I'm Not Yours, Alpha
I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 36

-Nolan,” his name left his lips in awe. It had been years since they had seen each other.

The alpha smiled and without asking permission sat down in the seat in front of him. He was tall, perhaps not like Dominic or Madox. Well, the latter wasn’t a good example, he was on the cusp so he dismissed it. His hair was brown, trimmed aristocratically and slicked back. His eyes were a honey colour surrounded by thick lashes. Strong jaw, broad shoulders, narrow waist. A fine specimen of alpha that had developed over the last few years they had not seen each other.

Nolan raised his hand and called out to the clerk who asked something Julian didn’t hear, straightening up in the seat. The last time they had shared together was before they broke up. He didn’t remember much of the reason but it had been mainly because he had gone abroad with his father. She didn’t have much memory of those times and she didn’t know the reason. She scratched the back of her head, precisely the place where a huge scar rested that she hid with her long hair, for some reason it burned. That was one of the biggest unknowns of his life. He couldn’t remember ever breaking his head.

-You look beautiful, Julian,” the alpha smiled at him once he leaned back against the table.

-You’ve changed quite a bit, too,” he replied. He was feeling a little unnerved, perhaps because of the encounter.

-What about your life? I can tell by the smell of you that you’re not bonded, but it seems to me that you are in a relationship.

Julian became defensive. It was kind of rude to specifically tell someone that after years of not seeing each other, but Nolan was like that, too direct, one of the few reasons they argued. They had been a fairly stable couple for how long? Why the memories of those days were so fuzzy.

-I’m doing pretty well,” the omega replied, “I work as a stylist and although I’m not in a relationship I’m in a relationship with someone,” he went straight to the gram. If that alpha hadn’t changed as he imagined then he might be a little difficult to deal with.

He wasn’t saying he was bad. He had been an excellent boyfriend. He cared for him, pampered him and although he hadn’t marked him on the grounds that he would give him time they were always on good terms. Or so she remembered.

-I’m happy for you, but it’s rare to see an unattached omega at your age, gorgeous,” Nolan smiled at the shop assistant who brought them each a cup of iced tea and a plate full of sweet snacks.

-I’m a busy young woman,” Julian bowed his head, “And what about you?

Nolan licked a finger full of cream somewhat vulgarly and provocatively.

-Well, I inherited my father’s entire company, I’ve got money to spare, and I’m single right now. Not much to add.

-Julian took a sip of tea as his hands froze, and not because of the temperature of the glass.

He felt Nolan’s pheromones enveloping him in a possessive way, just as Madox did when he left his house in a less violent way.

-Could you stop doing that,” he asked her with a bead of sweat on his temple. He was aware of how weak he was and how strong the alpha was in front of him.

-I’m not doing anything precious, it’s not like you haven’t felt it before,” Nolan suppressed his pheromones and smiled leaning back in his chair, “Let’s just say it was part of habit.

-We haven’t been anything for years, Nolan,” he set his drink down on the table.

-And it was a real shame, we made a beautiful but insistent couple to break up when I asked you to come with me to a new country. You’ve always been a bit stubborn.

-He touched his scar again, thinking he was skipping something he hadn’t quite visualized.

Nolan leaned down and grabbed her hand, pulling her to him.

-Julian,” he said against her fingers, “You were always important to me. This meeting was no accident, I came looking for you as soon as I knew where you were, I want you to be my omega again,” she kissed one of his fingers and prodded it with one of her fangs.

Julian winced slightly and tried to pull his hand away but it was gripped tightly. It didn’t feel good. It wasn’t nice to be there.

-Don’t fight me. I can make you come into heat right here, make you melt from my pheromones until you’re drunk on them. That’s how I want you Julian. You don’t know how much I’ve missed you all these years,” the alpha’s eyes had grown brighter, “That day we broke up was the worst day of my life. I want you to be the omega that gives my pups to me, that shares my bed with me every night.

Julian swallowed dryly. Again the pheromones swirled around him and made his thighs tremble. That natural omega reaction of submission to alphas was something he’d always detested.

-Stop,” he gasped, “Stop, STOP,” he shouted, alarming those around him.

Nolan let go of her hand slowly watching as he breathed heavily with his hair covering his expression.

-I’m sorry, honey. I think I got a little carried away. I hadn’t seen you in a long time and I got a little too excited. But every word I said was true,” he stood up, leaving the money for the order on the table and leaning over her ear, “Don’t worry, I’ll look for you again and hopefully I’ll have a satisfactory answer.

His whole body froze and he only breathed again when he no longer felt the alpha’s pheromones near him. His hands were so tightly clenched that he had dug his nails into his palms, leaving little traces of b***d that were beginning to hurt. He was shaking too, so much so that he wasn’t sure he would be able to walk steady for at least a few minutes. There was still that feeling over him that told him to submit to this alpha.

-Excuse me, sir. I think I overdid it a little. I haven’t seen you for a long time and I got too excited. But all the fights I said were true- he stood up leaving the money for the order on the table and leaning over her ear -Don’t worry, I’ll look for you again and I hope I’ll have a satisfactory answer-.

His whole body froze and he only breathed again when he no longer felt the elf’s pheromones near him. At the least, he felt the nails on his skin had become red, leaving small traces of b***d that began to ache. He was also trembling, which meant that he was not sure he would be able to burn for at least a few minutes. He still had the same feeling about him that told him to submit to the same thing.

He took his phone in his trembling hands and opened the contacts. He needed to talk to someone. He didn’t want to be like this. He felt disoriented, lost, even the old scar throbbed in his head uncomfortably. He had a facility for finding trouble with alphas like no omega. Maybe because he was weak. He didn’t even know anymore. In the end he ended up putting the mobile phone away, talking wouldn’t help either.

Madox closed his notebook to open a file, the rest of his lab mates had left him alone so as not to put up with his bad face and the work pressure they caused him. It wasn’t a problem for him, he was more than enough to finish all his cases. Even so, the image he had seen from the window of his car on his way to work kept replaying over and over again in his head. That alpha holding Julian’s hand so intimately it was disgusting.

He grunted for I don’t know what time and shook his hair out.

Someone knocked on the door and he turned in annoyance.

-What do you want?

A beta slowly peeked out, avoiding his gaze.

-Dr. Madox, there’s someone here to see you,” he said.

-Who could come to see me,” he snorted.

-Well, it’s a nice omega,” he said sheepishly.

Some desperate patient. Madox thought and motioned for him to let him in. Although he didn’t imagine he was, he was a desperate omega, but not that it was Julian.

-My little bird,” he looked surprised, and that was a difficult thing to say.

He couldn’t say much more as the omega dropped the bag on the ground and walked over to him sitting on his thighs. Her nose quickly buried itself in his neck gland sucking in his scent hard, or at least she tried to.

Madox sat still for the first few seconds until he reacted. The omega in his lap trembled markedly. The palm of his hands stained the edges of his white dressing gown with small traces of carmine liquid, and he smelled his neck as if it would disappear at any moment. Any discomfort he had before suddenly disappeared and only concern remained.

-What is it?

He didn’t answer her. He pressed closer to his body in desperation as if he wanted to get something off of him and Madox knew what it was.

The scent of another alpha.
