I'm Not Yours, Alpha
I’m Not Yours, Alpha – Chapter 80

Madox’s face, unlike what Julian expected, was one of doubt and then he became thoughtful.

-Omega?” he bowed his head and his hair fell to one side.

-The same Omega who pushed me down the stairs. Are you going to deny that you had nothing with her? You even talked when you caught me- Julian wiped his tears letting an uncomfortable feeling fill him.

-Ohhh, that crazy woman,” he said, “Well, no, nothing happened with her. I admit I let her approach me, but I told her I was engaged and would be a father-to-be that I don’t like women who open their legs to anyone anymore. If you saw the look on his face. It feels strange to reject a woman after all, but it didn’t feel bad- she smiled at him.

On the other hand, Julian’s face was extremely serious.

-Little bird, don’t look at me like that. Do you think I would cheat on you? I’ve never lied to you before. Not once. I wouldn’t be with anyone now and even less now that you’re expecting my puppies. Don’t you trust me?

Julian slowly shook his head.

-I’m sorry Madox but I can’t live with this uncertainty forever. For us omegas to give ourselves to an alpha means putting a collar around our necks and condemning ourselves. Alphas can break the bond, sleep with other people and the one who pays for the suffering is the omega. You may say no now, but I don’t know tomorrow how things will be. You’ve been one way for a long time, can you just let go of all that completely?

Madox’s face became serious. Julian was spot on. He had become a person who loved casual s*x without commitment. He had never been in a serious relationship that demanded everything from him.

-Then teach me, Julian,” she asked, “Teach me to be someone who only needs one person to be happy. Let’s start from zero, the two of us. Let’s forget our past once and for all and start with our daughters. Let’s learn from our mistakes and become strong together-

The omega’s lips opened and then closed. He was asking her to abandon everything and start over. That would be nice, but he wondered if they would be able to. They had been through so much and that past was what had them both tied together.

He hesitated. This Madox spoke completely different than the one he knew, even looked different. And if it was true that he had rejected that omega, did he have a fever? He opened his mouth again when the alpha’s cell phone rang.

Madox grunted and pulled it out of his pocket.

-Bad time to call, director,” he answered, getting up from the bed.

Julian watched him for a while as he conversed not very harmoniously on the cell phone and his muscles tensed. Apparently it was no good. The alpha was getting annoyed. He ran his hand over her tummy and waited. Just thinking.

-Shit,” Madox shouted as he hung up.

-What happened?” he didn’t look up.

-I have to get back urgently. Three of my patients came into the hospital in serious condition and they don’t know how to stabilize them because they are on special hormone treatments. In that damned hospital they always depend on others,” he grunted, dropping onto the bed and clutching his head in his hands.

-When do you have to come back,” his voice was calm.

Madox straightened up.

-Today, they’ve already sent a private jet to pick me up and it’ll be here in an hour.

Julian’s hands stopped from massaging her tummy.

-When you leave…don’t come back,” his voice was only a whisper.

Madox sat up with a start.

-Do you really want me out of your life? Didn’t you hear everything I told you? I’m willing to throw it all away for you Julian. Why don’t you just give us a chance. If not for you, then at least for our daughters, but don’t tell me not to come back.

-Sir,” a nurse came into the room at the sound of the alpha’s ruckus, “If you don’t keep your voice down, you’re going to have to leave. You can’t upset the patients.

Madox clicked his tongue.

-There’s no need to take me out. I’m going- and he turned around but stopped before he left- But don’t think Julian that you’ll get away from me so easily. I’ll be back as soon as I’m done. I have no intention of my daughters not having their father and my omega raising them alone.

And he went out.

The nurse walked over to Julian who was pale and tapped him on the shoulder.

-She said, “Is he all right?” but Julian burst into a loud cry. A cry that could be heard throughout the hallway.

By the time Irene arrived to look for her nephew she found him with all red eyes and a lost look.

-Aunt, what should I do,” she heard him stammer.

The woman sat down next to Julian and touched his face.

-You know. This afternoon I found out everything that had really happened with the alpha who came looking for you. He…

He told him the whole story heard from witnesses of the scandalous scene that had occurred that night and the rejection of the most sought after omega in the area.

-Julian, what do you want to do?

The omega looked at her and pressed his lips together.

-I don’t know aunt. My mind tells me that if I go with him I may suffer again. I don’t want to suffer again, I already suffered for many years in that house with the person I thought would bring me happiness.

-And what does your heart tell you,” she put her hand on his chest.

Julian blinked slowly.

-That I shouldn’t let him go, Aunt. I really loved him and I still do. He’s the father of my daughters.

Irene took a deep breath.

-Let’s face it, let’s be realistic. The guy is a bastard, but he has his negative parts like everyone else and his positive ones. I don’t like him very much but he’s not my life. Who are you going to listen to? Your mind or your heart?

A question Julian had to answer and he had a limited time to answer it.

Madox was in a very bad mood. His pheromones were making people stay away from him. And with good reason. He was happy that he had found Julian but very disappointed in himself for not managing to bring her with him.

He ran his hand over his face. He cursed everything and especially his director and job. He was sure that with a little more time he could have convinced Julian, but no. Everything was getting in his way.

-Mr. Madox, you are wanted at gate 3.

The alpha heard his name called to board the jet that had arrived. Sighing and exhausted he got up and grabbed his suitcase and walked to the gate, but stopped at the boundary line. If he crossed that line it meant he was giving up somehow. Julian might escape if he gave it up now. On the other hand, there was his job, in which he had invested almost his entire life.

Which was more important?

To that there was only one answer.

He pulled out his cell phone and dialed a number. The person he contacted was not as good as he was but would know how to treat his patients. Now his private life was more important than anything else. If his career was destroyed he could start over next to his new family. Of that he was sure.

And hanging up after convincing that person he turned to walk towards where his future lay but he didn’t need to take a step. A few feet away from him was the petite, red-haired figure he wanted to see so badly. And beside him a small suitcase.
