It's Love That Blinds Him
It’s Love That Blinds Him – Chapter 98

The cold wind tickled Lucia as she and Lowell walked out of the bar. She shivered; she really hated the cold. But the cold wind helped to sober her up a little. Lucia wrapped her arms tightly around her body, then reached out and pulled her scarf higher over her mouth and nose.

Lowell frowned and took her hand. The coldness of his fingers worried him. The warmth of Lowell’s hand traveled over Lucia’s body, urging her to take an unconscious step toward him. Without a word, Lowell put his arms around her.

Lucia had no idea why she hadn’t pushed him away. Perhaps it was because of the alcohol she had consumed. Or because the cold was really making her uncomfortable right now. For some reason, she snuggled closer to him, trying to get warm. His head began to feel heavier and heavier, and his feet began to feel like they were floating on the ground. Was she really that light now when it came to drinking? She started to feel dizzy.

Lowell felt her sway in his arms. He looked at her and timidly pressed his palm to her forehead; his skin was unusually warm. He swore softly.

“Let me take you to the hospital, Lucia. You have a fever,” Lowell said quickly.

Without waiting for her response, he picked her up and carried her to the car. He put her in the front seat, strapped her in, and made sure she was comfortable. Then he rushed to the driver’s side, started the car and drove towards the hospital.

“No, Lowell, I don’t want to go to the hospital. I hate this place. Just buy me some medicine,” Lucia said weakly. She really hated

the hospital. She hated how it was so clean and smelled like disinfectant. The memories of her previous visits to the hospital were still too fresh in her mind. It would remind her too much of that time. She remembered how controlling Malcolm had been. She didn’t want to relive those memories. “You

.. .” Lowell started, but then stopped with a frown.

In the end, he didn’t take her to the hospital. Nor did he take Lucia back to the villa community. Instead This, he took her to his house. Under the influence of all the alcohol she had drunk and in the grip of a fever, Lucia was too weak to resist. She had no other choice but to let Lowell took her to his villa.

When they arrived at his house, Lowell carried her upstairs to the bedroom and laid her in bed. He stood looking at her for a moment, observing how she continued to toss and turn uncomfortably. Increasingly worried, he took out his phone and called his doctor.

In less than half an hour, Doctor Reggie arrived at the villa. Reggie walked over to greet Lowell, but was stopped before he even got a word in. Lowell turned and motioned for Reggie to follow him upstairs. Reggie stopped in surprise at the door when he saw Lucia writhing in the bed. He looked at Lowell. Lowell nodded at her, motioning for her to examine.

Reggie quickly slipped into his professional state. He put down his doctor’s bag and took out a stethoscope to listen to his heart and lungs. Then he took her temperature with a thermometer. He frowned as he looked at the reading. He reached into his bag and pulled out an injection and a bottle of medicine. He stuck the needle into the top of the bottle, sucked up the liquid, and carefully injected it into Lucia. It was something that would help bring down his fever. He scribbled a prescription and handed it to the servant waiting outside the room. Once the exam was finished, he turned to Lowell.

“What’s his problem?” Lowell asked anxiously.

“She… Is she… important to you?” Reggie asked hesitantly.

“Yes. Very important!” Lowell responded so seriously it sounded like he was making a wish.

“But…Isn’t she the wife’s CEO of Evans Group? Are you sure…?” Reggie asked cautiously.

Lowell did not answer Reggie’s question. He gave Reggie a meaningful look. Reggie shivered under his intense gaze and quickly busied himself with packing his supplies. Then he told Lowell how to dose it.

“If you’re sure she’ll be okay, you can leave,” Lowell said indifferently.

“Of course. But if his fever doesn’t break soon, you’ll have to send him to the hospital or bring him to me. I need better equipment so I can give you a more accurate diagnosis,” said Reggie dutifully.

Lowell remained silent. Reggie glanced at Lucia again then left. Lowell went to sit on the bed next to Lucia. He placed his hand on her previously sweaty forehead and was relieved to see that her skin had cooled. The medicine was already working.

He went to the servant and asked him to prepare some simple porridge and some tasty side dishes. He took a glass of water and placed it on the bedside table along with the pills.

Now that her body was no longer burning, Lucia felt much better. When she woke up, she had difficulty sitting up. She could already tell that she was in an unfamiliar place and not in Catherine’s villa .To top it all off, she could hardly see the silhouette of a man.

“Malcolm?” Is that you?” Lucia mumbled.

She still felt bad. The combination of her heavy drinking and the fever was blurring her thoughts too much for her to think straight. When she saw the man’s figure , she said the name that came to mind. Tears began to fall from her eyes before she could stop them.

No matter how hard she tried to rid herself of these memories, they always seemed to her come back. Just the sight of his back made her weak. No matter how much she wanted to forget him, she couldn’t. More than anything, she wanted to hear those familiar words: wildcat. She had never imagined that hating

a no one would be so difficult, and hating the person she loved was almost impossible.

