It's Love That Blinds Him
It’s Love That Blinds Him – Chapter 207

In the Evans group, Malcolm’s fingers still tapped regularly on the desk. He played with the phone in his hand for a long time, but his eyes were fixed on the office door. Finally, the door opened slowly and Bob respectfully appeared in the office. Looking at Bob, Malcolm waited for him to speak first.

“Mr. Evans, Mrs. Evans hasn’t arrived at the company yet,” Bob said respectfully.

“You can go out now,” Malcolm frowned slightly and said indifferently.

Bob left the office quickly. Malcolm looked at the countless phone calls that had been made but not answered. Where would Lucia go? After a moment of silence, Malcolm grabbed the car key from the desk, told Bob, and left the company. He drove straight towards the villa Lucia stayed at.

Was she resting? Or was she trying to avoid him? Along the way, all kinds of thoughts were rushing through his mind. Unconsciously, he stopped the car outside the villa community. He looked at the direction of the villa and thought for a while. Finally, he got out of the car and locked the door. When he was about to walk to the villa, he heard a very familiar soft voice.

“Sir…I’m very pleased to meet you. Are you here for Kathy?” Kathy said in a soft voice as she ran into his arms intimately.

Kathy always had an inexplicable feeling of intimacy with Malcolm, which was different from her feeling towards Tandy. It was not an emotion that had built up over time, but an innate feeling. Although Kathy had never seen Malcolm before, she could clearly sense the same aura from him. She knew he would never hurt her. It was a child’s instinct.

Knocked over by Kathy, Malcolm stopped in his tracks. He lifted Kathy up so she could look at him at the same level. He looked at her with a little doubt in his eyes. If he hadn’t made a mistake, this little girl should have left the villa community. Did she also live here?

“Do you live inside?” Why didn’t you go to school today?” Malcolm asked softly. The gentleness and patience in his words far exceeded his own imagination. “Yes,

Kathy lives inside.” Kathy smiled and narrowed his eyes into crescent moons.

She avoided the problems Malcolm would pose next. Lucia always believed that children should be independent, so she did not want her children to be equipped with a driver or a special car. Therefore, after returning to his native country, the two children went to school by school bus. Although Lowe did not skip a grade, Lucia sometimes allowed him to receive primary education in advance. Today, Lowe didn’t have classes at the same school as Kathy does today. Kathy got on the school bus in front of Leila. But when the children were in chaos, she escaped.

Today she was going to start her adventure in this strange city. Unexpectedly, she met the handsome man again at the gate of the villa community. With her bright eyes wide open, Kathy looked straight into Malcolm’s eyes. It seemed like she wanted to say whether he was an enemy or a friend and whether he would send her home in the next second.

“Hmm? What’s wrong?” Malcolm asked in a low voice, noticing her inquisitive look.

“Sir, will you send Kathy home?” With a sweet smile, Kathy put her arms around his neck and looked up at him.

“Your mother will worry about you if you’re out there.” Malcolm frowned slightly and looked at Kathy, pretending to be displeased.

“No… Mom won’t be worried. Ha ha… She thinks I went to school. Sir, can you take Kathy to explore this town? I want to go to the botanical garden.” With a mischievous smile, she asserted her request.

Malcolm raised his eyebrows in surprise. He had just met her for the second time. How could a little girl who didn’t know him yet make such a bold request? Wasn’t she afraid of being taken away by a stranger? Was it because she was overconfident or because she underestimated the wickedness of society?

“Sir…I loved you at first sight. So you must not be a bad guy,” Kathy said with a gentle smile, as if she could see through Malcolm’s mind.

Malcolm said nothing more. After taking a look at the villa, he suddenly walked towards the car next door with Kathy in his arms. He finally accepted her request. At least before today, he never thought he would play with a child like that. He would never kidnap a girl without her parents’ permission. But he obviously liked the mixed-b***d girl who had made a very deep impression on him when they first met.

Kathy got into the car excitedly and spontaneously fastened the seat belt. She looked at Malcolm expectantly with her blue eyes. Malcolm chuckled. Her beautiful dimples were on display. He gently rubbed Kathy’s hair, started the engine, and drove towards the botanical garden.

“Oh…Sir, you also have such a cat. Can I have a look?” Kathy asked curiously as she was drawn to the white crystal cat in the front of the car.

