Chapter 618: Easy and Comfortable
The man's words made the woman smile even wider. She stepped forward to Yanis and said, "Let me try it on."
Yanis helped her put it on and handed her a mirror. The delightful look in her eyes was genuine.
The woman really liked it.
The man took a glance at the necklace and was also impressed. He then turned to Yanis and asked, "How much is this necklace?"
Yanis replied, "Since you were introduced by Nancy, I'll give you a discount."
He looked at the price tag on the counter and continued, "It's originally 126 thousand dollars. If you want it, I can give it to you for 120 thousand." She knocked off six thousand just like that.
The man seemed wealthy enough that six thousand wasn't too much for him. But Yanis still gave him a good deal by rounding down.
The woman's eyes lit up when she heard the price reduction.
For the man, though, it wasn't exactly cheap for one necklace. He hesitated because they still had to buy engagement rings later that day.
"My dear, I really like this. I really, really like this," said the woman as she leaned in close to his ear. She whispered something into his ear, which made him smile immediately afterwards, as he responded with an affirmative nod of his head saying: "Okay, fine! You like it, so let's buy it!"
With those words spoken out loud, he pulled out his card from his wallet and handed over directly towards Yanis, saying: "Just swipe my card."
Yanis glanced over at the woman who winked back at her.
She reached out and took it. "OK."After swiping the card, she handed it back and said, "You can come back anytime if there are any issues or maintenance needs."
"Sure thing," replied the man as he took hold of their new purchase while adding: "We'll take another look at engagement rings later."
Yanis nodded in agreement before handing them both another catalogue filled with various ring designs.
The woman was still playing with the necklace around her neck.
Yanis asked softly. "Should you wear it now?"
The woman nodded. "Yes!"
"And here are the receipt and the box."
"Did you design all these rings yourself?" The woman looked at Yanis and asked, glancing at the photo book the man was flipping through. Yanis nodded, "Yes, original."
The woman admired Yanis and gave her a thumbs-up. "Nancy showed me her wedding ring, and I really liked it. Can you design one for us that's similar?"
Yanis was about to speak when the man interrupted, "Why do you want a wedding ring that looks like somebody else's?"
The woman pouted, "But I think Nancy's is very pretty."
The man said, "Our wedding rings shouldn't be the same as anyone else's."
The woman hesitated for a moment and then touched her neck. She seemed to remember that the man had just bought her a necklace, so she nodded and said, "Okay, let's look at other options." The man moved the catalog in front of the woman. "Take a look."
They looked through it for quite some time before finally choosing a pair of wedding rings that Yanis had just designed two days ago. The woman pointed to them with her finger.
Yanis took a glance at them and said, "This style may be more affordable but will take slightly longer to make. When is your wedding date?"
The man asked her how long it would take.
"More than three months," Yanis replied.
"Can we get them in four months?"
Yanis nodded her head. "Absolutely no problem."
"Then we'll go with this one. We'll come to take it when it's done. Make sure it's genuine?" The man said.
Yanis answered with a smile, "You can rest assured that our products are all genuine for sale. Here you can ask an inspector to come for on-site inspection."
The man nodded and looked at the woman. "This one?"
She also loved it so she happily nodded in agreement and said, "Yes."
Yanis wrote down their order on an invoice paper while asking them if they wanted bigger or smaller diamonds on the man's ring.
"That way looks good," replied the woman.
"In that case," Yanis explained further "I'll follow my original design where both rings have matching diamonds but those on women's are slightly smaller than men's." "All right then," agreed both.
After taking their measurements, she prepared an invoice stating the total cost of 166500 dollars which they could pay by making an advance payment of 100000 dollars now, and the rest after verifying the goods on delivery satisfaction later on, which made sense to both parties involved.
"That works for me," said the man without hesitation as this price range was within his budget limits. Plus, Yanis could make the final call on the price since this was a custom order. Unlike other jewelry stores where the price was fixed and maybe a small discountat most.
Even though it's not a huge amount of money saved, both the man and woman are smiling with satisfaction.
After finishing, Yanis sent the design to the factory for production and showed the female client all of the steps involved through screenshots.
"Okay no problem. I'll introduce your store to my friend," replied her client via message.
Yanis thanked her before Bonnie suddenly popped up from beside her asking if she had any plans for later that afternoon, since she was going to visit a client at their office while Myles went off to attend an ancestral ceremony with Haider's family.
"Do you want me to come along?" asked Yanis.
Bonnie waved her off, saying she could handle it alone.
"Are you sure?"
Bonnie made an "okay" gesture with her hand, adding that she was feeling great today.
Yanis didn't press further but reminded her to drive safely before Bonnie left for her appointment.
Thinking about Nancy's introduction of her store to her friend, Yanis chatted with Nancy briefly before setting up lunch plans together later on in the week. She also took care of some other customers' needs before informing Linda about her departure from work and headed out around noon time towards Mia's place. She brought fruit and snacks along as well as materials needed for lunch preparation.
Mia greeted her excitedly, Natasha helped carry everything inside while Taylor and Payne came over too just to say hello briefly.
"Is Reed at home taking care of your mom?" asked Yanis looking towards Natasha who nodded affirmatively saying Reed had gone over there earlier that morning.
"In that case, tell your mom not to worry about making lunch today because I'll bring something over later." Natasha nodded again gratefully in response.
Natasha didn't seem embarrassed around Yanis today, unlike before.
No matter what she said, Natasha was always cooperative and never bothered to thank Yanis again and again.
Yanis really enjoyed this kind of easy-going relationship with her.
Mitch's message came in while she was preparing lunch.
Perhaps Reed or Natasha had told Mitch that she was cooking here, so he messaged Yanis to ask for a favor. Yanis replied briefly and then packed up their meals to take to the hospital.