When she finally realized who the character really was, she was speechless. Little by little, the memories of the day came back to her. She remembered having met the other planners she worked with. Then they went to dinner and to the bar for drinks. She remembered drinking too much, and then Lowell showed up. She came down with a fever and refused to go to the hospital. Lowell had to take him to his house.

But she mistook him for Malcolm. The fever had really confused his brain. Lucia quickly wiped away her tears, feeling a little stupid. She looked up at Lowell and forced an embarrassed smile.

A hint of sadness flickered in the depths of Lowell’s eyes. He was only there for a moment before disappearing. He walked over to stand at her bedside as if nothing had happened. He checked her temperature to make sure it was back to normal, then handed her a bowl of porridge. Lucia took the bowl and lowered her head in embarrassment as she slowly ate the porridge.

Now, with his stomach full, the strange fizzing and tumbling sensation disappeared. After eating and waking up, Lucia was calm and sober again. Lowell continued to look at her in silence.

After she finished her porridge, Lowell took the bowl and placed it on the bedside table. They looked at each other for a moment, before looking away in silent embarrassment. Lowell handed Lucia the pills and water. The water had become cold. He added boiling water. Lucia gave him a grateful smile before quickly swallowing the pills.

“Lowell…I…” Lucia started to say, but her words failed her.

“Do you still feel sick? Lowell asked worriedly.

Lucia looked up at him guiltily. She hated that distant look on his face. She could only imagine how much she must have hurt him.

“No…I’m sorry,” Lucia apologized and lowered her head.

“There’s no need to apologize,” Lowell said, refusing the apology. “I don’t ever want you to confuse me with him again.”

“I…” Lucia tried to speak but fell silent.

“He must have meant a lot to you.” You chose not to hate him, even though he hurt you so much. But I’m not like him. There is nothing of him in me. Nothing,” Lowell said, emphasizing the importance of each syllable.

Lucie was silent. She didn’t defend herself. Lowell was right; there was no trace of Malcolm in him. But she still compared the 2.

“Lucie? Do you have feelings for me?” Lowell asked seriously.

“Yes,” Lucia replied without hesitation.

“Do you think it’s possible that you’ll fall in love with me one day and forget about it?” Lowell stared at her intently as he spoke.

“I…I don’t know,” Lucia answered honestly.

“I don’t know if you’ll ever really forget it. But know that I like you; I love you. I love everything about you; your anger, your sadness, your joy… Everything,” Lowell said seriously.

Each word felt like it was driving a dagger into Lucia’s chest. His heart sank painfully. She reached out and traced the lines of his face with her fingertips. She touched his face, his nose and his chin, stopping only to place her fingers on his lips.

“Lowell, would you like me just like that?” For no reason?” Lucia blurted out before she could stop herself.

Lowell was silent. He just looked at her quietly. He took her hands and held them gently, never breaking her gaze. Not even when a complicated emotion and no name flashed in his eyes. He remained silent as he pulled her into an embrace, holding her gently, like a delicate flower. “

You are special to me, Lucia, no matter what,” Lowell said, breaking finally his silence.

Lucia listened to what he said, then slowly removed herself from his arms. She tilted her head to the side and looked at him questioningly. Without warning, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed. His lips were warm against his and he tasted like tea.

For a moment, Lowell froze in surprise, but he quickly realized what was happening. He took control of the k**s, pressing his lips to hers. He ran the tip of his tongue over her lower l*p, and this time she didn’t push him away. Her delicate mouth opened for him. Lowell moved closer to her, slipping his tongue into her mouth. Their tongues danced together in the heat of their passion, betraying the distracted expression Lucia had on her face.

Lowell saw it and his heart sank. Reluctantly, he let her go. Lucia looked at Lowell blankly.

“Why don’t you stay here?” It’s late now. I’ll take you home tomorrow,” Lowell said.

He helped Lucia snuggle into bed and tucked her in. Before leaving the room, he carefully adjusted the heater so she wouldn’t be too hot or too cold. Lucia was still confused when he left the room.

If she had been a second faster, maybe she could have stopped him. But she was too slow. All she could do was watch as his lone figure walked out from the room. So she ended up hurting him anyway.

Humans were truly the most selfish animals when it came to love. She was hurt and already looking for new comfort, but she still clung to that warmth previous. She wanted more, but couldn’t forget the past. Now she was making an already complicated situation even worse.

The Night Dead existed for people to share their passions. It was there for young lovers to spend time intimate together, or for those who were tired from the labors of the day to rest. But those whose minds were restless found no comfort in the embrace of night. Lucia tried hard to resist the effects of the pills, but in the end she gave in and fell asleep. Even then, the corners of his mouth were tilted into a frown.
