It's Love That Blinds Him
It’s Love That Blinds Him – Chapter 7

“I actually wanted to tell you that I’m ready to marry you.” Malcolm finished his words after a short moment.

“What? You must be crazy! Do you even know me? Do you know what family I come from? Do you know what I do? How can you agree to marry me so easily?” said Lucie, bursting into laughter.

Since she was drunk, she wasn’t in her right mind.

On the other hand, the man in front of her hadn’t been drinking at all; he was sober. He didn’t smell of alcohol or cigarettes, which men are known to consume. He just smelled like a fresh wave of seawater. It was obvious that he was sober and lucid. “Why is he laughing at me?”

“You don’t have to put up with all this. But if you wish to know, I can tell you about my life. But that would be as disgusting as soap operas.” Lucia stopped laughing. “Well, do you have any water here? I’ve had too much to drink, and I’m thirsty now.” Then she raised her head and looked Malcolm in the eye.

Suddenly, he carried her in his arms, which made Lucia scream. Gently, he laid her on the living room sofa as if she were very fragile and in danger of breaking easily.

While Lucia was still stunned, he leaned over and kissed her forehead before heading for the fridge. He then took out a bottle of cold water, unscrewed the lid and handed it to her. Taking a seat with her on the sofa, he drew her into his arms.

And Lucia was unable to resist him. Malcolm’s embrace was warm. She felt safe and at peace. She’d been searching for a long time for someone who would make her feel like she belonged with him, and at this moment, she finally felt like she’d found that person.

“I’m pretty boring, you know? At the age of five, my parents had abandoned me outside an orphanage. And it was the director of the orphanage who took me in. By the time I got to university, I was self-employed and earning my own money. When I was at the orphanage, a lot of people wanted to adopt me, but my mischievous nature discouraged them. Having already been abandoned by my parents, I was afraid of being left alone again. So I preferred being alone to being adopted.” Although Lucia was talking about her past, she was very relaxed, and sounded like she was talking about someone else’s life.

Malcolm didn’t interrupt and listened in silence. After all, he already knew all these things from the document Bob had given him that very afternoon. He held her tightly, wrapping his arm around her waist.

“And now, here’s the most disgusting part of the story…,” Lucia said with a smile that seemed to mock herself. –

“After I was admitted to university, I left the orphanage, got a part-time job, rented an apartment and started a new life. In general, students are very enthusiastic and expect a lot from their future. They have dreams and goals. When I was a freshman in college, I wanted to sign up for an exchange program at a university abroad. However, things didn’t work out the way I’d planned.”

She paused briefly, wondering how to continue.

“During the second semester of my freshman year, I met Jonah at a community event. The latter is the man you met at the bar today. At first, it wasn’t that important to me. We spent a lot of time together because of community activities. He only has his mother with him; he doesn’t have a father. Maybe it was our similar lives that brought us together. At the end of the first year, there was a dance. That’s when he confessed his love for me and we started dating. Our love was very romantic. He often surprised me with the smallest things, and we shared a lot of good times together. I can’t deny the fact that we were very happy and so much in love for the first two years of our relationship.”

Thinking about her past, Lucia was lost in thought. On cold winter days, Jonah would make her hot water with brown sugar to soothe her menstrual cramps. On her birthday, he had made her happy by telling her how much he loved her under the fireworks-lit night sky. Every day after school, he prepared delicious meals for her, which they enjoyed together in the woods behind the school. She has many fond memories of him.

“What’s the matter?” asked Malcolm when he realized she was in a daze. He gently raised his hand and stroked her cheek.

“Oh, nothing. I was probably thinking too much about the past… Well, allow me to continue the story.” Lucia finally came back to reality and continued, “Those days of tender love lasted two whole years. Then came the last year of university. I was preparing for graduation, working in an internship program and writing my thesis. I had high hopes for the future. I had big dreams, and I was ambitious. It was because of Jonah that I gave up my dream of pursuing my career abroad. In the beginning, we phoned each other several times a day. As time went by, we phoned once a day, then once every two days, and gradually we switched to once a week. Sometimes we didn’t even talk, until I realized we hadn’t spoken in a very long time. During our calls, we just talked about normal things. And after saying just a few words, we’d hang up. Our conversations were very basic, there was no romance in them.”

After this sentence, Lucia picked up the bottle and took a sip of water.

“I managed to find a good job in the second semester of my last year of university. It was a job at DZ Media, the company I currently work for. Although DZ Media was a start-up at the time, I liked the working environment and the company culture. I accepted the job, even though it wasn’t easy. It was my boss who made me want to do it. He told me I could do whatever I wanted as long as I really wanted to.”

Suddenly, Lucia fell silent. She didn’t know how to continue the story, because what happened after that was the last thing she wanted to think about. Jonah’s betrayal had left a scar in her heart that could never be erased. That pain had left her numb for so long.

