I'm Not Yours, Alpha
I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 25

Dominic drove back with Aidan in the passenger seat. He had been quiet all afternoon, staring out the window. He stirred every few minutes, letting the alpha know that his body ached in the various places where the position put pressure. His body was covered completely, a pair of loose-fitting trousers that came down to his ankles and a long-sleeved turtleneck coat. Even though the temperature was high, he did not want to expose the various evidences that marked his skin.

The alpha was squeezing the helm so hard his knuckles were white and trying to control his pheromones as best he could. He felt tired, very tired. He hadn’t slept or even taken the proper rest his body was supposed to need after 24 hours of intense s*x. But Madox had ordered him to come back that evening. He still remembered their conversation as if it had been only two seconds ago.

-I knew it,” the alpha growled on the other end of the phone, “I knew something like this could happen, and how is he?

Dominic had been slow to respond.

-Not good, his body has marks all over it. I don’t remember anything but I wasn’t gentle at all Madox and what worries me the most is that… -He’s afraid of you- concluded Madox.

-He’s afraid of you,” he finished the sentence.

-Yes, he doesn’t even want me to touch him,” he said touching his head feeling a strong pain, the days without sleep and the worry was taking its toll on him.

-Well, you f*****g a*****e, what do you expect,” despite his insult she heard him sigh, “Don’t worry, he’s your partner now if I’m right that you marked him, give him some time. The very need for the bond will have him at your feet before long.

-But I don’t want things to be like this,” he said almost desperately, “I don’t want him to be by my side just because of the bond, I want him by his own choice.

-You’re in big trouble mate,” Madox snorted, “There’s nothing else to do, you’ll have to work on that on your own, for the moment I want to see how his body is, so get off your arse and bring him back. Both the physique and the mind of an omega is very delicate, and he can go into shock at any moment.

Dominic always followed Madox’s advice, he was the only one he would trust with his life despite all his faults. If he said to take Aidan to him, he would do so.

Night must have started to fall by the time they reached alpha’s house. The omega felt the car pull up in front of the place where he had been living for the last few days and suddenly tensed. He swallowed dryly but did not show his agony on his face. Dominic was taking the suitcases out of the boot and gave them to the receptionist to take them up. He then went to Aidan’s door and opened it. He held out a hand to help him down but seeing the hesitation in Aidan’s eyes he withdrew it.

Aidan climbed down on his own keeping as much distance from Dominic as possible. The mark on his neck hurt every time he wanted to be away from him, but he ignored the pain, not yet ready to face it. The alpha closed the door, and walked past him. Aidan didn’t speak to him, he stood with his head down and clasped his hands, a submissive position that in one way incited his most primal part to jump on top of him but on the other hand held him back, this was not the boy he had met on the first day and was now in love with.

He walked ahead of him and heard him following him slowly with unsteady steps so he slowed his pace. They entered the elevator and she saw him stand at the other end as far away as possible.

-Aidan,” he called out to her and he only made a sound with his throat, “Do you want me to prepare something to eat or do you want me to order it for you,” she asked trying to break the dry atmosphere that surrounded them.

But he didn’t answer her. He didn’t care to eat, he had no appetite. His stomach churned with every surge of pain that he still had even after taking painkillers. There was also a constant throbbing in his chest and spreading down his left arm, disappearing at times but returning.

Dominic sighed and gave up, he had to give it time. He opened the door to his flat and motioned for her to come in after him. Aidan did so hesitantly but stood petrified in the doorway. Even though they hadn’t been in the place for a few days, Dominic’s scent and pheromones were everywhere, the walls, the furniture, the carpet, everything. His body tensed tighter if possible and his breath caught in his throat.

He didn’t want to be there. Memories of the pheromone-infected hotel room came to his mind, the image of Dominic, the green eyes, the bed beneath him, the body imprisoning him, the pain of teeth on his skin, the hard penetrations, the sound of skin tearing under the growing knot. Fear, panic, helplessness, a thousand emotions swirled inside him and his judgement clouded.

Dominic had left the keys on the table and grabbed Aidan’s suitcase to take him to the bedroom when he had a bad feeling and looked alarmed at the door to find… no one. The suitcase fell to the floor with a thud and he stood there. His heart pounding hard against his chest. Aidan wasn’t there. It had only been a few minutes that he hadn’t seen him and he had disappeared.

He felt through his bond that he wasn’t far away so he went out without bothering to close the door and heard the doorbell ring. When she saw the number she realised that the number marked the ground floor. Waiting for him to come upstairs would take too long so he went down the stairs, hopping over the banisters and saving himself several steps. He reached the reception desk and looked alarmed at the man standing there.

He sensed from his tie that he was not far away so he went out without bothering to close the door and heard the bell ring. Looking at the number he realised that the number marked the ground floor. Waiting for him to come upstairs would take too long so he went down the stairs, hopping over the banisters and saving himself several steps. He reached the reception desk and looked alarmed at the man standing there.

-Where is he?

-The man looked at him and pointed to the entrance, “He ran out, he looked terrified.

Dominic cursed and took off after him but stopped not knowing in which direction. He closed his eyes focusing his senses and his sense of smell, but it was as if there was nothing there. There was no scent of him anywhere and he couldn’t sense her through the lasso either. It was as if a barrier stood between them. He gritted his teeth so hard they hurt. Aidan had nowhere to go, as far as he knew and that made him more alert.

Aidan ran so hard his legs felt like they were on fire. He plopped down on one of the benches in one of the many parks around him and breathed heavily. The tears that ran down his cheeks he angrily wiped away. Feeling so unsettled was not like her personality, nor was running away from trouble, but as soon as she had felt the pheromones enveloping her she had panicked.

He took a deep breath and tried to clear his mind. She had to be strong. She couldn’t fall apart. The mark on his neck throbbed and reminded him that he was now bonded to Dominic and from what little he knew they were bound as one. If he ran away every time he came near it would only complicate his life further.

He sighed wearily. Now how could he look him in the face. He, despite having done all that to him even though he was not in his senses was watching over him with the utmost care. He was keeping his distance so that he would feel comfortable. He had also seen what the alpha looked like and he was really affected. It wasn’t easy for him either.

Aidan understood above all that he had been in his heat. He knew that perfectly well, but his body was in such a state that he needed time to assimilate the latest events.

Suddenly

-Aidan heard someone call out to her, a female voice, and his eyes widened as he raised his head, breaking the haze of his thoughts.

-Mother-
