It’s Love That Blinds Him – Chapter 97
Lucia seemed to have changed her fashion style these days from casual to slightly formal clothing. She also started using makeup that she hadn’t touched in a long time. His bare face lit up in an instant. The earthy tone made Lucia appear to be in a good mood and made others around her feel warm.
Lucia couldn’t help but smile as she looked at her reflection in the mirror. She hadn’t been in this good of a mood to get dressed in a long time since she left Malcolm’s apartment.
“Lucia, you go out every day, but why are you so different today? Kathryn teased, looking at the well-dressed Lucia.
“Don’t talk nonsense,” Lucia said bitterly, patting Kathryn on the head.
“Why? Did I say something wrong? This mysterious man comes looking for you every time you go out. If it’s not a date, then what is it? And by the way , when are you going to introduce it to me?” Catherine’s voice was full of curiosity and her eyes blinked expectantly.
“I will when I get the chance,” Lucia said helplessly. She also looked at Catherine and smiled.
“Okay. What event are you going to attend today? It seems like you’re really taking it seriously,” Kathryn said. She didn’t want to give up.
“I’m going to meet some of my colleagues today. It will be the first time I see them. I can’t be in my pajamas, can I?” Lucia couldn’t help but shake her head as she told Catherine about her activity of the day.
“Oh I see. Then you probably need to leave now. Otherwise, you’re going to be late. I guess that mysterious man is already waiting for you at the gates. Enjoy your date! It’s okay if you don’t Don’t come back.” After saying this, Kathryn ran away laughing.
Lucia picked up her purse and pretended to throw it at him. Kathryn made a face and ran upstairs. Watching her run away, Lucia smiled, shook her head and walked out of the villa.
As expected, Lowell’s car was already waiting not far from the gates. With a smile, Lucia walked towards the car. Then she opened the door and entered. Lowell handed him a cup of hot beverage before starting the engine and driving away.
When Catherine came back down, Lucia had already left. But the familiar ringtone of Lucia’s phone echoed throughout the living room. She curiously walked over to where the ringtone was coming from and found Lucia’s phone on the couch. Lucia must have dropped it there accidentally, and she didn’t notice.
Kathryn picked up the phone and watched the caller’s name flash on the screen. “Malcolm?” It’s Malcolm calling, she thought. She felt the need to answer it. But after thinking for a moment, she put him back on the sofa. The ringing continued for a while until it finally stopped.
Kathryn looked at the phone and thought about the mysterious man who had just looked for Lucia. She didn’t quite understand the situation. “Is Lucia still in contact with Malcolm? So who is this man still waiting for her outside? And why does he insist that Lucia live here? Many questions overwhelmed Catherine’s mind. But in the end, she gave up thinking about them and plopped down on the couch. She rejected these complicated thoughts.
Malcolm looked at his phone with a frown. He thought deeply, wondering why Lucia hadn’t answered his call. The last time he called her, her phone was off. This time it rang, but no one answered.
‘Wildcat, are you hiding from me? Or… A hint of uncertainty flashed in his eyes, but he quickly calmed down. He turned on the screen and made a video call to Kaleb.
“Sir…” Kaleb greeted him respectfully.
“What has she been doing lately?” Malcolm asked.
“She’s either in the villa or in the malls,” Kaleb reported earnestly.
“Is there anyone around her?” Malcolm asked again after a while.
“Sir, we can only tell which vehicle she is in by the trajectory and speed of the red dot. Other than that, it’s difficult for us to tell unless we have someone to keep track. eye on her,” Kaleb said.
“Okay, forget it. There’s no need,” Malcolm said coldly.
“OK sir.” Of course, Kaleb wouldn’t refute.
Malcolm turned off the screen, got up and walked towards the window. The scene outside was still solemn. He looked down and his long eyelashes covered his deep eyes.
“Wildcat, run as much as you want for now. But when I come back, you will have to return to my arms.
Lucia was on her way to Rose Garden.
She was sure that at least two of her three colleagues were strangers, so they all decided to meet at Rose Garden for afternoon tea. After all, this place served the most authentic English afternoon tea.
As soon as Lowell pulled up to the restaurant, Lucia got out of the car and ran inside. The cold wind blew, making her shiver unconsciously. She really hated winter. Fortunately, the warm air enveloped her when she entered. Lucia sighed deeply. It was life.
She reached into her bag for her phone because she needed to confirm where everyone was now. However, she couldn’t find her phone. ‘Thin! Maybe my phone slipped out of my bag when I picked it up and pretended to throw it to Catherine. My phone must be left at home. What should I do now?’ Lucia patted his forehead helplessly. She had never met her colleagues, so how was she going to identify them?
Could she ask them one by one and introduce herself to them? People would think she was crazy and she might be thrown out. She suddenly had no idea what to do.
“Lucie…” Lowell’s voice sounded behind her.
‘Oh my God! My saviour.’
Hearing Lowell’s voice, Lucia quickly turned around and walked towards him. Then she asked him to lend her his phone. Even though he was confused, he took it out of his pocket and gave it to her. Lucia opened the chat app and logged in, looked up their phone numbers and saved them in Lowell’s phone.