“It was because I was so busy with my job that… I guess you don’t know the pressure of having to get up every morning, and take the subway to work at rush hour. There were so many people that you could easily get run over by them. As I was new to the job, I had to learn a lot, and I hardly had any time for myself. One day, I realized that I didn’t have time to meet the man I loved. We only saw each other once a month, and sometimes it was once every two months. And we rarely spoke on the phone. Maybe I’d been heartless and insensitive. By the time I realized something was wrong, it was already too late.”

Lucia smiled again, laughing at herself.

“It had already been two years since I entered the world of work, and the day was Christmas. I’d just finished working on a project when I remembered that I hadn’t spent time with him or celebrated a holiday with him in a long time, so I went to the store, bought a cake and a new set of lingerie.”

As soon as she said those words, Lucia noticed there was a hint of anger in Malcolm’s eyes, but it quickly dissipated.

“Since I had the key to his apartment, I simply opened the door and walked in. It was just like a TV show. There was underwear on the floor, a very sexy one in lace. I don’t know if it was because I was walking quietly, or if they were too absorbed in the moment, but when I entered the bedroom, they were still making love. I pushed open the door. They both stared at me, shocked. I was the one with the right to be angry, wasn’t I? But it was Mina who lost her temper, while Jonah stood aside, watching us in silence.”

That day had been the cruelest and most painful of Lucia’s life. Mina had risen from the bed, wrapped the blanket over her naked body and cursed. Only then had Lucia learned that Mina and Jonah had been together for almost two years. She had lived in darkness for two years. She felt like the other woman. While Mina had cursed her and screamed hysterically, Jonah had pretended not to know her at all.

Lucia then realized that Mina was the daughter of the CEO of Gomez Properties, the company Jonah had worked for after graduation. He had met Mina at the orientation event. Their busy final year of university had already made him a little indifferent towards Lucia. And Mina’s appearance had put an end to his seemingly endless vanity. Jonah was a poor man who had nothing, but he managed to attract a pretty woman.

He’d hidden from Mina that he had a girlfriend, and he’d also felt guilty about cheating on Lucia, but that guilt had quickly disappeared in the face of his l**t for money, power and status. Jonah had become so cold towards her and had forgotten that he already had a girlfriend who loved him. Before long, he began dating Mina in public.

Lucia only discovered the truth when she entered his apartment on Christmas Day.

While Mina was in an uproar, Lucia had just stood there in shock. Jonah had taken Mina’s side at the time. He’d even told Lucia that he’d lost his feelings for her and hadn’t loved her for a long time. Since they hadn’t been in touch for a long time, it was a clear sign that they’d broken up. He had even asked Lucia why she was pretending to be reluctant to leave him.

That’s why Mina always thought Lucia was the one clinging to Jonah. Since she came from a reputable family, she was convinced that no man would leave a rich woman like her for Lucia, an orphan.

Mina was pampered because of her status. From that day on, she made fun of Lucia every time she saw her. Jonah’s silence and Lucia’s indifference only strengthened Mina’s contempt for her.

Lucia’s relationship with Jonah had lasted several years before ending like this. However, Lucia hadn’t allowed herself to shed any tears over her broken relationship and had left the apartment without a word of goodbye.

And since then, their relationship has come to an end.

“So, the long and disgusting story of my life is over, what does my interlocutor think?” Lucia felt quite relaxed and was even in the mood to tease Malcolm after telling him her story.

A sudden trace of coldness crossed the latter’s eyes. He wrapped one hand around her waist, supporting her head with the other, and pulled her into a deep, passionate k**s.

Lucia’s eyes were wide open, and she was apparently confused. Taking advantage of the moment, Malcolm used his tongue to find hers. Lucia struggled for a moment before resigning herself. After all, there was nothing in her body to resist him. She wrapped her arms around Malcolm’s neck and kissed him fiercely.

“I desire you,” Malcolm whispered in her ear when her lips finally left his.

He was a little surprised that a woman, with whom he’d only made love once, could make him want her so much. He was like an adolescent with her, so impulsive and full of desire. Malcolm wished he could rub himself against her skin and make love to her right now.

“What if I took the initiative?” asked Lucia with a charming little smile. –

While Malcolm was still daydreaming about what she’d just told him, she pushed him onto the sofa and sat on him, her hands caressing every inch of his skin. She slowly unbuttoned his shirt and pulled it out of his pants. She then moved her hands to his belt, unbuckled it and released his already erect p***s. She held it gently in one hand while she kissed his forehead, eyebrows, eyes and slowly his lips, without even stopping for a moment.

Malcolm wanted to be the master on board, but he couldn’t because Lucia was pressing him onto the sofa. He was so excited he felt as if his boiling b***d was about to burst his e******n. With a low growl, he pulled her up with his strong arms. He then quickly slid out from under her and got on top of her. Lucia was now so wet that he didn’t waste a moment before inserting his c**k into her v****a.

Lucia gave in to his rough, passionate movements. She was completely lost in his body. She emitted seductive m***s and begged for more. It was as if the heat emanating from their bodies would scorch everything around them.

She was so eager to be filled as she climaxed. Soon after Malcolm finished, she began seducing him again, and didn’t rest until her body was completely sore. She’d never dared to think she could get so turned on. It was as if she was releasing all the desire she’d repressed for so many years.
