my heart pounds against my chest like it’s trying to escape.

“YES YES YES, Of course, I will Jack, of course, I’ll marry you!” He shouts out yes in excitement before placing a beautiful ring on my wedding finger, the moment he’s done I fall forward into his lap and k**s every inch of his beautiful, beautiful face. I can’t believe it, I can’t believe we are getting married, I can’t believe I’m going to be a husband.

We spent the next hour celebrating with our family and friends before I drag j******f to bed to show him exactly how happy he’s made me; I think it’s safe to say we won’t be getting much sleep tonight but it will be more than worth it.