“Did you forget to bring your phone?” Lowell asked with a smile when he finally realized what was happening.
“Yes. Don’t make fun of me. By the way, why are you still here?” Lucia was curious as to why Lowell had also entered the restaurant.
“You left your scarf in the car. You’ll be cold when you leave later,” Lowell said softly and handed her the scarf.
“Thank you. It’s nice to have you by my side, Lowell,” Lucia said gratefully, taking the scarf from him.
“Are you still this scatterbrained?” Are you sure you’re really an adult?” Lowell teased.
“F**k off! I need to call them first.” Lucia rolled her eyes and turned away from him.
She dialed a number and waited for the call to connect. She was about to lose her patience when someone finally answered. While speaking, Lucia looked around and a blonde man with blue eyes stood up from his seat and waved at her. She also waved, implying that it was her. Then she handed the phone back to Lowell, put the scarf in her bag and walked straight toward the man.
Watching Lucia walk forward quickly, Lowell shook his head slightly. He looked at the number she had dialed, put his phone back in his pocket and left the restaurant.
As soon as Lucia approached the table, she saw that two men were sitting there. She recognized each of them by touch. She wasn’t sure if it was because they had been chatting online or because they had been working together for a while now, but the strangeness she felt disappeared in an instant. There must have been four, so obviously one person hadn’t arrived yet. Lucia looked at the two people in front of her in confusion.
Soon, one of the two men named Joy picked up her phone. After a moment he got up. Lucia also turned around and saw a man walking towards them. His eyes widened in disbelief.
“Lloyd, why are you here?” asked Lucy.
She never imagined that he was also an independent planner who took tasks from Era Global Planning. “Don’t he need to run DZ Media?” » Many questions invaded Lucia’s mind. She couldn’t understand it, so she looked very confused.
“Do you know each other?” Joy was obviously a little surprised.
“Yes. We’ve worked together before. But I didn’t expect to work with him again this time,” Lucia responded directly.
“Long time no see, Lucia. I told you, we’ll work together again sooner or later. It’s just that I didn’t expect this to happen here. In fact, when I saw your name on the list of team members for this planning case, I wondered if it was you. But your name is too common, so I wasn’t sure. Now that you’re here, then it’s really you.” Lloyd was visibly excited.
“Yeah Yeah. Even a guy like you takes jobs like this. How do you expect others like me to live?” Lucia said angrily.
“Well, the challenges aren’t easy for someone in my position. Over time, I will become unfamiliar with planning and only know marketing,” Lloyd explained simply.
Lucia nodded to show him that she understood. She became increasingly convinced that Lloyd’s success was not a coincidence but an inevitable development. Now that they had finally met, they started talking about other things. None of them were boring enough to talk about work at a social gathering.
People with similar interests always talked a lot, not to mention old acquaintances. But Lucia sometimes wondered if the people who were all planning liked alcohol. It seemed like they would always end up at a bar. Looking at the people in front of her, she was a little stunned.
She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Over time, they spoke in the language of their country. As a result, Lucia didn’t understand at all what they were talking about. She could only see that all the bottles on the table were already empty.
“Lucia, did you lose your ability to drink after getting married? Come on, let’s drink more!” Lloyd, who was a little drunk now, stopped Lucia and gave her a bottle of beer.
Joy and Beeny raised their bottles and toasted Lucia. Then they started drinking from the bottle. Lucia shook her head, brought the bottle to her mouth and drank it.
They were all a little drunk after a few rounds.
This drinking culture was a bit of a culture shock for Joy and Beeny. It was the first time they had experienced being drunk like this. On the other hand, Lloyd was an old drunk. Although he was a little drunk, he at least knew how to walk straight. Lucia looked at herself and realized she wasn’t much better. She reeked of alcohol. And when she got up, she felt dizzy.
Joy’s phone suddenly rang. He answered it in a daze but soon handed it to Lucia. She looked strangely at the phone in front of her before answering.
“Lucia, are you okay? Lowell’s voice came from the other end of the line.
“Lowell?” Where did you get Joy’s number? Sorry, I don’t have my phone with me, so I couldn’t call you,” Lucia said shyly.
She was not at all sensitive to numbers. In fact, she made sure to keep the phone numbers of those she contacted often on her phone. She even had to hesitate before she could say his phone number sometimes. That’s why she hated changing her number.
“Didn’t you use my phone to make a call earlier?” Are you drunk?” Lowell’s voice was full of worry.
“A little.” Lucia didn’t deny it.
“Tell me where you are. I’ll come get you,” Lowell offered.
She told him the location, hung up the phone and handed it back to Joy. Shortly after, Lowell appeared in the bar. He called one of the waiters and asked him to send Joy and Beeny back to their hotel.
Lloyd wasn’t completely drunk. When he looked at the man who had just arrived, he saw that it was not Malcolm. He was a little surprised, but he didn’t say anything and just walked out. Lucia followed him and watched him get into his car before going back inside.
“Let’s go. I’ll take you home,” Lowell said to Lucia, who was standing in front of him.
“Let’s go for a walk first. I’m drunk and dizzy.” Lucia waved, turned and walked out of the bar.
“That’s fine with me.” Lowell followed her.