Malcolm raised his eyebrows in confusion. He nodded and didn’t stop her. Kathy put the cat in her hand and studied it carefully. She was even more confused. Then she carefully returned the cat to its original position, pouted, held its chin with her hands and looked at the white cat again. Looking at the strange behavior of her, Malcolm didn’t ask anything.

“My mom has a cat that looks a lot like this. She always has him with her,” Kathy said.

Malcolm looked at her sharply, but soon smiled self-deprecatingly. Although the pair of crystal cats were expensive, they were not unique in the world. At most, they were Dream’s limited edition products at the time. One of the parents of the mixed-race girl in front of him must have been Western, so it was no surprise that her mother was able to buy the cat. Some people had a unique preference for crystal glass. Additionally, those who could afford to live in the villa community were expected to have a certain wealth and status.

After a half-hour drive, they arrived at the botanical garden in the suburb. Seeing the botanical garden ahead, Kathy excitedly unbuckled the seat belt. When the car stopped, she quickly jumped out of the car and ran towards the entrance excitedly. Shaking his head, Malcolm got out of the car as well and quickly caught up with her. He put on his sunglasses to avoid unnecessary trouble. After purchasing the tickets, he took Kathy to the botanical garden.

As it wasn’t the weekend, there weren’t many people in the botanical garden. He was walking behind Kathy, who was running like crazy. He kept an eye on the surroundings and didn’t let her out of his sight. Both attracted the attention of many passers-by in the botanical garden.

Malcolm was a handsome man, while Kathy was a sweet mixed-b***d girl. Such a combination was enough to make everyone present imaginative. It seemed Malcolm didn’t mind the strange looks at all. He just followed Kathy. It seemed that Kathy was tired. She ran towards Malcolm. In his arms, she no longer moved.

“Are you tired? Do you want some water?” Malcolm asked worriedly, taking over from Kathy’s small figure.

“Yes… Handsome sir, you are Kathy’s savior now… I’m exhausted.” She would never forget to say sweet words.

After picking up Kathy, who was already out of breath, Malcolm went to a nearby snack bar and bought his favorite ice cream and water. After paying the bill, he took her to a bench to rest. When he saw her eating the ice cream contentedly, there was a slight satisfaction in his eyes. If he and Lucia had such a child, would their relationship be much improved? Malcolm’s eyes darkened. An idea came to his mind.

“Handsome sir…Kathy wants to share my favorite ice cream with you,” Kathy suddenly raised the ice cream in her hand to Malcolm and said in a gentle tone.

When Malcolm looked at the mirror in front of him, an almost invisible trace of embarrassment appeared on his face. After hesitating for a while, he lowered his head and took a bite of ice cream in his hand. She smiled, took the ice cream again and continued eating. On the other hand, Malcolm looked at her indifferently and waited patiently.

“Do you want to go somewhere else?” Malcolm asked Kathy, who had already finished eating the ice cream.

“No. I have to go home. Otherwise I’ll be scolded by Lowell. Mom will be worried too.” Kathy refused Malcolm’s suggestion.

Malcolm nodded knowingly and walked out of the botanical garden with Kathy in his arms. Suddenly he turned around, but saw no one suspicious. He frowned slightly. When his eyes met Kathy’s confused eyes, he put on a slight smile and continued walking to the parking spot.

“Handsome sir, can I call you when I miss you?” Kathy asked, pouting.

“Of course,” Malcolm replied simply.

Kathy’s eyes lit up with excitement. Looking at the excited Kathy, he shook his head. He didn’t know why he agreed to stay with her in the botanical garden, a place he would never enter in his life, for the entire afternoon. Looking at his phone, which was still silent, his eyes couldn’t help but darken.

After getting in the car and settling Kathy in, he started the engine and drove towards the villa community. Kathy had been running so wildly earlier that she felt tired. After a while, she fell asleep in the car. Glancing at the sleeping Kathy, Malcolm gently covered her with his suit jacket, adjusted the temperature of the air conditioner, and focused on driving.

At this moment, Lucia who was sleeping quietly was in sharp contrast to the extremely nervous and worried Lucia in the villa. The house was in disarray due to Kathy’s unexpected disappearance.
