I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 24
Dominic buried his head in his hands, sitting on the edge of the bed. His blond hair dripped water down his arms as he hadn’t had the mind to dry it properly. Behind him lay the body of the omega, his omega, who had been unconscious for almost two days.
He didn’t want to remember, but the images of what he saw when he awoke from his heat haunted him even now, leaving him with a total sleeplessness. The lacerations, the various bruises, the marked fingers on every part of his body, the deep bites around his neck and chest that at the time were a horrible colour, his own semen that still continued to come out of the boy’s anus and that mark on the back of his neck that was turning purpler and purpler with every passing second.
He had washed his body carefully, smeared a cream on the bites and bruises, even inside him, finding some torn anal muscles. She had made sure to get him clean before putting him back to bed and covering him with a thick quilt but she knew he wouldn’t feel that way when he woke up.
He had no clear memory of what had happened, only an excitement that clouded his judgement and only made him crave more to the point of no satiation. If he had known that the cause of it was the omega under, on top, on the side of him, he would have made the attempt to stop.
Now Aidan had her mark on his neck, the one that defined him as hers, as it should be, but he didn’t want it to be that way. He bit his lips until he felt his own b***d. He was an a*****e. He knew his heat was near and he had brought it with him knowing that complications could occur. Madox had every right to beat him until he was satisfied.
He heard a slight g***n and looked behind him in alarm.
Aidan was moving slowly, trying to push the sheets away. Dominic sat down beside him but didn’t touch him, he couldn’t foresee his reaction.
-Aidan,” he called softly.
The omega moved a little more before opening his eyes so slowly that Dominic thought he was still sleeping.
-What a relief,” he exclaimed at the sight of that pair of tired, disoriented orbs, “You had me scared,” he tried to sound normal.
But Aidan didn’t think so, as soon as he saw him, he sat up in bed and put some distance between them. He clutched the sheet to his chest as if it were a thick wall of protection and trembled markedly. Memories came flooding back and all he could see were Dominic’s intense green eyes and his predatory urges. Dominic for his part felt as if a bucket of cold water had been dropped on him. The worst thing an alpha could endure was to be rejected or feared by his omega and that was what he saw in his eyes.
-Aidan,” he called, “My rut is over, it’s all right,” he tried to talk some sense into him.
The omega stayed still for at least two minutes, time that Dominic didn’t do anything either studying his reaction. After that he stopped shaking realising that the last vision he remembered of Dominic was no more, but the alpha he knew. He brought his fingers to the mark on his neck and shuddered under his touch, more than hurting it was very tender and not yet fully healed.
-If you want to take a bath the tub is ready with hot water and if you are hungry I can send for something,” Dominic got up and prepared a glass of water with Madox’s medicine, he hadn’t taken it for some time so he was worried about extending the withdrawal period any further.
She approached him and offered it to him. Aidan seemed cautious, different from the determined young man she knew. His shoulders were slightly hunched and his chin was unaccustomedly high. The omega looked at the glass and raised his hand gently to take it but as soon as his fingers touched his he accidentally released the glass, spilling the contents onto the bed and him on the other end, again trembling.
Dominic took a deep breath. The helplessness was killing him. If only he could turn back time. He longed to wake up with him in his arms and k**s him again, not for him to run away from his touch. He took two steps back after picking up the glass to set it back on the bedside table.
-I’ll leave your medicine here, if you want anything you can ask for it or call me on my mobile phone,” he rounded the bed and headed for the door but before closing it behind him he turned slightly, “Aidan, I didn’t want things to be like this either, I’m really sorry,” he said.
The click of the door knocked down the boy’s spirits. Tears streamed down his cheeks and he buried his face in the pillow, muffling his audible sobs. He knew Dominic hadn’t meant what had happened, it was in his nature, but even his body remembered the pain and the refusal to be taken so violently.
Now he was at a crossroads. On the one hand he trembled before him but on the other there was something inside him that made him feel sick when the alpha left the room leaving her alone. He touched his chest, near his heart, an ache was beginning to build up there and he gasped for breath to relieve it. He didn’t understand himself now.
Dominic went down the elevator to the hotel cafeteria and ordered the strongest, biggest coffee they had. The caffeine would give him the jolt of strength he needed to search for a solution to the answer he was looking for. He felt the mobile phone vibrate in his pocket and the name that appeared on the screen was the person he least wanted to hear. Still he answered it, ignoring it would only make things worse. Madox was capable of showing up there in just a few hours questioning him as to why he didn’t answer. He was his best friend but he was too intense and overprotective of him.
-Tell me,” he hung up without much encouragement.
-So how did your heat go, is your omega safe?
Those words made him feel worse.
-Madox, I need your help, the one thing I didn’t want happened.
All he could hear from the other alpha after he sighed was, “I knew it.
-I knew it.
